Instead of buying new pants, i decided to take 6 pairs of jeans to Tuyen to patch the holes and give them a few more miles on them before i bought new ones. They look fantastic! The jeans that had small holes, you can barely tell there was a hole to begin with. The jeans with big holes is noticeable, but it feels very strong and secure, probably more than when I bought them originally! I was slightly taken back by the price to get them altered though. There were some pretty difficult holes to patch, but I didn't know it could have cost me $120. Part of it was my fault for not knowing how much it costs to patch holes to begin with. I was naive in thinking it would be $6-10/ pair of jeans, but I should have asked how much it was to begin with. A learning experience I suppose! Haha. Once she saw my reaction though, Tuyen was very understanding and she was flexible enough to adjust the price which I am very grateful for. She didn't have to do that. Quality work does come at a cost. If you want it done flawlessly and you are willing to pay for it, go to Tuyen's Alteration shop. Thanks to them, I have 6 more jeans in my closet to work with! When I purchased my wedding dress off the rack at Magnolia, they recommended me to A-Z alterations…read more(along with a couple other local shops). She was quick and responsive when I called to schedule my first fitting. The first fitting went perfect, she was super helpful and made some recommendations to make the dress easier to bustle/ wear throughout the wedding. We scheduled the second fitting for about a month which was like amazing turn around! When I arrived to the second appointment she was not there. I stood in the drizzle for 15 minutes and called like 3 times before giving up. I called multiple times the next few days and never heard back (super anxiety enduring for a bride)! My (now) husband ended up stopping by her shop during regular business hours and managed to get her to call me back. Turns out there had been some mishaps with her keys and she locked herself out of her store. We were able to schedule the 2nd fitting and everything went well. I did loose a little weight though and she recommended coming in a week or so before the wedding for final alterations in case I lost more or fluctuated again. I called to schedule something about 10 days before the wedding and she was shocked, saying it was not a lot of time but she would do it. She ended up turning it around in a weekend and the dress fit perfect! Her quality is fantastic, but communication wasn't my favorite. Generally cost was about what I expected for the area and luckily I got my dress on a fat discount so I had the wiggle room. I don't think my experience was the worst case scenario and probably not the typical - overall I would recommend but maybe only planning your appointments during her normal open hours!
