I just looked online and they're whipping up Almond Strawberry and Blueberry Vanilla cupcakes right now - yum! One word of advice: don't rely on pictures if you're using an app to order your goodies. I really wanted the s'mores cupcakes for my birthday recently, in part because their picture showed amazing flame-pattern icing atop the cupcake, complete with marshmallow and one piece of Hershey chocolate . The chocolate chip cookies are the best imo. However, they are hit or miss. The past few times I've been, they've been a bit over baked which makes them crunchy and not nearly as good. But when they're baked right, they're the best cookies I've ever had!! Service wise, the majority of the staff are very friendly! Stopped in on the weekend and was surprised by how many different items they could fit into that tiny shop! The staff were friendly and helped me immediately. I purchased an oatmeal raisin cookie, a boston cream cupcake, and two chocolate dipped pretzel rods that were football inspired. The oatmeal raisin cookie was so good! The oats were obvious - huge, delicious chunks. The cookie also had a noticeably strong flavor of vanilla, which I loved. I'm not a cupcake fan, usually, because I don't like typical icing. The boston cream cupcake was exactly like a mini boston cream pie. The icing was thick chocolate ganache style and the filling was perfect. The pretzel rods were as expected! Salty sweet combo. I loved everything. The only reason I struggle giving the place 5 stars is because I feel the $4.50 for the average/regular sized cupcake is a little steep Maybe for some of the more over-the-top style cupcakes, but not the more basic ones. We stopped by here to satisfy a sweet craving on our way home from a drive to get out of the house. Currently you cannot enter Batter and Dough, but they are doing pick up and to go orders. After browsing the window from the outside we chose 2 cupcakes each (cupcake prices are $4 each). My wife settled on the PB Chocolate & Batter and Dough. I settled on S'mores & Salted Caramel. The cupcakes were well worth the price as they are quite rich and filling. The Batter and Dough one had caramel in the middle and an icing that contained m & m's and.cookie dough, the bottom of the cupcake was an oreo cookie...this is definitely everything but the kitchen sink. The S'mores one had a filling of marshmallow with a graham cracker bottom and an icing containing a mini hershey bar and mini marshmallows. The Salted Caramel had a caramel filling and a light icing on top, the perfect blend of sweet snd savory. With this being a short walk from us, we'll definitely be frequenting here. read more

This will sound dramatic, but take it as you will--I never knew a cupcake could be so terrible. In fact, it was one of the worst things I've ever tried to eat. The icing was absolute rubbish, and the cupcake was as if it was left out, uncovered on a table for ten days. It was rock solid, drier than the desert, and without an ounce of flavor. Nothing. Maybe benefit of the doubt, and they forgot a wet ingredient? It like there was zero butter/oil, fake chocolate flavor, and was left out to become stale. Ive never had that issue, even with leftover cupcakes from other places in the fridge for a few days. This was my first and only cupcake, so hopefully these were just a batch gone terribly wrong. Even the raspberry filling was less than satisfying. All I know is, I'll never spend $5 again on these, gambling to find out. This is a cute, local, downtown shop so I was eager to support them! I went in to quickly pick up a dessert to bring to an October gathering. Not wanting the giant assortment box for over $50, my only "packaged" party-ready option seemed to be the $25 thick cookie cake. It was a good choice -- the cookie was decorated in fall colored frosting, with leaves and pumpkins -- very pretty, and perfect for the football party. The down side was that it was a little less than fresh. It was probably sitting there for a day or two before I came along to buy it. After wanting to come here for over a year I finally made it! Was it amazing? No. Was it bad? No. Would I go back? Yes. I would definitely go back to grab a couple more chocolate chip cookies and I'd like to try their cannoli. It's not the cleanest and brightest bakery I've ever walked into. And there were boxes all over the one table that customers could have sat down to eat at. I also wasn't impressed that no one was there to greet customers. They do have a bell to ring for service though on the counter. The cupcakes are all beautifully decorated, they look amazing inside the case. They are also substantial in size. I went with 2, the chocolate peanut butter and also the black forest. The chocolate cake on both was not dry, but it was dense. I prefer a lighter, more airy cake. The frosting was good, not too sweet. Both of them were priced at $4, which I think is pretty steep, even for a larger cupcake. I am willing to pay that for a cupcake, but it should be one of the best cupcakes I've ever eaten, these were not that. Better than a grocery store cupcake for sure though. I really hate leaving this review but I feel I must leave an honest impression of this little bakeshop. First-having read so many great five star reviews-I was excited to make the trip to this bakery. At first glance-I could have gained ten pounds just looking at the beautifully decorated cupcakes and nicely displayed cookies. Then I realized-"what on earth is the smell in here?"