Baked with Love is a bakery that is adjacent to Jaden's Catering, and an employee told me that these two businesses are "partners". My husband and I visited Baked with Love to buy some desserts for ourselves. On a Saturday afternoon, the parking lot was mostly full. The bakery had a couple of parking spots right near it, and we did find a couple of other parking spots in an overflow lot in the back. In several displays, I saw desserts such as cakes (they even make wedding cakes), pies, gobs, lady-locks, cupcakes, cookies, pumpkin rolls, cream puffs, and many others. In a refrigerator, I saw macarons, slices of cake, and several types of gluten-free and dairy-free cookies. A refrigerator contained beverages such as teas, juices, and energy drinks. The employees greeted us, accurately rang up our purchase, carefully packaged our desserts, and said "Thank you" and "Have a good day." At home, my husband and I ate our desserts. Here are my reviews for them: Strawberry Dream cupcake - $2.25 - 3 stars - This cupcake was moist and tasted sweet, but I would have preferred a stronger strawberry flavor. Large lady-lock - $3 - 4.5 stars - The lady-locks were available in multiple flavors, and my husband chose raspberry. The crust was flaky, and the filling was creamy and had a strong and sweet flavor of raspberry. Container of assorted cookies - $18 - 4 stars overall - This container had about 1 1/2 dozen assorted cookies. Some flavors were peanut butter blossoms (3 stars), snickerdoodles (4 stars), oatmeal raisin (4 stars), M&M (3.5 stars), chocolate chip (3.5 stars), apricot and walnut kolachies (3 stars), small lady-locks (3.5 stars), and peanut butter buckeyes (4.5 stars).

delicious Halloween cookies!

I ordered 3 dozen assorted cookies to share with the wedding party, friends, and family at my sister's October wedding rehearsal dinner. The cookies were ready on time and tasted delicious. I requested Halloween decorations and loved the themed iced sugar cookies and black and orange sprinkles throughout the cookies. The cookies were very big and just fit into their container. They were so compact some were squished and it was quite difficult to get to the ones on the bottom. I would suggest larger containers in the future. Based on taste, I will definitely order again from Baked With Love in the future.

Nikole has the best sweet treats! She is excellent to worth with and is very reasonably priced. She has taken my inspiration photos and created them better than I could have imagined

Ordered my 30th birthday cake from here. It was gluten & dairy free and you never would have known. The service was wonderful through the ordering & pick up process. I had a yellow cake with chocolate mousse filling, topped with vanilla icing.

Very accommodating and easy to work with. We emailed back and forth a few times. I gave them ideas and they created the cake. Not only did the cake look great, but it tasted even better!

Called last minute for a birthday cake, they had it beautifully decorated and ready within a couple hours! Everyone raved about how delicious the cake was! We also bought the gluten free, dairy free peanut free cookies with chocolate icing. They were OUTSTANDING!! Definitely will be using Baked With Love for all our goodies!

Just a spoonful of mousse keeps the customers away

Ordered a chocolate batter with chocolate mousse filling for a birthday cake. The bottom layer was stale and tasted like almond. The top layer was moist and delicious. They apparently couldn't spare enough mousse to cover the first stale layer. All of this incompetence cost me $30 for an 8 inch cake! If I had wanted this kind of slop I would have gone to Giant Eagle! Save yourself the disappointment and go someplace reputable.

She even let me try a couple samples of her chocolate cupcake and some of her homemade chocolate chip cookies, which were both delicious! So delicious, I ended up leaving with a few cupcakes, some cookies, and a cheesecake! (Even though I'm supposed to be on a diet and shouldn't have wandered in there in the first place) The orange creamsicle cupcake was the absolute star of the show and belongs on the menu full time! Everything was amazing. You can really tell everything is made with care from scratch. So glad I discovered this cute little spot. I'll definitely be back!

I couldn't find any bakeries in Pittsburgh that made them, but when I saw Linda post on Nextdoor about her bakery, I asked if she did custom orders. She reached out and was excited to whip up a batch of ube cupcakes. She was just wonderful to work with, and though she'd never had ube before, she was totally down to work with a new ingredient and experiment with flavors from a different culture. As for how they turned out... well, yesterday I picked up a dozen, and 24 hours later, we only have four left! Not only have we enjoyed them, a few friends have gotten in on the ube cupcake action too! She made them with a whipped cream frosting that's SO good. Buttercream is fine, but it wouldn't work as well with ube. The whipped cream frosting is nice and light, and the toasted coconut on top just brings it alllll together. For the un-indoctrinated, ube is a sweet purple potato most often used in Philippino food. It's sweet, but not too sweet--so the cupcakes aren't as cloyingly sweet as many traditional flavors. If you're looking for something a little different, I highly recommend reaching out to Linda and giving Dosa a try! I have no doubt we'll be ordering these again.

Every…read moreweekend we try to hit up a new local coffee shop, and on this morning we decided to go to Aroma Joe's. We happened to be in Monroeville picking up a Christmas gift when I fired up Yelp and noticed there was an Aroma Joe's nearby. While we had not been to this specific location, we have visited the one in Greensburg a couple of times, so we had a pretty good idea of what to expect. This Aroma Joe's location only offers a drive thru and a walk up window. Since it was cold on the day we were there, we chose the drive thru. After looking over the menu, I decided on a hot Paris Toast latte, while my wife went with an iced peppermint latte. The menu describes the Paris Toast latte as having flavors of maple, brown sugar cinnamon, and shortbread. From the time we ordered until we received our drinks took about five minutes, so the staff here was definitely efficient. My coffee ended up being good. The flavorings came through nicely without hiding the coffee itself. The espresso also had a strong flavor, although it did leave my mouth feeling a bit dry for whatever reason. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our coffees, so why not.

I am not from, nor did I typically frequent, this side of town, so I have been enjoying trying a lot of new spots! One of those was Aroma Joe's. I visited here early on a Thursday morning on my way into work. This shop is located a little bit off of William Penn Highway, so it is close to a main road without the main road traffic. They have their own parking lot, and it is very easy to go in and out of the lot. When I stopped, it was not too busy yet. I decided to walk up and order at the window, since I had never been before. You can either order at the window or go through the drive-thru. The girl who took my order was very friendly and helpful. She gave me some information about the business, and gave me details on their menu and flavoring options. I was even offered a paper menu to take with me for future visits when I told her it was my first time visiting. Overall, she gave great customer service! Eventually, I decided on on the 24 Ounce Paris Toast signature latte with skim milk. Typically with any coffee drink with flavoring, I request it to be half sweet just solely based on personal preference. The accommodated the request for me with no problem. My drink was ready for me before I was even finished paying, so speed of service is superb. I enjoyed my drink very much! I plan to frequent there more, since I will be in this area of town more for at least the near future. I hope to try some of their seasonal offerings, and potentially some food items in the future. My only suggestion would be for the company to consider different options for their breakfast sandwiches. From what I was told, I believe they are premade, so you cannot switch out the bread the sandwiches come on. I know this goes beyond this location, but I would be more inclined to order something like that if I could choose my preferred meat and bread combination. Overall, I very much enjoyed this first visit to Aroma Joe's. The atmosphere, staff, and product are all great here. The customer service alone would have be coming back for another trip. I would highly recommend a stop here if you are in the Monroeville area looking for a coffee drink!
