Delicious acai bowls, and very generous toppings. Acai held together well and didn't melt. Highly recommend!

Our waitress was incredibly friendly, sweet, and attentive. The food was delicious, and with nine people ordering all different items, everyone left happy. My personal favorite was the breakfast tacos--they were fantastic. The homemade jam was also a big hit at our table. What really stood out to me, though, was their homemade maple turmeric hot sauce. It was so good that I kept putting it on everything. I honestly wish they bottled and sold it because I would have bought several bottles to take home to Arizona and give as gifts to my coworkers. Great food, wonderful service, and a fun atmosphere. We would definitely come back the next time we're in Maine.

The wait staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was attentive and made sure to check in often. 3.5/5 - food. This was difficult because of the Portland food scene being so competitive. Overall, it was just average. The homemade hot sauce has the tiniest kick, but adds good flavor. Dishes were unique but didn't come off as anything to write home about.

My daughter loves the Açaí Nutella bowl...she gets it very time...and I don't blame her...it is so good! I however like to try something new. This time I tried a half & half. You can get two different smoothie bases in one bowl and select any bowl topping. I tried the Nutella Bowl with half mango and half Açaí. It was so delicious! I enjoyed this so much because of the multiple flavors, and textures. The fresh fruit, the crunchy granola, and the sweet Nutella are the perfect dessert! Both the açaí and mango bases are sweet, which I love, but I could imagine pairing a less sweet base, like the banana, with a more sweet base like mango. I'll have to try that next time. Also just have to say that the bowls/toppings are exactly as shown on their website/in app...it is really amazing how the photo and the real thing match exactly. Very impressive quality control! They do have a loyalty program...which I just signed up for today (probably should have done this sooner), and a mobile app for mobile ordering. I only gone there in the evening and it has not been busy so our order was ready really fast every time, but I could see using the mobile ordering during busier times.

If you flip your smoothie upside down (the old DQ Blizzard Test) and it doesn't fall out... that's…read moremy kind of smoothie. I want it so thick that it's only very nearly impossible to suck up through a straw. Also, it can't taste only like bananas. And finally, it can't have chunks. So, so many places in Greater Portland just don't have what I'm personally looking for (creamy, flavorful, and thiiiiiiiiiiick)... but Playa Bowls does. Listen, I know they're a chain, and I know they're way too trendy for someone like me, but the smoothies are done right here. I've tried a couple: 1. Orange Power (orange, pineapple, coconut milk, sub their usual protein powder for the vanilla plant protein powder instead): It's like a creamsicle from when you were a kid! I would really like to try other smoothies, but this just keeps being my go to. Sure, it can be a little gritty from the protein powder, so if that's not something you're used to heads-up. I am, so it's barely noticeable. The 90's called and they want their summer back, and I'm here for it! 2. The Dang (banana, wheat grass powder, peanut butter, cinnamon, almond milk): I wouldn't usually order something like this, but it was so much better than I was expecting. Rich, earthy while still being subtly sweet, and really hearty for a smoothie if that makes sense. Absolutely would reorder! I think the two biggest challenges/negatives here are that a) the music can be overwhelmingly loud (if you get sensory overload, prepare yourself) and b) the wait times can be loooonnnnnnnnng. I've seen some people on other Playa Bowl listings across the country complain about the price, but here in the 207 some of you are paying $10 for two bites of an overpriced hand roll. I'd much rather pay $9 (16 ounce) to $11 (20 ounce) for a filling smoothie. And they're currently open 8am to 8pm. Where else can you get a smoothie past 4pm in Maine? Go ahead, I'll wait. #WelcomeToPineappleLand

The…read morePeanut Butter Banana is so rich and creamy that I'd prefer it to any ice cream shop shake. There are about 30 flavors that all look amazing, but extremely unhealthy. Which brings me to point two: somehow these 16 ounce shakes are only about 230 calories, with 24 grams of protein and relatively low carbs. How is this possible? I'll just assume it's magic and enjoy these delicious shakes. Things to consider though: -The price is ridiculous. After tax it is $7.83 for a shake, plus the screen asks for a tip. So nearly $9 for a protein shake is excessive, even for Falmouth. -There are most likely loads of artificial ingredients to make these taste so good. I don't personally care, but you might. -Surprisingly the calories are not listed on the menu boards for any items. The owner explained the shakes to me, but this is odd. There are protein iced coffees, workout teas and smoothie bowls I'd like to try as well, but for now, I'll be dreaming of my next shake.

The space is big and spacious, though it felt quite empty. They could definitely benefit from adding more chairs, tables, and brighter lighting to create a cozier atmosphere. But since it was their first day, I understand they're still working things out. The menu is well-balanced, offering just the right amount of options--not overwhelming, but enough to choose from. They have both small and large sizes available. I tried their special Dubai Pistachio Bowl and swapped the base to pitaya instead of açaí, which was super easy to do. The small size was just right for me, and I really enjoyed the flavor of the bowl.

The inside is very sleek, modern, and plain - a very non distracting place to sit although there is continuous music and few seats so I would maybe not attempt to do work here. There were tons of options on the menu, including things like collagen boosters and immunity boosters. It is also very reasonably priced compared to other smoothie bowl places in the area, even for açaí and seasonal specials. I thought it was delicious, the presentation was lovely. There was one guy working there who was both taking orders and preparing food which i could see being a fallback if it were the busy season but he was so helpful and friendly and did a great job. The bowls are SWEET for sure but it appears to be agave and they're delicious so I absolutely loved this spot, will return!
