Bat's did a superb job leveling and re-piering our foundation. They were prompt, transparent, and to the point. They gave us just what we needed, and didn't try to oversell us. This is especially important in E Austin on pier and beam foundations - a lot of homes have sunk over time due to the clayish soil. A few companies gave us ridiculous quotes - like $20k to completely re-pier the whole house. Another company told me I should just destroy parts of my home (which were perfectly fine) to accommodate the releveling project, calling these areas "gangrenous limbs." We have just bought a 120 year old home and BATS is such a blessing. They gave us two estimates during our option period and the other company was going to have to break our original hardwood floors because the crawlspace is nonexistent after years of settling. One of the reasons we chose these guys is how positive they were through the whole process - they never said it couldnt be done or it wasnt worth doing. BATS took the extra time and extreme effort of trenching eight feet all over the home to create enough space to place sonotubes and new beams. The customer service from Mike, Jose and the engineer have all been exceptional. Let me repeat - This was not an easy job. They never asked for a penny more or complained even tho their workers had to spend days in these small tunnels under our house. The home is now level and Jose the foreman was present during all lifting to update and inform us or let us make decisions during the process. They even allowed us to choose how tight some of our old bowing floors could be. None of our windows broke; just minor drywall cracks. The crew has replaced every inch of dirt and even gave me extra for my garden. Jose even saved a baby bird he found on the ground by placing it inside the tree so the mom could find it. I would hesitate to trust anyone other than BATS for your pier and beam repair. I am not kidding these guys are the real deal. Bat's Foundation Repair was UH-MAZING. Initially they did not have an opening as quickly as I needed. BUT they opened up a spot for me for the very next day. They assessed and delivered!! The crew showed up on time and finished up on time!! I was afraid of the mess I saw as I walked up to the house on the last day of work. But was shocked and extremely impressed by the clean up they had done. Disclaimer: they didn't repair my foundation so I can't speak to their actual foundation repair. However, I was so happy with their customer service and honesty that I felt the need to review them. Steve came to look at the foundation of our home when we were told by an inspector that he thought there was a foundation problem. Steve surveyed the property, the full house, drew up a map and came to the conclusion that our foundation is fine. He explained why he thought there were some differences in the level of our house. We discovered possible wood rot in an old cedar post and pier and contacted Bats for possible repair. From the reviews, they seemed like an honest company. They were quick to respond, on time, and gave me an honest opinion, which was that we don't have anything to worry about right now. You are out of your mind if you call anyone but Bats Foundation. As others have mentioned, not only will they not sell you work you don't need, there is no charge if you don't need anything at all. I recently bought a home and my general house inspector was worried about a minor foundation problem - not enough to cancel the purchase, but potentially expensive. This amazing company came out and told me not to spend my money! Since there is no fee, I pushed him to tell me a charity to donate I. Lieu of an inspection fee. I was hearing very loud cracks all around my downstairs and a bunch of tiles were cracking and popping. Insurance said it was most likely a foundation issue. I called Bats to setup an emergency inspection. John Baack showed up and was one of the nicest guys i have met here in Austin since we moved here 4 years ago. After his inspection and measurements, he assured me that the cracking sounds were the tiles do to a water leak that a plumber found a few days back in the downstairs bathroom. Oh yea, and he charged me NOTHING! I felt bad and asked him to please charge me something and he refused. If you need a foundation company, give them a call. BATS is a great choice if you think you need foundation repair. I had a quote from them last year but was unable to commit the time to get it done. When I was finally ready this month I had them come out and do another reading; as well as two other companies. The reading Brent did almost mirrored the one from last year, while the other two showed differences and didn't agree where the foundation was lower or higher. I chose BATS for the consistency and the patience Brent had in explaining the readings and the process. The crew came out and dug the holes for twelve steel piers required to stabilize my foundation. They were finished later that evening. The crew was very professional and polite. The engineer came out the following morning and gave them a thumbs up to fill the holes. When done, they cleaned up the mess like they were never there. I would definitely recommend BATS if you need foundation repair. read more

Not knowing just what I was getting into, I hired Bats Foundation sight unseen. I was hesitant to paid their requested 10% down prior to start of work but agreed. I was just as hesitant (if not more so) to paid their balance upon completion of their work; however, my hesitantly was unwarranted. Two & one-half months after they finished my foundation work & other trades were starting theirs, I had issues with some of the piers. After the fact, some of the piers were outside the building line which meant they were in conflict with the perimeter shirting that was scheduled for construction. Mind you, Bats had been paid in full but after an initial call to Brent to outline the problem with a follow-up call, Brent scheduled the necessary "repair" work in a most timely manner. In addition, Brent himself made one more final visit to correct a CIP Pier that was located incorrectly. I am very pleased with Bats service & should I find myself in need of yet another house leveling situation, Bats will be the first I call. read more
