First time here. We were greeted immediately and seated in a booth. There was a TV on the far wall that was playing what I guess were Indian hit videos. There is an extensive menu that includes a veg or non-veg Thali platter, which is not something I see at most Indian restaurants here. We opted for the Dal Tadka, Aloo Matar, garlic Naan, Masala Chai and a Mango Lassi. The chai can be ordered sweet with milk or without sweetener and milk, as you like. It was excellent without either. The Mango lassi was a little sweet for our taste but they usually are - it was still really good. But the star of the evening was the food. The Aloo Matar was a platter full of peas with some potato accompaniment, all really tasty. The peas were very firm but not undercooked so we wondered if maybe they use fresh peas and we're just not used to the texture. The Dal was fantastic, especially with the garlic naan. We wanted to try their rice pudding but had eaten ourself full so there was no room. We'll be certain to leave some room for dessert the next time we're here! read more

Ate there tonight and it was delicious. Asked for minimal spice and it was perfect. Had the Keema Samosa as an appetizer and the Lamb Special as an entree along with the Garlic Naan. Top it off with a Mango Lassi to drink. The service was great with the waiter frequently asking how everything was. The only worry is that while there were a few takeout orders, I was the only diner in the restaurant at 6:30 on a Friday night. Came here on Thanksgiving Day. We ordered a bunch of dishes. Tarka Dal, roti, salmon tikka, chicken Rasmi Kabob, and chicken biryani. Chicken Kabob was inedible and tasted like old chicken. We threw it away. Other items were okay. Salmon was soft but masala tasted a bit raw. Tarka dal and roti were good. Biryani chicken tasted pretty good as well. This was my first time ordering from Taj Mahal and I was very impressed. I ordered for delivery which had to be over $30. I was really happy to see so many vegetarian options! Everything came with a sweet dipping sauce and a semi-spicy dipping sauce which were really yummy! Everything was very flavorful and the paneer was delicious! The highlight is definitely the Sunday buffet, offering a great mix of options, including a couple of non-traditional dishes for those who aren't into Indian cuisine. The takeout and dine-in options are also excellent, with the ability to cater the spice level to your preference (I find a lot of Indian food in the area to be toned down). You can even get a burger and fries for the kiddos if they aren't into the cuisine (while it isn't great and I wouldn't go there for it, it is nice to not have to make an additional stop at McDonalds) Strongly recommended. read more

Finally decided to go in and try the lunch buffet to get more of a sense of variety for future orders. I walked in and it was fully empty so I had to wait a few minutes to even come across an employee. I told him I was there for the lunch buffet but I don't see any food? He said it won't be available again until 2 weeks from now. So I mentioned that the daily buffet is on the main page of the website and very large on the sign next to the entrance, etc? We came here specifically for the Sunday dinner buffet because I had a feeling my 10 year daughter would like Indian. Well she loved it! The naan bread was scrumptious, the dinners we got came with plain Naan but the owner was very nice and brought us over some garlic Naan to try. I really do like this place even for the faults. The food is delicious but the last 2 times I have ordered in here my order has been partly wrong. The first time they forgot an appetizer, the second time regular naan instead of garlic naan. Both were easily corrected and the food quality is delicious enough to overlook those issues. The paneer 65 is deliciously spicy with that great red sauce. The lamb saag I ordered at a spice level 10 and it delivered. We got takeout here a couple times and were pretty happy. I got a vindaloo curry, and my wife got her usual chicken korma. Mine was appropriately spicy, hers was appropriately creamy--both tasted pretty good and portions were fair. Nans were fluffy and fresh. Of particular note: they have a GREAT chicken tikka kids meal. This inconsistency has happened in the past, but am particularly put off by my most recent experience: Last night I spent over $50 and immediately regretted the purchase when it was delivered. The biriyani was flat out not biriyani. I ordered prior to 8pm on Saturday night, but even if it were the case that things were running out, that should be communicated to the customer. Instead I received white rice with grey chicken, barely turned over in turmeric. Very disappointing. I always order samosas (both types), which were soggy and less flavorful than ever. I'm genuinely surprised how this place has so many 5 star reviews. Makes me wonder if these are paid/ false reviews, or these people have never had good Indian food. We ordered delivery from here - tandoori mix grill, chicken kashmiri, garlic chicken, chicken dum biryani, garlic naan, kids chicken tikki and carrot halwa. Not a single dish was worth ordering again. Curries tasted stale and flavorless with old chicken, biryani had this weird aftertaste of oil, grilled meat lacked salt and spices and was flavorless in general, naan was stale, carrot halwa was just boiled watery mashed carrots. Even the complimentary rice was stale and such poor quality rice (not basmati). On top of that, instead of chicken tikki they sent us tandoori chicken pieces, and they substituted 1 out of our 3 garlic naan with plain naan. My fiancé was craving Indian food and came across Taj Mahal Restaurant on the internet. We saw that they had lunch and weekend buffets and the reviews were good so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is located in a little plaza near a pizza place and a car wash. There seems the be plenty of parking. When we went to the restaurant, we went on a Friday afternoon around 1pm and it was not that many people inside. I assumed we missed the lunch rush. We got to sit anywhere inside that we choose then we were able to help ourselves to the buffet. There was a variety of foods to chose from in the buffet. I particularly liked the butter chicken, curry goat, curry chicken, and the vegetable rice. The naan is available upon request.. And was extremely delicious I might add. I've tried this restaurant twice, the first time was back in January 2021 and I remember the food being good. I tried this place again about a month ago. We got the gobi manchurian, paneer naan, butter chicken, and paneer tikka masala. The gobi manchurian was good, the paneer naan was alright. I'm not sure what went wrong but the sauces of the butter chicken and paneer tikka masala were EXTREMELY sweet. Not sure if they put sugar instead of salt or something but it tasted so bad that we ended up throwing it all out. I will not be eating here again after this. read more
