The Spread: We ordered the brisket, smoked chicken, spare ribs, and baby back ribs -- yes, all four -- on one tray lined with butcher paper. It looked like a BBQ fever dream and tasted even better than it looked. The Meats: The brisket was the standout for me. Smoked over real wood for 12+ hours, hand-carved, pink smoke ring, tender all the way through. The baby back ribs were glazed and meaty with deep smoky flavor, and the spare ribs were thick, juicy, and packed with bold bark. The smoked chicken rounded it all out -- moist, flavorful, never dry. The Sides: Rice and peas with coconut milk -- fragrant and perfectly cooked. The 4-cheese mac was outrageously creamy (I kept going back for more). The sweet and tangy coleslaw was the perfect palate cleanser between bites of rich, smoky meat. The Extras: The 4-pack of sliders was a great add -- soft buns, well-seasoned patties, could easily make a meal on their own. The fries were golden and crispy. And the watermelon lemonade Kool-Aid with berries at the bottom? Refreshing, unique, and the perfect closer to an incredible meal. The Space: Big news for fans of Bare Bones -- they've just opened a brand new storefront next door with about a dozen additional tables and plenty of seating for the whole family. No more eating in your car or rushing home with takeout. You can now sit back, relax, and enjoy that tray of smoked goodness the way it was meant to be experienced. It's a welcome upgrade that somehow makes the food taste even better. This is a family-run operation with over 20 years of food experience and it shows in every detail. Bare Bones isn't just good BBQ -- it's a South Florida treasure.

The line must have had 30 people in it, on a Friday morning??? What the heck is this about... I drove off, no time to stop; I am on a work mission. I went to my printer and he said "oh my, it's so worth the wait..." Okay, so I went back - I am not going to talk about the wait because it was worth every minute - I know why people are in line and surrounding the window - this is clear cut: Fabulous meat : jerk checken, jerk RIBS! I could smell the smokiness as it floated through the air, all the spices kicking in - I am salivating... I was hungry, had not had breakfast, now its after 12... Jerk ribs? I never heard of such; that's why I was willing to back! I picked up lunch for me and printer. Let's talk about the rules: NO SIDES! they do not sell sides unless you are placing a catering order. Pre-Order? NO, not unless you are ordering 5 plates and more.... I had the opportunity to meet Chef Tally and his daughter, Tallia (obvious namesake). I almost walked off without sauce. I just cannot tell you how good the meat was - the ribs were so succulent, flavor packed - JERK RIBS. I never thought of it; I have been eating BarBQ forever, this was a twist that I am in love with. Chef has a cool operation, I was wondering how he could serve all those people - he has a killer (as in giant) smoker that gets the job done. My next event, I will let you know how the sides work because I will call Chef Tally's World Famous Jerk for catering! In the meantime, I stopped at Publix for a small side of Southern Potato Salad and I was a very happy camper.

The lines are always long and sometimes they do run out of certain things but it's worth the extra wait! Music is always blasting from the cars that are parked nearby. The people who are waiting are happy and laughing knowing that they are about to enjoy a great meal. I always have to sample a little bit during the drive back home! Definitely a if you know you know kind of thing. 8/10

They have great barbecue sauce, especially their sweet barbecue sauce. Their brisket is on point, but I do not like their chicken wings. I think it would be great if they had barbecue chicken wings, but it is just breaded. The staff is very nice and the food comes out quickly once you order. It can be a little confusing because the menu is on the right side as you come in so instead of looking in front of you, you have to look to the right to look at the menu.

We usually share a meal, but my boyfriend and I were hungry, so we ordered two plates and split everything. Portions wound up being right we ate everything no leftovers. We had the BBQ rib plate with chips and coleslaw, plus the brisket mac and cheese with tots. Each meal came with a slice of cornbread. I do wish they had fountain sodas available, even a nonbrand option would be nice. They only offered canned sodas for purchase, so we each grabbed a Coke. Fortunately, they did provide cups of ice. We waited to open our drinks to conserve them for the meal, and I'm glad we did because everything had a bit of a kick to it. The flavors were excellent, but if you're dining with older parents like mine or younger kids, it may be a little too spicy for their tastes. The cornbread was probably the best part of the meal. I treated mine like dessert and saved it for last. The chips were a bit over seasoned but still good. The coleslaw was very unique, and I ate the entire cup. My boyfriend said the mac and cheese was also great, though I'm allergic to dairy so I couldn't try it myself. He especially enjoyed their Carolina BBQ sauce. One small suggestion: I wish ketchup had been available for the tots. I didn't see any on the sauce station. A line started to form while we were eating, which is always a good sign. The most important thing to note, however, is that although the restaurant is located in a small plaza, the parking lot is paid parking, and the signs are very easy to miss because they're partially hidden by trees. Unless you happen to park directly in front of one, you'd have no way of knowing. Thankfully, another customer asked us, "You paid the meter, right?" after noticing a police officer walking the lot and issuing ticket after ticket. Because of that warning, I was able to run back outside and pay before we got cited. I think it would be in Smoke's best interest to simply ask dine in customers at the counter, "Did you pay the meter?" It would save a lot of people unnecessary hassle. We'll definitely be back. I'd love to try the pulled pork, and according to the menu, they only serve the burnt ends (the reason we originally came in)on Fridays. Looks like we'll be making a return trip on a Friday.

I did like the option of the bbq sauce on the side, the bbq sauce definitely tastes award winning with smokey vibes and vinegar based. At Shorty's, I asked if the 1/4 chicken dish was gluten free. The server said yes it's just baked chicken and I asked about the marinade per the menu. She said it's "Shorty's sauce" so I asked if it's GF and she said she didn't know, so I asked if she can please find out. She came back and said there's no marinade so I went ahead and ordered the chicken. I asked her if she could tell me if any of the table sauces were GF and again "I don't know". I asked if she can please ask someone who would know and no rush. She said she would get someone to come talk to me. Several minutes passed, she brings my food and I ask again about the sauce and she seems bothered and said they are way too busy and probably no one will be able to come talk to me. I wait some more time, and when the next round of meals comes out, we ask again and she reiterated that it's too busy and no manager or chef was able to give her a simple answer about if the BBQ sauce is gluten free. All she said was she knows the bbq is "sugar free or something". So after waiting, I just decided to eat and the chicken was BONE DRY. It felt like sacrilege the way they cooked that chicken until it was nearly powdered. Fast forward and meal ends and the server noticed I didn't eat much and asked why, I said the chicken is dry and she said "oh yeah it's always dry and you couldn't have sauce". ... Anyway, we will not be back. I'm also not convinced that she even brought up the question to manager. As someone who has worked in the food industry for several years, I feel it is the bare minimum to understand common allergens and restrictions that people may have and that they deserve to be taken seriously.
