We recently had our downstairs flooring upgraded in several rooms by Bauer Flooring. I received a few different on site quotes. But I was really drawn to Bauer because their team was noticeably thoughtful as they evaluated my existing flooring, and the strategy they discussed in how best to tackle the project. It was clear that this was a company that took pride in every project they took on, and were not in the habit of cutting corners. It was also a very competitive bid compared to other well-known flooring companies. They did not disappoint. From a duration estimate, professionalism, availability / communication, and quality standpoint, we could not be more pleased. The leveling and floor preparation process alone was something to be behold. Previous to hiring them, I had idle thoughts of taking on our flooring as a DIY. But there's no way I could have done what they did in this leveling process. We had 3 different types of floors across this space, and before they even began the installation, the preparation / leveling could have almost stood as a completed "concrete" floor. I even joked with the installer that just in removing / leveling what we had previously, they had already improved the look and continuity of our flooring. In the end, we're extremely pleased with the vinyl flooring installed as well as the baseboards and the new aesthetic it all creates for our downstairs. I contacted Bauer flooring & Tile after reading great reviews here on Yelp. I had almost gone with another company on Bougainville street but their installation price was exorbitant. Brian stopped by the same day I reached out to discuss my project and verify existing conditions and overall dimensions. We were able to discuss installation details (I dislike transition strips at interior doorways) and decided on a beautiful glue down, eco friendly and affordable vinyl plank. They started the demo during a heavy rains but persevered. The installation crew was wonderful, showed up when expected and were focused on a quality installation. Bauer Flooring has it all, service, quality, price, and trustworthiness. Brian Bauer, Denise, Derek, and Vince were the flooring dream team with the "right stuff". For many years we pondered over our desire to replace our 30 year old carpet and to remedy our very uneven concrete foundation which was the result of the previous homeowner expanding the home in various segments over the years. This caused the foundation to have several control joints with dips and humps. Another shortcoming was that minimal effort was made by past contractors to remedy the high ground moisture. Thus water vapors at times would permeate through the foundation making our carpet feel mildly damp beneath our feet. Upon removing the carpet and exposing the problem foundation, things definitely looked very intimidating since we had chosen vinyl planking to be installed that required a smooth flat surface. Brian Bauer, the owner of Bauer Flooring, did state that our home was the most challenging foundation that they had encountered on the jobsite. Bauer Flooring used a combination of concrete grinding, epoxy bond, waterproofing sealant, and leveling compound to water seal and smooth out the surface in preparation for the underlayment sheet and vinyl planks. Derek and Vince performed the lion's share of plank installation on the floors and steps leading up to the second level. Installing vinyl plank on steps seemed very intricate, and this alone took more than a couple of days to complete. Denise is very detail oriented and does quality assurance spot checks and performs many of the final touches to finesse the job to take it from good to great. Brian dropped by frequently to check on the progress and to pitch in with help. As the owner he is very approachable, humble, and trustworthy in nature. I have known of Bauer Flooring and Tile for many years now as I once served as the head of security for the property that they operate off of, it was from interactions with Mr.Bauer in that capacity that I learned he is a solid guy who likes to get the things he needs to get done done. So it came to pass 7 months after leaving that place for a new job my family decided that we should tear out the carpets in our house and switch to a vinyl plank instead. I immediately thought of Bauer Flooring and Tile and recommended them to the people that make the decisions. Brian and his team were the lowest quote we received so they shook hands on a deal for 5 bedrooms, 2 hallways and a set of stairs. Brian from Bauer Flooring was very professional and kept his word on budget and completion date. I've dealt with many contractors in renovating my condo and this experience by far was the smoothest. What made this project particularly challenging was moving my furniture from room-to-room; he and his crew had to dismantle and reassemble large furniture pieces one room at a time. This added to the level of difficulty. In total, he did my living room and bedroom, taking only five days. They poured concrete, installed flooring, reattached my baseboards without damaging them, reassembled my furniture and put everything back into place. The entire experience was turn key. They even came back to adjust my door hinge on my cabinet that was off, free of charge. As a bonus, he sent pictures every day on the progress of each room to keep the job on track and to ensure that they used the materials that they promised. Brian and Denise work as an awesome team and completed our flooring project at half the cost of the quote from a mainland home improvement chain. I reached out to Brian from Yelp for a quote and he responded immediately. We made an arrangement to measure the areas to be worked on later in the week, and after the inspection, we got the quote later that same evening. To save us some money, he reused our existing baseboards without removing them and added a shoe molding to it to cover the edge of the new flooring. We could never tell and it looked excellent. We hired Brian and his team initially to change the carpet in our bedrooms only but after further consideration, we asked them to remove tile in our kitchen and living rooms and replace it with laminate. We needed carpet replaced with vinyl plank flooring and called Brian. He was very responsive through the whole install. He brought us some choices from his 4,000 SF warehouse of materials. I had purchased some vinyl flooring from Brian and after install noticed some minimal defects in the product. Either through neglectful install or material itself. I called Brian and let him know of the situation . I am an installer and told him my customer had concerns for the finished flooring . They started correcting my floor prep and by the next day he had 3 people and himself on my job installing vinyl. Brian and team has been nothing but awesome. He was willing and able to work with our time schedule and delivered well over our expectation. Brian understood that for every minute a business close it loses revenue so his team work during the early AM hours and got it done before the next day of business. Brian even delivered samples to us so that we did not have to drive to his warehouse! Also we were planning to remove the refrigerator out so that he could do the tiles he said don't have to because they can simply slide it over and work on the tiles and once done they can slide it back! Lastly when i needed a price quote he provided it a heartbeat and his prices are amazing reasonable.
