I've always been told to never bring my car to a dealership for service - they are known for ripping you off. Battlefield Toyota's service center breaks that stereotype - and then some! Every time I bring my Nissan to Battlefield, they only charge me for what I need - no heavy sales pitches and upcharges. Once, I even brough my car in because a branch had been lodged in the undercarriage. I got there right as they were about to close, so they gave me a loaner vehicle until they could check it out. Lo-and-behold - no damage and NO CHARGE. They treat their customers as a service center should - with complete respect. I must add the bonus of all bonuses - the free massage chairs in the waiting center! Who doesn't love getting a free massage while they wait for their oil change?! They also provide free water and coffee in a clean and well-appointed waiting room. I am moving an hour away soon, but I plan on continuing to use Battlefield Toyota for my regular maintenance and service. It's worth the drive! read more

RUN - Don't Walk - AWAY! I normally don't leave reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience. Over several weeks of service visits, I encountered repeated issues that should never have happened at a dealership of this caliber. I dealt with misinformation, unprofessional communication, and a lack of respect in how concerns were handled. On top of that, my vehicle came back with new damage that I had to point out myself. What should have been a straightforward repair turned into weeks of frustration and broken trust. Transparency and accountability were missing at every step. I have used Battlefield Toyota service exclusively since buying my 2014 Toyota Prius c. I purchased it at the Charlottesville dealership, where the purchase process was relatively painless. When I needed my first regular service, I was told I would have to wait at least a week - and told this rudely. This was less than 45 days after I purchased a brand-new vehicle, for a minor 5,000 mile service. Battlefield Toyota Service in Culpeper got me in on the same day, and I haven't looked back. Their new location is comfortable and bright with plenty of seating and wifi. They have a price match on tires and usually meet me at my door and greet me by name. Eddie, especially, is a customer service force to be reckoned with. Battlefield, give that man a promotion and a raise! Nothing bad to say, except I wish it were closer. Even so, it's a only 35 minute drive to Hollymead - totally worth every second. read more

I'm sure I'm not the only one to have what seems like an automatic built-in bias against auto dealer service departments. While there are always a small handful of positive reviews, most tend to lean more in the scathing rant direction. That said, last Saturday we were driving home from a wonderful free classic movie showing ("Stalag 17") at our local Library of Congress theatre, when hubby's 2011 Prius made an odd sound followed by flashing dashboard lights indicating that the hybrid system had cut out. Fingers & toes crossed & clenched, we were able to limp the 10 miles home. Very slowly, but we made it. Called our local Toyota dealer (Battlefield) first thing Monday morning, even though we had purchased the car from a different dealership. Had the car towed over there later that afternoon. Got a call back that same afternoon advising us that 1) the problem with the car was most likely still covered under warranty, which was a huge & extremely happy surprise for us, & 2) that there had also been a recall due to the airbag - something that's been in the news for several years now, yet something we'd never received a mail notice about with our particular car - & they would fix that too while they had the car in the shop. Said it would take a couple of days. I was a bit leery about the warranty part, since we were fully expecting this to be an extremely expensive repair on a 7-year old car that we purchased used from another dealer. But, major happy dance ensued when we got the call Thursday advising that the car was fixed & ready for pickup, & that absolutely everything was covered by Toyota! Icing on the cake? When we picked up the car, it had been cleaned inside & out to the gleaming point. Now while my truck looks like a family of monkeys has been living in it for years, husband keeps his car pretty darn OCD pristine. But after Battlefield Toyota was through with it, I swear you could eat off any part of the interior & would be blinded by the shine on the exterior. Bottom Line: My ingrained bias against dealership service departments aside, I wouldn't hesitate to bring our car to these folks again. read more

I was impressed with my first visit to Battlefield Toyota. I didn't need much done to the car, so my review is on the customer service. After having been jerked around one too many times by the local Toyota service place five miles from my home (Umansky in Charlottesville), I drove 45 miles up to Culpeper. It was worth the trip. The gentleman at the desk pulled up my appointment information and greeted me by name. The lounges were open and airy, with lots of room for social distancing. The services I needed (voluntary recall and a tire rotation) were performed in a timely manner. The staff person assisting me made some recommendations about a matter that should be taken care of in the next few months and offered me some options. When all was done, the car was brought back to where I had dropped it off. I too just wish this were closer. Umansky Toyota in Charlottesville could learn a thing or two about customer service from this dealership. read more

