So many people complimented this place in reviews that we had to try it. We ordered takeout on a Sunday afternoon. Service on the phone was prompt and friendly. For 4 people, we got a pound of the brisket, a pound of jerk pork, a pound of ribs, a pint of greens, and a single order of the cornbread. The brisket, for me, was too dry. It did come with a sauce that others in my group said made it taste better. We all agreed that the greens were too salty and needed to be cooked more. The jerk pork was decent. The ribs were the absolute best. We all loved them and would eat them again. The apple cornbread was delish (and now I want to try making one like it). But at $5, it was a single serving that we 4 shared just so we each could get a taste. The latter two are clear winners. We supplemented our meal with a salad and some BBQ corn on the cob (both were prepared at home). Our takeout meal cost $90. Saw this spot on IG and had to try it out!!! We ordered their 3-meat sampler with Brisket, Baby back ribs, smoked sausage, Mac-n-cheese, tangy coleslaw, and also roasted corn. This is some of THE BEST BBQ we have had in a long time!! The brisket and ribs were so tender and flavorful!! The ribs fell off the bone, saucy, simply delicious Fiancé liked the smoked sausage with their BBQ sauce. Coleslaw was definitely tangy, very mildly sweet, and crunchy. The roasted corn was served differently than I expected, but still good! They cut a cob into small chunks which makes them less messy to eat! We are absolutely trying their Mexican street corn next time! The only mild critique I have is about the Mac-n-cheese. IMO way too salty. I asked for black pepper to try to balance it out. I was really hoping to love this place, but unfortunately the food was pretty mediocre overall. I ordered a little bit of everything: pulled pork, mac and cheese, collard greens, pork & beans, sausage, and spareribs. The pulled pork and sausage were decent, and the sides were okay, but nothing really stood out. My biggest disappointment was the spareribs. They had a very strong smoky flavor, but not in a good way, the smoke flavor honestly reminded me of cardboard and made the ribs difficult to enjoy. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly, the service was quick, and the establishment was clean and well-kept. I have no complaints at all about the service or atmosphere. This restaurant is selling baked brisket as smoked. Does anyone not know the difference? Smoked brisket should have a pink line around the edge. This does not. I visited Barebones today at approximately 7:30 p.m. with my family. The restaurant closes at 8:00 p.m., so we understood that we were arriving close to closing time. However, the reaction we received from the three young ladies working at the counter was extremely unwelcoming. When I stated that my family and I wanted to dine in, one of the employees made a very noticeable facial expression of disbelief, including standing there with her mouth open, as though our request to dine in was a problem. The overall attitude from the employees made us feel as though we were inconveniencing them simply by coming in during the restaurant's posted business hours. We ultimately decided to leave without ordering because of how uncomfortable and unwelcome their behavior made us feel. I completely understand that arriving 30 minutes before closing may not be ideal for employees who are preparing to end their shift. However, if the restaurant is open until 8:00 p.m., customers arriving at 7:30 p.m. should still be treated with courtesy and professionalism. If dine-in service ends before the posted closing time, that should be clearly communicated to customers. This was a very disappointing experience, especially because we came intending to enjoy a meal together as a family. I hope management addresses this with the staff so that other customers do not have a similar experience. read more

I made up a veg platter for me including: mac & cheese, rice and peas, apple corn bread, grilled vegetables, potato salad and coleslaw. So good. My dining friend had the 1/2 portion of ribs, it was a man meal sized amount of food but what she couldn't finish went home. I found prices to be very fair, my only concern was the iced tea which I feel does not come with refills, but I didn't stay long enough to find out. The Mac and cheese was really good- nice and cheesey. But the collard greens- I was so surprised how much I liked them! Usually I get it as a veggie so I can be balanced but I'm not a huge fan. However, bare bones collard greens were actually really good. The brisket I got was decent. I asked for more moist so I did get some fatty pieces but I felt they were a little too fatty in big chunks. But I got what I asked for , so can't complain. They gave a thing of bbq sauce too- wish I got more so I could dip my brisket. I'm sure if I had asked, they would have. I tried the pork jerk. I only one piece cause it wasn't mine. Real Great Food. I really enjoyed the spare ribs- they were fall-off-the-bone-tender and juicy and flavorful. The collard greens were also very flavorful, I fully enjoyed eating them. The jerk pork was also pretty good, a nice spicy that is flavorful and not overpowering -if you can handle spice, go for them. I personally wasn't a fan of the Mac and cheese since it's not baked Mac and cheese, but a lot of the reviews liked the Mac so to each its own. The house sauce was also very very good. I was in the plaza and spotted this bbq spot and decided to try it and I'm so happy I made my way in here! It is one of the best places for bbq I have tried in the area and I will be coming back. I had the full rack of ribs and the ribs were very lean and not too fatty which I love and the sauce did not taste like a bomb of sugar. The sides I tried were Mac and cheese, rice and beans, grilled veggies and corn. Their Mac and cheese is yummy and doesn't taste like craft, rice and beans were good and so were the veggies and my fav was the onion. Their corn is so good and sweet and the staff was very nice and smiling which made me feel very welcomed. let's start with my order. I requested a small collard and the gentleman said I should get a large -- then ignored me and charged me a large. I noticed the rate was high so I asked the lady to check the order and we found it was not what I requested. WHO DOES THAT? next, the lady who took my payment had an attitude the moment I requested my order be corrected. very dismissive for such a simple fix. she then gave me my order with collard green juice all at the bottom of the bag -- when I asked for the golden yellow bbq sauce she became dismissive -- told me I had two already there. I thanked her and then. checked my bag in the car because I live in Aventura and I know my family would like this specific sauce. After noticing the sauce was the regular barbecue sauce I walked back into the store and requested a clean bag and the correct barbecue sauce. She then took the wrong sauces and tossed them into a bucket with even more attitude. At first, she only gave me one barbecue sauce and I had to ask her for two to replace the other two. Not gonna lie I was quite skeptical seeing "jerk" boasted on the sign and not a Jamaican in sight but the execution is flawless and the flavor ring/bark alone should be studied as a guideline for how to prepare jerk pork perfectly. Slaw is light and refreshing with a nice soft crunch against the rich savory meats. Fries are standard but a nice pairing and not too filling. Def get 2 sauces, it's a lil' loose but super yummy. Don't think I've ever had bbq that went down so light and easy, a true testament to the high quality of the ingredients. I lived in Texas for a few years, and never found any BBQ that came close to it here in South Florida . Until I came across Bare Bones BBQ. They have been open for 10 years and it show , best BBQ hand down . I enjoyed the Brisket , so juicy !! The Apple cornbread was delicious.
