I was almost shocked and in disbelief if this place went out of business. After walking around the booths looking for the business, and finally finding this battery place brought a sense of relief. Seriously! Haha. Yes, I've been coming here for all my watches, gate and garage remotes, and my car alarm remotes for years. I come here for its convenience from home, and their fair pricing. A small flat round battery for a watch typically costs $5.00, so not a big deal given the fact that I could come in and out in five minutes if nobody was there. I love it! The owner is an older Chinese guy who's also pretty nice. It takes him 30 seconds to change my battery, verses it might take me an hour... Because I'm all thumbs. The batteries typically lasts for a year if used regularly. Not bad for five bucks. The only hard thing is finding parking on weekends. It's located inside a huge Chinese Supermarket. This business is located inside the SG Superstore. I had been wanting to buy a plastic skin for my blackberry and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg getting it from the regular mobile carriers. When I saw this place I asked the guy if he had one for my particular BB. I couldn't believe the service he gave me. It was awesome. So I first asked him (in Cantonese) if he had a skin for my BB, he responded in Mandarin and asked me to go to the other side where they were located. When he asked me what color I wanted and I said black, he said "girls should use something with color. Your blackberry is a very mannish phone and it's already black, get something with color to spice it up". Since I didn't really see any color that I fancied, I kept reverting to the black. I could tell he seriously did NOT want to sell me the black. He then proceeded to bring every single color out and put them on my BB for me to see. His first suggestion was red, but since red isn't a color I ordinarily like, I passed on it. After several colors, from blue, orange, pearl, yellow, purple, green, I finally said "okay, let's try the red". Surprisingly, I liked the red (and the black) the best. I decided to get both the red and black and he seemed very pleased with my red selection. I didn't have the heart to tell him that personality-wise I'm more mannish than girlish, but I was so overwhelmed by such great service (and in SGV of all places) I felt I just HAD to give him 5 stars!!! read more

What a nice man, Luke Tong is. I found this location, inside the San Gabriel Superstore, thanks to Yelp. I needed a hard to find battery for my home alarm system right away. The batteries need to be specially ordered from ADT and I couldn't wait for them to be made and shipped so I came to Battery World Center. Luke was very knowledgeable and kind. He looked at the battery I came in with and told me he did not carry that particular battery. However, he referred me to a store (also called Battery Center!) that did assemble them in nearby Alhambra. I was very impressed because Luke could have simply said he didn't carry the battery and left it at that but he didn't. Luke went the extra mile to a customer in need and I appreciated that. The name of the business inside of this indoor swap meet is "Battery Center"' not Battery World. They have a variety of cellular phone accessories on display, along with a various batteries. Having those batteries on display really makes things easier to understand when you need a battery pack repaired. They can show you what type of battery you'll need. I had plenty of watches that needed new batteries because I stopped wearing them and depended on my phone to tell me the time. Found this place and very happy to have done so. $28 for a replacement phone battery?!?!?! I know every business needs to make a profit but seriously, they're trying to suck every penny and dime off me. One of those batteries does not cost nearly $5 to make and shipping in bulks from China does not account to $28 per battery. I laughed when the guy told me and then left. I love this place! Every few months, I take all the electronic watches in need of batteries, take them to this little stand, shop elsewhere in this Chinese mall a bit, and return to find the batteries installed and the watches set to the correct time. The fee always seems to be $5.00 each which is positively a bargain. The man behind the counter is much friendly, and he guarantees the batteries for a year(except when your watch has an alarm. Don't replace watch battery in this shop! It used to be okay before as it charged $5 for battery change. Starting from this year, the charge is based on the price of the watch. On 1/7/2019, I had my Omega watch battery replaced for $5 by the woman in the shop. When I adjusted the time on 11/2/2019, I noticed that the battery was dead. The battery is still under the one year warranty. On 11/3/2019, I took the watch to the shop for checking. The man in the shop said that my battery was installed in year 2015. How could the battery be running for over 4 years? The previous battery was installed by the this shop also. The man didn't trust me, instead, he kept saying: " You don't trust me. I don't want to change the battery for you." I said: "Why would I cheat you for a few dollars? Okay, I'm willing to pay $8 to replace the battery as you want." The man still refuse to do that. He didn't put the parts back to the right place. I was refused by the other battery change shop in the same plaza to replace the battery twice. I ran around twice between the two shops. The second time, the man in Battery Center opened the watch back lid to show the parts are still inside except that he didn't put them in the right place. The man finally replaced the battery for $6 to show me that the watch is running. He came back to me with the glass and the underneath ring loose apart, a tiny metal piece came off, which is to cover the parts at the back of the watch. He said: "Your watch is too old, the parts are aging, I cannot fix the parts." (When I took the watch to the ship, the watch was intact.) This morning, I took the watch to TJ Watch & Repair to repair the loose parts. The owner of TJ watch told me that Battery Center had used the wrong battery for my thin watch, so one side of the front plate with pins was higher than the other side, pushing the glass and the underneath plastic ring off and there's no need to move the tiny metal piece at the back for battery change. TJ Watch installed a new thinner battery for the watch and put the original parts back to the place in less that 10 minutes at a very reasonable price. The new battery is only $10. I truly condemn Battery Shop for damaging my Omega watch, wasting my time and money and cheating me for their mistakes. This place is lack of experience to handle good expensive watch, the man or even the woman in the shop are dishonest people. My family, friends and myself won't do business with the place anymore. read more

Found the phone batteries here that are not carried in any regular stores such as RadioShack or Fry's. The owner created one on site. Although it costs more, it's worth the money and saves me a lot of time and gas too, so I don't have to drive to places to find the right batteries. read more
