I had a Dragon bowl previously at the Portland location and I thought it was just what my body needed so I got it again but without peanut butter. I was shocked at how quickly the freshly made bowl came out and also shocked at how long it stayed very thick and frozen for, especially since it was a hot summer day. The bowl was delicious as always and I immediately wished I could have a second. The bowls are really really loaded with cold, thick smoothie (acai or dragon fruit base), fresh fruit on top, Grandy's Organic oats (local), peanut butter, Nutella, or honey drizzle. It's a feel good, super food, meal that I'm officially addicted to.

I enjoyed this so much because of the multiple flavors, and textures. The fresh fruit, the crunchy granola, and the sweet Nutella are the perfect dessert! Both the açaí and mango bases are sweet, which I love, but I could imagine pairing a less sweet base, like the banana, with a more sweet base like mango. I'll have to try that next time. I've seen some people on other Playa Bowl listings across the country complain about the price, but here in the 207 some of you are paying $10 for two bites of an overpriced hand roll. I'd much rather pay $9 (16 ounce) to $11 (20 ounce) for a filling smoothie. And they're currently open 8am to 8pm. Where else can you get a smoothie past 4pm in Maine? There are about 30 flavors that all look amazing, but extremely unhealthy. Which brings me to point two: somehow these 16 ounce shakes are only about 230 calories, with 24 grams of protein and relatively low carbs. How is this possible? I'll just assume it's magic and enjoy these delicious shakes. Things to consider though: -The price is ridiculous. After tax it is $7.83 for a shake, plus the screen asks for a tip. So nearly $9 for a protein shake is excessive, even for Falmouth. -There are most likely loads of artificial ingredients to make these taste so good. I don't personally care, but you might. -Surprisingly the calories are not listed on the menu boards for any items. The owner explained the shakes to me, but this is odd. There are protein iced coffees, workout teas and smoothie bowls I'd like to try as well, but for now, I'll be dreaming of my next shake.
