After walking around the…read morebooths looking for the business, and finally finding this battery place brought a sense of relief. Seriously! Haha. Yes, I've been coming here for all my watches, gate and garage remotes, and my car alarm remotes for years. I come here for its convenience from home, and their fair pricing. A small flat round battery for a watch typically costs $5.00, so not a big deal given the fact that I could come in and out in five minutes if nobody was there. I love it! The owner is an older Chinese guy who's also pretty nice. It takes him 30 seconds to change my battery, verses it might take me an hour... Because I'm all thumbs. The batteries typically lasts for a year if used regularly. Not bad for five bucks. The only hard thing is finding parking on weekends. It's located inside a huge Chinese Supermarket. So I avoid this place on weekends, and will only go during the week. Yes, happy he's still around, and it's go to funky battery place!

When I saw this place I asked the guy if he had one for my particular BB. I couldn't believe the service he gave me. It was awesome. So I first asked him (in Cantonese) if he had a skin for my BB, he responded in Mandarin and asked me to go to the other side where they were located. When he asked me what color I wanted and I said black, he said "girls should use something with color. Your blackberry is a very mannish phone and it's already black, get something with color to spice it up". Since I didn't really see any color that I fancied, I kept reverting to the black. I could tell he seriously did NOT want to sell me the black. He then proceeded to bring every single color out and put them on my BB for me to see. His first suggestion was red, but since red isn't a color I ordinarily like, I passed on it. After several colors, from blue, orange, pearl, yellow, purple, green, I finally said "okay, let's try the red". Surprisingly, I liked the red (and the black) the best. I decided to get both the red and black and he seemed very pleased with my red selection. I didn't have the heart to tell him that personality-wise I'm more mannish than girlish, but I was so overwhelmed by such great service (and in SGV of all places) I felt I just HAD to give him 5 stars!!!

There was an issue with the item number on my receipt, but he took the time to figure it out and made sure everything worked out. When I came back to drop off my old battery after installing the replacement from my mechanic, I was met by the store manager. I explained that I was there for a return and warranty exchange, with all my receipts in hand. Instead of reviewing my issue, he immediately told me there was nothing he could do, and shifted the conversation with an attitude, emphasizing that he was the store manager. I asked for Trong to explain the situation, and while doing so, the manager openly criticized him in front of me and two other customers. Whether right or wrong, that kind of conversation should be handled privately, not in front of customers. Trong was simply doing his job and trying to help me, and it was unprofessional for the manager to treat him that way. As a paying customer with a legitimate issue, I shouldn't be made to feel like a burden. And no employee should be spoken down to publicly when they're trying to help. Thank you again to Trong for your professionalism and persistence. As for the store manager -- this experience shows a real need for coaching on how to properly address both customers and employees.

I'll start off by saying this, if you're like me, and your experience at Interestate historically has been: pull up, pop your hood, they remove your battery and pop a new one in, you pay for the new battery, drive away. Not today. Not at this interstate. Nah, they will straight up refuse to install yours here. Instead? The dude asks me "uhmm, want me to give you tools or what?" With a look on his face like he's wondering why I'm still standing there. He then hands me a wrench. Im on my way to work mind you, not really trying to get dirty but I roll up my sleeves and get to doing this dude's job anyway. I accidentally drop the wrench in my engine, and tell the dude to help me fish it out. He pretty much says nothing until I continue to stare at him, to which he brings out a 2 foot stick for me to fish it out myself. So by the end of this, I've changed my own battery and I now have a wrench in my engine bay that I won't be able to get out without removing parts. I can only warn you: DO. NOT. COME. HERE. If you expect them to change your battery for you. Choose a different interstate. Period.
