During the removal and installation of my battery, the guy was very professional. We had an easy going conversation that didn't feel force and it didn't go on too long. Treated my car with care. He even moved by driver seat back to the original position after having to move it so that he can access the area beneath the steering wheel. They offer both refurb battery or a brand new battery. So that was nice that they provided options to the customer that would best fit your budget. The battery also comes with warranty. Installation is an additional fee of $30. I explained that I was there for a return and warranty exchange, with all my receipts in hand. Instead of reviewing my issue, he immediately told me there was nothing he could do, and shifted the conversation with an attitude, emphasizing that he was the store manager. I asked for Trong to explain the situation, and while doing so, the manager openly criticized him in front of me and two other customers. Whether right or wrong, that kind of conversation should be handled privately, not in front of customers. Trong was simply doing his job and trying to help me, and it was unprofessional for the manager to treat him that way. As a paying customer with a legitimate issue, I shouldn't be made to feel like a burden. And no employee should be spoken down to publicly when they're trying to help. She was incredibly kind and took the time to explain the entire process to me. Since I arrived close to closing time and didn't have an appointment, she let me know they would run diagnostics on my laptop the following day. There's an $89 diagnostic fee, and if repairs are needed, part of the $89 fee can be used towards the cost, which felt reasonable. The next day, Martin called to let me know there was no damage and that he had cleaned the affected keys. He explained that my laptop passed all tests, but the battery was consumed. When I wasn't sure what that meant, he patiently explained and advised that since the battery wasn't swelling and the computer was still performing well, there was no need to replace it unless I noticed issues. I really appreciated that he took the time to explain everything and didn't try to upsell me. I was able to pick up my laptop later that same day which was less than 24 hours after dropping it off. I highly recommend Di-No for honest and fast service!

I paid the $89 diagnostic fee and understood that it would be applied toward the repair cost if I moved forward with the repair. That policy is completely reasonable. After diagnosing the issue as a failed motherboard, however, I was told they could not obtain the necessary Asus part and therefore could not perform the repair. I later learned that an authorized repair provider could obtain the part and complete the repair. My frustration is not that they charged for diagnostic time. My frustration is that no one mentioned before taking my money that they might not be able to source Asus parts or complete the repair. Had I known that, I would have taken the computer directly to an authorized repair provider. The laptop is currently being repaired by Geek Squad. I intentionally support small local businesses, and Di-No is close to my home, so it seemed like a win-win. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When I asked whether a refund was possible given that the repair could not be performed, I was told no. Consumers should know there is a possibility they may pay for a diagnosis, only to discover that the shop cannot complete the repair and that they will need to start over elsewhere.

While my HomePod was no longer under standard warranty, I took it to the Genius Bar hoping for an answer. They couldn't reproduce the problem. That is completely understandable. What is not understandable is that they returned my HomePod to me, damaged; I can no longer pair with the HomePod. I spent almost an hour on the phone with Apple Support. They advised me to bring it back to the store where it was damaged. Apple Pasadena offered me 10% off the retail price of a new HomePod... The manager did not want to speak with me. So I left. I wrote emails, now they're not responding. A solvable problem has snowballed into an almost 2-month session of (mostly me) emailing with someone I can only assume is not the manager. This has left a terrible taste in my mouth, and if I decide to continue to purchasing Apple products, it will not be from Apple Pasadena.
