My brother heard about this new range online and offered to teach me while he visited over the holidays. We were greeted almost immediately, and as first time guests, we were directed to the laptops along the wall to sign digital waivers and watch a safety instruction video. Once signed in, the info was sent our emails. The waivers are good for a year in case we decide to come back. Everyone was very professional and warm for the most part. As I had never held or used a gun before, and I have small hands, the person who helped us suggested using a smaller caliber handgun (I think it was a Sig Sauer P322 chambered in .22lr). The RSO that day was really nice and helped us out right away when it jammed. Later on, we rented a Sig Sauer P320 chambered in 9mm that felt a lot better. The 9mm felt more solid in general, even with a little more recoil. I also had better accuracy with it too. Even though there were less rounds for it, I personally believe it was the better bang for the buck, so to speak. If you're renting guns, you need to bring a buddy along. There's a 2 person policy for that, unless you're bringing your own equipment. Not sure if you can bring your own ammo too, but if not, you can purchase ammo at the front desk. You can't miss it. In our experience, someone was always around to help or answer questions if needed. Ear and eye protection cannot by rented, so either bring your own or buy some at the front before you go in. Ammo is also pretty expensive here, as is the overall cost to use the range, but I personally think it's worth it. The facilities felt safe, clean, and welcoming. Really appreciated the sinks in the large room before you enter the range where there was lead-cleaning soap available. Just make sure you keep ear protection on while you're in that room as the door to the range opens suddenly sometimes as people come and go. Classes and membership packages are offered too, which I'm considering. Like archery, it can get pretty zen in there finding your focus. Just gotta save up time and money for it like any other sport or hobby. I'd look forward to going back for more practice and getting more familiar with the range.

They have an awesome demo program that lets you demo racquets for 2 months, and your deposit goes toward your purchase. The entire staff was always so friendly, helpful, and informative--I had so many questions about the racquets, and they taught me a whole bunch and talked me through all the things I should consider, and they never pushed me to just buy stuff. Without the demo program and the staff at Tennis Junction, I'd know way less about racquets, and I'm very certain I'd have purchased the wrong racquet for me. Thanks to them, I now have a racquet I know I love and fits me/my style. I'm very thankful for the staff at this store, and will continue to give them my business for re-stringing and any other supplies I need. I've also had my reels spooled here with great turnaround time and my brother also went in and got a rod and reel from them a year or so ago when he needed a new one (he caught a huge rainbow trout the day he bought it too). Locating Shot Tec was and doing my FFL transfer for my new gin was absolutely an upgrade from my previous experience! Grant & his team were friendly, professional and informative. The team offered insight about the gun I had transferred and was helpful when I asked questions about Ammo and holsters! They make a beginner feel valued vs. stupid. Shot Tec is a nice addition that is close to home and I plan to sign up for training classes in the near future.

I've use the fields here for multiple seasons of kickball. The fields themselves are adequate, but not greatly maintained. The center is often closed in the evening, even when a permit to play is issued. That means restroom access is limited (or non-existent). They also have the habit of canceling with even the smallest amounts of rain. Overall, my experiences at Hillside have left me hoping we won't play many games there...
