Brought in my Winchester '97 for minor repair and got it back in worse shape 3 months later. I never got a phone call but had to go look for it. After several minutes at the counter they said its ready but not re-assembled yet, come back tomorrow... When I got there the next day, they were closed for a surprise ATF inspection. No phone call... nothing. Went back the following Monday and the guy told me it still wasn't ready and come back tomorrow again. (Beginning to wonder if they lost it.) Here is the condition they gave it back: Left extractor - broken; Barrel chamber ring - jammed in crooked; Barrel chamber ring retaining screws - missing; Firing pin lock spring - missing; Magazine plug stop - missing. Barrel - rusty. Except for the rust, this is NOT how I brought it in! The guy tells me that there is no spring on the firing pin and the rattle is normal for a gun that old. (Are you kidding me?) There was a good 1/16th gap between the front and back of gun where it breaks apart. I told him my gun was not like that before. He said there was nothing he could do about it. Then I discovered the barrel chamber ring installed crooked and the screws missing as the cause. I asked if the rust spots inside the barrel could be cleaned out and he said yes. When I got it back he said he tried but couldn't get it clean. I swear it didn't look like it had seen a brush. He did say he test fired it... (I wonder.) Only a fool would fire a shotgun in the condition this one was in. I regret having it painted too because its not a good look for a classic shotgun, a professional would have advised against it. I'll never bring my gun to anyone for repairs ever again! read more

Just got back from the Marines, and this has become my go-to for everything gun related. I've taken a Glock in for trigger work and had it back in my hands in less than 20 minutes. Their AR's are top notch, and I'd feel safer carrying one of them instead of the M4 I currently do. They'll work with you on what you want your gun to look like and be capable of, within reason. The staff is a solid group and fairly nice individuals as long as you don't go in there belligerently telling them they don't know what they're doing. If you want a solid AR that's made in Texas, with pretty unbeatable service and work quality, and it being right here in town, they can't be beat. read more

Droped off a Para Ordinance for a barrel bushing to be fitted.Was given an estimate of 75 and told if it would be more someone would call. when picked up it was 112 and no call also bushing is so tight that gun now will not cycle properly, Avoid these guys read more

we took a shotgun here to get serviced. it was completed in about 2 weeks, except it wasn't repaired at all - it actually came back with more problems........more dangerous, life-threatening issues were caused by the "repair". the gun fired immediately after loading a round without pulling the trigger. and it fired when the safety was on. it's obvious that the gun was not tested after the repair. take your firearms to a real gunsmith if you don't want to put your life (or others) at risk. read more

I will never recommend this shop to anyone and here's why. I brought in a very expensive AR-15 upper receiver group to have a surefire warcomp muzzle device pinned and welded with the ports in a neutral position and a geissele gas block pinned to the barrel. I was told the job would be finished by the end of the day on the 15th. I was called that day to pick up the "finished" upper. Upon returning to the shop the muzzle device was pinned with the ports to the right and the gas block wasn't pinned to the barrel at all. Then I found out the shop had lost the pin that I provided for them and didn't do the job and more then likely assumed that I wouldn't look to find the issue. The owner then came out with a A2 gas block pin and said it would be a two day turn around time to pin the gas block. I called the following Wednesday and followed up at least 6 different occasions to get an update and was constantly told it would be just a few more days each time. Finally on the 31st at the close of business I went to pick up the upper. Only to find there was a significant gap between the upper receiver and rail system, I then asked to have the the rail installed properly before I paid. Yet again there was another confrontation about how I was wrong for wanting the job done correctly not the first time but the second!. After asking why it took 16 days to do the job when I was originally told two days the owner said "I was at shot show,.......you know what!, here's your upper have a nice day!"Then I walked out. The reason there was a gap was because the barrel nut needed to be torqued down just slight more to allow the rails clamping system to properly merry to the upper. But don't fret I the under qualified guy, figured that out in less then 5 mins. I simply just wanted the job done correctly the first time and in a timely manner like any reasonable customer and I received non of that. Regards, read more

Chris has a good thing going here in the area. Ed, the sales mgr, runs a good business. I ordered a pistol online from another company and had it delivered to BRC. It showed up with rust. Ed called that company and described the discrepancy with expert knowledge. He was able to get the company to pay for a good cleaning and rust removal for me. I appreciate the help. Today I came in to pick up a pistol I had dura coated . I stood in line that was well defined cause of social distancing . I was asked by a white headed heavy set man what I needed. He did have a gentleman standing at the counter ahead of me. Once he finished with that gentleman he asked the 3 people standing behind me "How can I help you" and did all of them of course they were all white. It was so bad that the white customers apologized to me as they made their way to the cashier. Once everyone was helped and I stood at the counter all alone . He said "You have my undivied attention". Of course once everyone was attended to and gone. This guy is trash but I will say not to be confused with a older gentleman that works there or any of the guys . Everyone including the gunsmith are professional and very pleasant to work with. This trash of a man is white headed in his 50s and I believe is the owner. I did tell him would never step foot in the store every again. I will never I will die first . I will never support or promote his business like I do with Atascocita Tactical .Where you can get a custom AR 15 build in 24 hours . Had several transfers there and night sights installed on my H&K 45 while I waited. Very good work, friendly and professional. I certainly recommend! Update. I had purchased an AR-15 rifle kit online. I brought the upper with barrel that I purchased myself for Battle Rifle to install and replace the gas block/sight post. They made a mistake and ruined the barrel. They called me and fessed up. Chris ordered a new barrel and it was installed correctly and to my great satisfaction with only a minor delay. My hat is off to these guys who perform wonderfully and are honest and forthcoming. They have my business for sure! read more
