I took my Trailblazer to this facility to have an alignment done as he is highly recommended by our car club. (no longer the case) I had moved 2 hours north but felt the extra long drive was worth it to get quality work. After he aligned it I left the facility and ended up about 7 miles from his business on a narrow winding road with my front tires pointing in opposite directions. Turns out he didn't properly torque the lower control arm bolts and the left side lower control arm moved all the way to it's furthest adjustment causing a major misalignment. I had to sit there for almost an hour before he got there with a jack to try and get it at least drivable. That was a major fail and instead of offering a flatbed to safely get the vehicle back to his facility I was forced to drive it there on wet roads. The car was a handful and every turn it wanted to slide into the guardrail. He realigned it and tightened those bolts with his impact just like he did previously. I looked up the torque spec of those bolts and it was 190 ft lb! He said for giggles he'll throw a torque wrench on it. He got almost a half of a turn on the bolts before they we're at the proper torque. So they still weren't even close to being tightened properly! One hour into my 2-hour drive back home my car starts handling poorly again and I knew that control arm had shifted. Turns out the first time it moved it scraped the knurling marks off of the control arm that help it to retain its position on the frame. After discussing this with the business owner it was agreed the lower control arm needs to be replaced. I purchased it myself and had it drop shipped to his business. So, now I have another 2 hour drive back to his facility to get that done and have it re-aligned. When I got there he was very unpleasant. He replaced the arm and realigned it. He pulled it outside and told me it was done. I asked if he felt any responsibility towards paying for the control arm and his words were and I quote "absolutely not!" He glared at me and said you have a nice day. In other words get out of my building. So I did. On the way home I realized the alignment still wasn't correct as it still handled poorly and I could tell by the issue that the caster was incorrect as I've been at tech since 1973. I was in process of moving out west so at that point in time I put the car in storage until I could get out west, get settled in and then have it shipped to me. While it was sitting in PA waiting to be shipped to me I had a friend take it and have it realigned at a different business. Turns out he purposely misaligned the vehicle as it wasn't even close. I'll try attaching the before and after alignment sheets here. The vehicle is now back in my possession in Arizona and it handles as it should since the realignment was performed. This gentleman cost me the following: $97.26 for the original improperly done alignment $187.07 for a proper alignment $129.00 in premium fuel driving back and forth to his business twice. 100mi each way. $137.79 for the lower control arm For a total of $551.15. Not to mention: Probably lost a thousand miles of tire wear driving it back to his shop with the front tires pointing in opposite directions. 4 hours of travel time going back and forth to his shop twice 1 hour sitting along the road broke down 7 hours total sitting in his shop 12 hours total of my valuable time wasted plus a bunch of aggravation and money. Kent and Chris both do very good work and are very trustworthy. They have been doing my Pa state inspections and general maintenance for quite a few years now. I'm a car guy and used to do some of my own work, and have a pretty good feel for pricing and knowing when I'm being treated right. I recommend them! They also just invested in a new alignment machine and they know what they're doing. They do lots of large trucks and heavy vehicles, fire trucks, etc., that can't be easy to do. read more

These guys are awesome!!! Had many alignments on different vehicles, as well as other work. At first, they give me an estimate, but once they're in there and see what's actually going on, they stop, call me and tell me what's really going on and how much it's going to be. I had work done here and althought there was a smile on there face, I was slapped with the dollar sign on my back. I need a switch fixed on my car door, 200.00 wow! After re-searching. I called a couple places for a price on the part. I will not recomend this place. In the end, the part was 85.00 and 130 in labor read more

I took my car in to be inspected in April. Had a cracked engine cradle...ugh. Had them give me a quote on paper, scheduled to leave it there next week blah blah. Got a call a few days later, there was some communication error between Bauman's and the place they were going to order the engine cradle from. It was $400 more than they originally thought, they didn't even order it. At this point April was almost over and I drive my car everywhere for my job, needs to be up to date with inspection so I was desperate. I ordered the engine cradle online for a bit cheaper than they had quoted from the other place, but even with the cheapest shipping still ended up paying $100-$150 more than I would have if Bauman's had just eaten the money and ordered the part. Knowing nothing about ordering car parts, it took about 4 days for it to even process. I cancelled my appointment and rescheduled, this time freaking out as it was the beginning of May. During these 3 weeks of hell, I also noticed that my engine had gotten way louder. The guy noticed too, but when I got my car back he flat out said that he didn't even bother checking what was wrong with it. In those 3 weeks I had already made my decision to be done with Bauman's, I stayed polite and took my car which passed inspection. I took it to another place to learn that my alternator needed replaced, easy fix in and out. Now my ABS light, traction light, ESP BAS and 4WD! lights are on the dashboard. I take it to the other place and learn that my back brakes are crap, shouldn't have passed inspection and he can tell they'd been hammered. Calipers on my back wheels either don't work at all or barely. (I checked the PennDot regulations). This should have been caught by Bauman's since my brakes and calipers have to work to pass inspection. Now I have to pay a good amount of money to fix all of this not even a month after it passed inspection. read more