On 5/8/2023 I brought my 2015 Toyota Highlander in for the 70k mile service. I was greeted nicely by at the service desk by Robby Allen. He took my Warranty & Maintenance Guide booklet and promptly began checking off all the items for the 70k service. I asked why was he doing that now, and he responded that often the service techs don't do that. I waited in the clean waiting area for about an hour. Mr. Allen told me my car was ready, waiting out front and to pay at the cashier, which I did. When I went to my car I checked the drivers side floor mat, it had not been properly fastened down to the floor. THIS IS THE FIRST THING ON THE LIST AND EASIEST TO CHECK. I called over Mr. Allen and showed him. He looked, and then awaked away. I yelled that I want the Service Manager to call me. The Service Manager called me within a day or two and apologized for the mix-up and stated he revied a video and agreed several items on the list were not done. Over the next two weeks and me leaving several messages, the General Manager of the dealership called me and made things right. I went to this dealership for service because of their high ratings, so I was disappointed in the service my car received. read more

I experienced a mishap after my car was serviced but Brandon was very quick to resolve the situation. He took care of everything for me and even personally drove my car to my house so I didn't have to take time off work to pick it up at the dealership. We purchased our Toyota Highlander almost two years ago from Battlefield, which was a great experience, but their service department is second to none. I drive an hour, sometimes more, depending on the stop lights, to have my car serviced there. Even though my free services have ended, I will continue to return there because of the quality care that I receive. They always go above and beyond and make me feel as though I am their only customer -when usually the waiting room is packed - to me a sign of a great service department. Best to avoid any of the dealerships with the Battlefield name. More specifically though DO NOT bring your vehicle to the Toyota dealer for servicing or recall work. I typically do all of my own vehicle work, but took my 05 Tacoma to get some recall work done i.e. frame and leaf springs replaced, ect. During the complete tear down of my truck to replace the frame they broke a few items while removing them and wanted me to pay an additional 1,000 in parts and services to get my truck back. I of course argued with them and told them that I wasn't going to pay for something they broke while removing it, because they had to recall the frame. Especially since their rust stricken frame caused the bolts to seize up in the first place. I addressed my concerns with the service manager who was a complete asshole and startrd an argument with me. During which he stated to me he wwasn'tgoing to honor the leaf springs recall because "mine weren't broken". Which last time I checked they didn't have to be physically broken to be replaced under a recall and they were so bad I had added helper springs just to keep them from sagging. So I told them I would come pick up my truck on a roll back in pieces if I had to to get it back. He stated that wouldn't be necessary they would get my truck put back together and I could pick it up.THE VERY NEXT DAY, I recieved a call that my truck was finished. Needless to say I had my concerns about the quality of work that went into putting it back together so quickly when I went to pick it up. I looked the truck over thoroughly and found break fluid leaking steadly from one of the lines they replaced I brought it to their attention and they said they didn't believe it was an issue. I told them no it was and they needed to fix it. As I left the parking lot something about the truck just didn't seem right, so I decided not to bother with their incompetence anymore and take it home and look at it. When I was backing my truck up into my shop I hear a loud clucking noise coming from under the truck and it shook hard. What I found when I lifted the truck startled and enraged me. One side of my rear axle was so loose I could shake it back and forth with one hand battlefield had only hand tightened the nuts on the u-bolts. I also found they hadn't properly bled the brakes to remove the air from the lines they replaced, or refilled the radiator with enough antifreeze. Honestly the list of things I find they did wrong just keeps growing as time goes on. I'm 100 percent positive they don't give two shits about their customers or doing quality work. My wife had to get her 2016 4runner passenger side air bag replaced on a recall recently and we took it to Warrenton Toyota to have the work done. Honestly for better quality or service drive a little further and go to Umansky, Warrenton, Steve, or McDonough Toyota you be much happier that you did. read more