...when questioning the nice young girl waiting on us, she said they were making roast beef in the back room. Now-I'm a fan of roast beef and if they were selling some, I would have definitely purchased a plate because it smelled delicious--But-the smell was so overpowering and inappropriate in a bakeshop that it ruined the atmosphere with overwhelming roast beef with onions smell instead of sweet bakery aroma. It was weird--and I literally reeked of roast beef when I left and unfortunately was headed to a party smelling like a steakhouse. I smelled like I ate a Philly Cheesesteak with onions! Okay-enough of that...the cupcakes were beautiful and the cake part was dense, chocolate cake. The frosting was, in my opinion-too thick-not fluffy-and not great tasting. The cookies were beautiful but only average. I'm sorry! I wanted so much to love this place but sadly I'm not interested in even giving it another try. For your future customers-please at least refrain from making roast beef (or any strong smelling non-bakery items) during business hours-it really ruins the experience. Popped in this bakery on a Sunday to grab a small desert for my wife's birthday (not huge on sweets). This place had some limited Sunday hours and assorted fall time mini cupcakes. I'm impressed by the effort that went into these little guys and the flavor is just as good as the appearance. When I finally found it, I decided we should go and see for ourselves. We've had people bring their cupcakes as dessert to our house, and they've always been good. So I suppose, yes, I'm disappointed. What we got out of the case was definitely not fresh. Maybe a day old? I get that 2:00pm cupcakes aren't going to be as fresh as 7am cupcakes, but what I ate when I got home was far dryer and more underwhelming than it should have been. Unfortunate. I guess the moral of the story is to place an order, not just go pick from the case. We got chocolate chip cookies, too, and they were really good. Huge! Crispy edges, soft with gooey chocolate chips in the center. Not too sweet, either. So it wasn't a total bust. But it's not making my bakery hall of fame any time soon, either. read more

Their rotating menu of cupcake flavors are exciting and always delicious! They keep it fun with varying themes (typically changing ever 1-2weeks) and also provide so many great little gifting options such as chocolate covered pretzels/Oreos/rice krispies, hot chocolate bombs, & cake pops. This tucked away little bakeshop is Bridgeville's hidden gem. I stopped here twice first to try out their chocolate chip cookie which they are known for and then to try one of their cupcakes. The chocolate chip cookie sells for $.85 and is fresh out of the oven good! It had that warm and gooey taste to it. I really enjoyed it! The cupcakes vary in price from $3.00-$4.00 a piece. The color of the price will match the color of the lettering associated with each particular cupcake. I learned that if you order a dozen you save on an average around $4.00. The lady told me is was like getting one cupcake free. They have well over 100 varieties of cupcakes. Six of them are their standard fare which include the salted caramel and the chocolate peanut butter. The rest of them change out weekly so you never know what you will end up buying. I was with a friend and purchased a dark chocolate cupcake with a brownie on top, a real strawberry on icing cupcake, a floral icing cupcake, a chocolate chip cookie cupcake with the cookie on top, a burnt almond torte cupcake, and their standard salted caramel and chocolate peanut butter cupcake. My girlfriend purchased some similar but one she purchased was a lemon meringue cupcake and a pink velvet one. In addition to regular cupcakes you can buy a dozen mini cupcakes for $25.00. The were also selling red velvet cookies, biscottis,sugar cookies, and even treats for your dog. They have a small seating area. I learned that they also do catering as well as make cakes. I decided to start with the brownie cupcake. It was fresh and moist! My girlfriend had the lemon meringue and she showed me the lemon creme in the center. She let me try it and it was mouthwatering good. These cupcakes are a descent size and I don't question the price since I have been to other businesses selling cupcakes for the same if not more. You can order ahead if you like. It is located on Station Street about a another store away from one of the two pay parking lots in Bridgeville. Again parking is $.75 per hour which I find is very reasonable. The bakery is located on the west side of the Washington Road if headed northbound from I 79 interchange so you would make a left. It is very easy to miss but once on the street you can see the storefront. I know that both my family and I will enjoy the remaining cupcakes and plan to return after Valentine's day to see their offerings for St Patrick's day. read more
