I have been here hundreds of times and my experience has been overall positive. there is no doubt that the smoothies are absolutely top-tier. the service is convenient and usually fast. BUT- the staff turnover is pretty quick. there must be a reason for this. one thing I have noticed though is that the staff can sometimes be a bit rude. i think this may have to do with the extremely busy, fast-paced, stressful, and crammed work environment they are in. besides this concern, my only real complaint is when I order a $10 smoothie and they don't even fill it up all the way(it feels incredibly inconsiderate of my money. there are other things that could be improved, such as the "star" point system that allows you to get a free smoothie at 10 stars (1 star per purchase) that still charges my credit card for the so-called "free" smoothie reward. read more

The Juicery is Portland's answer to the unfortunate lack of Jamba Juices on the East Coast. What I love about their smoothies are that they are consistent in flavor, quality, and (well) consistency! I find that countless smoothie spots water down their drinks, but that isn't a problem here. Every smoothie I've had has been rich, creamy, and delicious. As a creature of habit, I typically go for the Peanut Butter Bliss (banana, peanut butter, chocolate almond milk) and add in spinach or kale to give myself the illusion of a healthy choice. You can't go wrong with the Bermuda Bliss, Kali Mango, Whoa Nellie, or any of their juices, either. Although I do miss calling this place 'Maine Squeeze', as it had such a nice ring to it, the Juicery is my go-to spot for smoothies in Portland and I hope they will continue to be around for a long while. The one downside of their (excellent) location is that the inside is too small to truly sit down and savor your smoothie (or bowl, or juice), meaning it's primarily a takeout-only place. Popped in here on vacay for a carrot juice. Everything is made fresh and right in front of you. It was a little slow but all juice places are like that. The ingredients were fresh and everything tasted really great. My boyfriend is on a carrot juice kick and he loved it. I may have taken almost all their carrots this morning. They do everything in front of you in an open space. There is little standing room if it gets crowded but we made do. The only thing is I wish the door was a push (for going out) it's hard to carry numerous juices and try to open the door :) we almost had a tumble but thankfully not. read more

We came to Portland for 4 days and this was our breakfast every single day. Why waste extra calories on breakfast items you can eat anywhere (eggs, bacon, toast, and friends) when you can start your day with a delicious smoothie and save those very calories for local beer, craft cocktails, lobster rolls, oysters, and ice cream? Not only were these smoothes a healthy start, but they tasted great. I wish we had something like this at home. Well, we kinda do, but not really - not quite the same. I quickly became attached to the Maine Blueberry, adding strawberry or mango, sometimes spinach, and always hemp protein. The smoothes on the menu are well thought out, and are customizable if you wanted to add or drop any ingredients, like I did. Not only did they taste great, but they were COLD. There's nothing worse than a smoothie made with room temperature ingredients and no ice. Huge pass. The best part was ordering online ahead of time so they were ready in the 13 minutes it took to get there from our hotel just outside downtown. Also, unlike some other "online ordering" situations that were built like more of an afterthought, this one was easy to navigate making it very easy to build an order without getting annoyed. This leads me to COVID stuff: I recommend ordering online. It's very much a grab and go situation, and people wait outside for their orders. Next time we come to Portland I look forward to actually being able to go in the store, but we'll still probably order online given how easy it was. Go nuts with your flavor combinations and whatever you do choose, I can assure you it'll be excellent. And very cold. read more

I got the Bahama Bliss which was super flavorful. There isn't anywhere to sit but a little spot to stand talk and drink. The employees here were an absolute wreck. I ordered two juices and it took them about 30min to make both of them. I understand there was only one juicer but on top of the wait the employees were rude as hell. The girl that was on smoothie duty quiet literally yelled to the person in line behind me "can I get you something". After about 20mins of waiting on the street for our name to be called, my mom went back into the store and asked about the juices. While she was in the store another employee with thick eyeliner came back into the juice bar from a door over and aggressively shut the door, locking the employees and my mother in. I wish I was making this up. One of the girls said "honestly thank god" when she slammed the door shut. The only helpful employee was the blonde boy who than proceeded to try opening the door back up with a knife. In his efforts to open the door, my mom received the juices. She let me know that the extra charges will be refunded and the store manager and staff will be asked to make customers aware of any up charge. Very prompt and fair! I will give them another try. ************** Original Review ************* I ordered a bowl and asked for the banana to be removed and replaced by the berries, which were already a part of the bowl (not a new item). My bowl had bits of banana when I ate it. Upon receiving the email receipt, I saw that I was charged extra for berries. I don't understand this logic. Remove 1 item + replace that space with more of what is already a part of the bowl = extra charge for 2 things. I don't follow. As a customer, I don't mind paying for what I ordered. But, I would like to be made aware of extra charges so that I can make an informed decision myself.