I purchased my 2018 4Runner here at Battlefield about 6 months ago and was not looking forward to utilizing Sheehy Toyota, since I live closeby, for its' service since I've had multiple bad experiences with my 2007 4Runner there. 2.5 hr waits for an oil change service when you have an appointment is not what I want to experience and should not expect. I decided to make the 25 min drive to Battlefield. I made an appointment for the 5k service and showed up on time today. Mr. Huffman got me right in, there was no wait, he got the SUV right into the bays. 23 mins exactly, he came out and said they took care of everything. Unbelievable. I was shocked. I have been a Battlefield customer for close to 5 years now and have never had a negative experience with this business. Many of my family and friends in the area are also loyal Battlefield patrons. Both the sales and service staff are helpful, courteous, kind, and friendly. When I go into Battlefield to drop-off or pick-up my car for service, ask a question, or view the latest inventory, I always feel welcomed and assisted. The service department, in particular, shows incredible customer service and always goes above-and-beyond. Robby, Brandon, Sally, Darryl, Dennis, Steve, and Lee are spectacular employees and managers. Incompetence at it's finest. Dropped my truck off Monday morning to check for possible oil leak. I asked for the PCV valve to be changed as well on my 2008 2.7 Tacoma. I was told it was an internal part and they could not replace it. I sent pictures of where the PCV was from the Toyota Service manual and the Tech still said it wasn't on my truck and it was the wrong picture. When I got my truck back, I took a picture of the exact part he said wasn't there and sent it to the Service Manager who agreed the Tech was wrong and out of line. I was told hoses and spark plugs were pulled to check for leaks as well. There is still dust all over everything that would have had to been handled to do what they said they did. Had they done it, the wires and hoses would have shown where they were pulled apart and free of dust/grime respectively. My truck stayed there two days, I missed two days of work, nothing was done and the original problem still exists. STAY AWAY FROM BATTLEFIELD TOYOTA SERVICE. There is at least one very incompetent Toyota Expert Technician who simply doesn't have a clue and/or does not care about the customer or their vehicle. read more

Went to Battlefield to get my BMW X5 engine cleaned degreased underneath . I had detailed the top end but thought that if car was on a lift that it would be easier for someone to clean it for me. A friend recommended Battlefield Toyota in Culpeper VA. I booked for earliest available which was 9am Nov 7 2016 and was told it would take about an hour and would be $79. I checked in about 9:10 am and waited in their new showroom which was nice and new and gives a good impression. 2 hours later, At around 11:30 i decided to take a walk and check on my car as my phone was in need of charge so i went to see if i had a charger in my car, when i went to service bays i saw my car was parked and had not been touched. I was looking for my charger when a service tech came up and asked me if this was my car i said yes and that i was just looking for a charger for my phone and that i had been waiting 2 hours . He lent me his phone charger ( nice touch) and said my vehicle was next. No sooner had i gone back to the waiting area to charge my phone i see my vehicle being pulled into collection bay (10 mins tops). I thought maybe something was wrong and it could not be done , but to my surprise i was told my vehicle was ready and that not only had they cleaned the engine but that my entire vehicle was detailed inside and out .. which made me smile as i had detailed my entire vehicle inside and out the night before.. and if they had done all that in 10 mins then they were fastest detailers in USA i was given a discount and paid $65 for approx 10 mins work ...which if job was done i would have been happy.. When i got home i put vehicle on jack to look and. All i saw was same oil and dirt that i had before i took it in.. ( i have video of what i found) Long story short i went and bought ramps , engine degrease spray and did the job myself in about an hour.. If Battlefield cant do a simple engine clean and charge $65 to spray water on oil with no attempt to do a clean and charge $65 for 10 mins.. i would not feel comfortable with them doing any kind of maintenance on any vehicle.. read more

When I scheduled my 25k checkup for my 4runner, I purchased a full detail service to clean up the car [ I'd taken it out on the beach 4 times this summer with a 100lb shepherd & a 3yr old, you can imagine it was a wreck]. I dropped it off for the day & picked it up late, after the service dept had already left. The outside looked great, but I was so ready to be home after working all day I didn't check into the interior detail. The next day I saw that some things had been overlooked. So again, after getting off work, I drove over and talked to Mike in the service dept. He took care of it right away; taking it over to the detailing area and having them fix it, and them some. Mike then continued to chat with me while I waited, which was appreciated, because after sitting down at a desk all day, I was'nt interested in more waiting room sitting. Brandon, the service dept manager, even called to apologize about the service, and said the next cleaning is on them. Being a manager in banking, customer service is a big thing for me and these guys truly care about getting the job done right for their customers. Highly recommended! read more
