Target after the Bay Area Tactical pistol 2 class. They helped me fix my grip, target acquisition and trigger pull and reset.
    Stephen R.

I started taking classes with BAT a few months ago and words can't really describe how amazing my experiences have been, how welcoming everyone is and the knowledge that the team at Bay Area Tactical has. I've taken their pistol 1 and 2 courses and the rifle/pcc 1 class. All the instructors were polite, willing to help and friendly. Safety is a key factor for me and I never ever felt unsafe. The team helped me transition from an old school way of shooting to the new way and also fixed my grip and eye issue. The results speak for themselves. ( see picture). I'm about to sign up for the rifle/ pcc 2 class and I seriously can't wait. Whether you're new to shooting or want to hone your skills Bay tactical is the way to go. After the classes I've taken I wouldn't go anywhere else.

    Passed with flying colors

Beyond the knowledge transfer, the vibes at BAT were immaculate. I applied for my CCW initial in 2023 in San Mateo County and was searching for a vendor to complete my qualifications. For context, I am an active USPSA A-class Carry Optics competitive shooter--my member number is A128082 for verification--and a martial arts instructor of 15 years. In an informal setting, I've practiced and trained with a variety of LEOs, first responders, and military personnel, from South Bay agencies to the Sacramento area. Lastly, I placed 8th out of 115 shooters in a CCW-specific competition and 2nd in my division. This isn't a flex, just context for my experience. I was recommended to BAT by a close family friend and best man who also shoots competitively and got his CCW through Alameda County. He reassured me that BAT was simply meeting its deliverables regarding the CCW process, although he did express that there were some conflicting ideologies. However, he also said he would do business with BAT again, purely because of the positive vibe and communal environment they created. My Class Experience My first introductory class was with Norman Ho. He spoke with an attractive charisma that made the class content easy to absorb. Norman was also very good at explaining certain laws and policies with a strong but unbiased point of view. This was important to me because, often, instructors will claim a concept is the "end-all" solution. For example, if instructors say "slow is fast," I'll tell them they are mistaken, as times and how we fight have changed. Slow is slow, and fast is fast. I don't know when anyone won a fight with a slow punch. Good news: BAT and its instructors didn't say or express anything like that. My first shooting instructor was Chris. He is awesome, plain and simple. Things started off a bit intense when he instructed an incompetent student to lock back their slide as a safety protocol, and they simply couldn't do it. Chris made it very clear that this was an important function to know as a gun owner--and more importantly, as a CCW holder. I 100% agree and was glad he did that. Once he learned about my experience, he acknowledged it and expressed that he didn't need to give me as much attention. While I appreciated that, I also told him that I was a student first and foremost and was still there to learn, which he also appreciated. He's a great teacher, very adamant in his teachings, and very funny. My next instructor was Greg. While Chris was amazing, I was glad to work with another instructor for variety. Greg is a former LEO from Detroit who worked in executive protection, and he has seen some things! He was also the instructor who gave me the online PowerPoint, which I'm sure wasn't easy, but he still made it interesting. When we did our first grouping of five shots on a 7-yard target, I essentially did a regular Bill Drill in a six-inch circle. Greg exclaimed, "Wow, you know something, don't you?" It was a nice, lighthearted joke. I gave him context on my experience but still told him I was a student first and foremost. He appreciated that, and I appreciated his acknowledgment. We passed the qualification, and we continued to converse and exchange knowledge. Why BAT Stands Out What made me want to stick around with BAT was the cool environment and attractive energy. I just wanted to talk shop and shoot more. Just like other gun enthusiasts, we enjoyed sharing what gear we run, what holsters we rock, and our optics preferences. It was great! The important part about this overall experience is that they didn't downplay my shooting experience as a competitive shooter; they embraced it. That's huge to me because, in the world of tactics among civilians and LEOs, implementing competitive shooting in their practice is inevitably beneficial. The only downside was that Greg challenged me to keep shooting faster, haha. My final thought: I am confident that I will continue to give BAT my business and refer my network for as long as I can carry.

