Tom at Bay Arborist did a fantastic job removing a large tree for us on short notice. We called him on a Tuesday, he visited the house on Wednesday, and removed the tree Friday morning. When I initially called Tom, I requested that he prune three trees in my yard. I don't have large trees, but only small and medium sized trees so Tom was able to come over without a crew. So, I was able to have an arborist with 20 plus years experience thin and reduce my trees. He worked steady for about 5 hours and did a fantastic job. Tom made suggestions when appropriate and I am completely satisfied with the results. He is very focused on all the details and the trees look healthy and beautiful. Tom is a fantastic arborist. I contacted him about 2 years ago when we began designing our home in Lafayette. We needed a report regarding the health of trees on the property and also got a little education about the trees along the way. There was one tree on our property that was split, likely from a lightning strike years prior. Half of the tree appeared to be in pretty good condition and we had planned to keep it. It was a big tree (too big to fail in my mind). However, thankfully Tom encouraged us to remove it because he questioned it's long term stability. About a year later, we were still processing permits to begin construction when a storm blew the remaining tree over. We recently had three large Italian cypresses taken out of our front yard. Sandwiched between the driveway, our neighbors fence and roof and a telephone line, it looked like an impossible job. An hour later all three were gone. Tom is an expert and an absolute master at his profession. All the limbs and debris were hauled away, the driveway and street swept and cleaned. Tom was recommended to me, by my son. I had him remove a 20 year old olive, and large plum tree. He pruned two other large trees, took out quite a few shrubs and some small trees. For my job, he worked by himself. He's quiet and methodical. He didn't over prune the trees, and they looked quite nice after their much needed trims. He did a great job of cleaning up, and I was very happy with the work. We agreed on an hourly rate, which was fine with me, I knew I would have more requests. Tom came out to my home and removed a Cypress tree that was growing next to the corner of my home. It was very tall and leaning over the roof. It only took him and his helper 3 hours to cut the tree down and remove all the branches and wood. I am very pleased with his work and the price he quoted. The cleanup was spotless.