There is a parking garage with plenty of space, as well, there is accessible spots curbside around and close to the main building. All & all, my overall experience and in my personal perspective/ opinion, everything went extremely smooth, and I walked away with a smile and a positive feeling.... When you enter the main entrance at the 1900 building, you simply go straight to the elevator, and turn left on the first floor of course, and the classroom is right there on your right - room # 150. The moment you arrive, there is a reception desk, which I was greeted by our instructor: Kaaren. There a restrooms and vending machines close by when needed. As well, I was pleasantly told when I arrived, there was tea and coffee and fridge close by. Basically, the classroom was comfortable, adequate size, and there is large outdoor attractive patio on your left.... Between the combination of slides/ video , hands - on equipment, and your instructor , the three- hour course was extremely enjoyable , pleasant, and without and pressure whatsoever. Besides my personal overall experience, all aspects of this fairly new course/ location are pleasant and relaxing. I highly recommend registering for your required CPR class right here. I'm very confident you will be happy and pleased with your experience . Lastly , I would like to give props and my personal referral and thanks to our INSTRUCTOR: Kaaren.... By the end of her time, she was able to write her name, perform with her class in front of an audience of parents and families, and was just overall confident and happy. She adored her teachers and did so many great art projects. It honestly made our transition to a new school harder, because she missed her old school so much. Additionally, I took great comfort in the steps they took to keep our kids safe when COVID was so uncertain and the restrictions were ever-changing. Plus, the catered lunch/snack each day and the extended hours were AMAZING for us as busy working parents. Full disclosure, this is an "old school" place which was an adjustment for us -- so many of my friends receive texts, photos, videos, and multiple updates throughout the day from their kids' care providers. At Foster City Preschool, they welcome phone calls from parents, but the only real updates you get are handwritten on the bulletin board each day by the teachers. This was difficult at the beginning when she couldn't communicate what she did each day, but as she got more comfortable, older, and more verbal, it was pretty fun matching the teachers' letters to her own accounts of the day! Overall we recommend Foster City Preschool and plan to send our younger daughter here before SMFCSD as well.

It was like we were there with her throughout the day, and what days they were! Vika is a master at designing activities that are fun, original, and educational. The kids learned to use so many different mediums of art, each with different sensory experiences. The crafts our daughter brought home were legendary. I have kept so many of these pieces, and some are even hanging in my her room. They're literally art. There is so much singing, dancing, and outdoor play during every day. My kiddo learned how to count to 16 and started learning her ABCs by the time she turned 2. Vika is also an excellent chef. I found myself getting jealous of the amazing lunches and snacks she provided the kids. She prides herself at shopping at local farmers markets and cooking with the freshest organic ingredients. I learned so much from her and still use her recipes today. But, more important than all of these things, Vika is one of those rare people who seems to have been born to be with children. Her love for them, and the way she understands each of their personalities and adapts her style to their needs is a joy to witness. My daughter forged some amazing friendships with the other kids in her daycare, many of whom we are still friends with today. My kiddo often came home with her hair in fancy hairdos with braids and sparkly clips and sometimes a hidden stuffed animal in her bag (just because she loved it and Vika thought she should have it). I never doubted that my baby was with someone who loved her all day when she was with Vika. Not only that, but someone who was extremely competent and who put her safety above all else. I honestly don't think anyone will ever measure up to Vika. If you ever find yourself lucky enough to find a spot for your child with her, do not hesitate.

Since I was new to the area, I invested in my relationship with Michelle, and it has been one of the best decisions of my life. Michelle's acumen assures clients receive the best care, with the most qualified practitioners and she walks you through the process, step by step. She doesn't just deliver the names of the best of the best in their respective field, she also advocates for you from the outset, sorting through priorities, finances, resources. She is warm, kind, direct, and if you work with her she will make sure expectations are managed, which is pretty amazing because the results have each time surpassed my expectations. Also, the relationships she has are so specific so that, for example, the best surgeon for rhinoplasty is not the same surgeon to perform a different surgery and, similarly, the best person to do fillers for one area may be unique to one practitioner, while another practitioner might be better at something else. Her referrals are that specific. Also, the doctors she refers to are not just skilled in their work, but are also open, receptive to their patients, kind, humble.
