I'm a widow and getting the car fixed and painted was a big, stressful headache for me. Kathy is absolutely wonderful to deal with, polite, kind and professional and so is the Owner of this establishment. They truly did a beautiful job. The paint job is seamless and the car looks gorgeous again. They also caught a few structural issues and that also was handled by them. The lowest bid I got was over $6,000.00 and went as high as $12,000.00. They did it for thousands$$$ less. But the beauty of it is their workmanship, they really know their craft. So to all the ladies out there having to deal with an accident or damage to your vehicle, do yourself a BIG favor and give them a call, Kathy is wonderful right from the first phone call and will help you and save you thousands going somewhere else. I didn't think I was going to find a shop like this and almost gave up. They are the nicest people, honest, professional, and not outrageous in their pricing, and I would know after going to a dozen different shops, all acting like they were doing me a favor, "normally we charge $8000 but for you mam we are willing to do it for $6500". My mom's Accord had accumulated years of side-swipes and fender benders, and she wanted to have it all finally fixed. It was all going to be out of pocket. I used yelp's "Get Pricing" quote tabs is collect some quotes. Most shops responded by telling me to come in, so they could give me an estimate. Not even a ball park figure. Um, why did I go to all the trouble of taking 5 clear shots of all the work I needed and including a concise description of exactly what I wanted to be done only to still have to come in for the quote? I mean why offer the quote option at all? So only a few places actually sent me quotes. Those are the only ones I engaged. Thankfully, one of them was Bay Colors Refinishing. Their quote of $3000 was the lowest, tied with another shop. The others were $3500 and above. I decided that it would be between Bay Colors and the other shop since they offered the same price and both averaged 5 star reviews. So I took it to both of them to get estimates based on actual visuals. Really, who has the time and trunkloads of gas money to go to all these other quote-less guys? I went to Bay Colors first. Kathy who handled communication was great. Always prompt and friendly. When I got there, the owner, Tri (like in tree) was under a car doing work, but soon stopped just so that I could get the estimate quickly. He said he would honor the quote of $3000. I was pleasantly surprised he was actually willing to straight honor the quote! I drove to the other place. The guy making the assessment quoted $4700! I almost laughed, but bit my tongue to be nice because at least he had let me use their restroom. As I was quietly and hastily side-stepping back to my car, he saw I was trying to escape, and quickly said, 'How much were you looking for?" Me: "Um, $3000..." Him: Silence. I would've burned rubber out if there, but didn't want to push the Honda's older engine. I also wanted to rush home to check the mirror to see if my smile was somehow seriously betraying a gullible-fool face. I mean how do you hike it up $1,700?? Even if you were thinking you were willing to come down half of that during bargaining, do you really believe I would accept $850 over the online quote?? Not to self: Adjust smile to look more intimidating and less moronic. (If you want to know the name of the shop, message me. I didn't actually use their services, so I don't feel like calling them out.) Another thing I also appreciated about Bay Colors is that after bringing my car in, Tri did find things that could have legitimately hiked up the price. But he said even with the extra work, he would stick to the quote. I got the sense that he truly wanted to help take care of me and my car, not just rack up a quick buck. So I chose Bay Colors and eventually dropped the car off there. When I was about to leave Kathy asked me how I was getting back home. I told her I would be BARTing back to Oakland. They ended up calling and paying for an uber to take me to the BART station! One of the best customer service experiences of any kind I've ever had. After a few days, I went to pick up the car and it looked great! I did notice that the hood still didn't completely close all the way as I had mentioned when I first brought it in and pointed it out to Tri again. He soon went to work on it quickly, and made sure it closed right. On top of that they had even meticulously vacuumed the interior! I'm really glad I chose Bay Colors. Even though it's in Hayward, and I had to BART down from Oakland, it was definitely worth the trip! read more

I recently had a minor incident with my 2024 Escalade V, where I accidentally ran into the garage and damaged the spoiler. What to do? I reached out to a local Bay Color Refinishing Auto-body shop being all stressed and worried I was surprised by how easy it was to make an appointment. Wow, what a phenomenal experience. I love that they don't play games, get straight to the point and honor what they quote. The price is extremely competitive and makes the drive out there worth it. Some other companies wouldn't even give an estimate and stated that I needed to go in to get a quote for very minor damage -- no thanks. I messaged Tri on Yelp and he quickly provided an estimate. He let me know I could drop off the car and he would get it back to me the next day (you read that correctly!). The straight forward communication with no pressure won me over. The morning I showed up, Guy mentioned that he was expecting me and was told by Tri to prioritize my car. It was surprising that I didn't have to provide my name, or explain what my issue was. It made everything so seamless to drop off my car and get going. It really felt like royal treatment! Guy is a wonderful face for the company because of his customer service. He's personable and extremely easy to talk to. I felt very well taken care of throughout the entire process and could not stop talking about my experience to my family and coworkers who couldn't care less. A company's service is what gains a customer's loyalty and they have mine. The price is unbeatable and work is phenomenal. Other companies I was getting quotes from mentioned that they wouldn't even attempt to repair the plastic trim (diffuser) and I would have to get a replacement part to swap it out (a $300+ part). I was willing to just leave it as is, but Tri and his team were able to get it looking brand new! Wonderful experiences really stick with me and I'll be remembering this for a long time (even though they probably already forgot about me and my car). I really don't like writing bad reviews; however, I was involved in my first car collision and knew I needed to find a place to get my car fixed. My insurance told me they can recommend places, or I can find my own. So, I was calling places to get an estimate, and this place was the first place I called to see if I could come in for one. The person I spoke to on the phone was plain rude, and the tone sounded annoyed just by asking him questions, and him telling me there's no need for an estimate, just come in and get your car fixed here. I told the person was talking to on the phone (don't remember his name) to let me think about it. Since he was rude to me, I just wanted to end the call and find somewhere else that was nicer and friendlier than him. Honestly, as a business, I think that if someone is calling in regarding getting their car fixed, and asking questions, you as a business shouldn't be rude to the possible client just by them asking questions . I know this is long, but really wanted you to know how they helped me out. My car was stolen and the ins comp had it sent to Lexus to have them check it out. The funny thing is Lexus originally quoted me $19,000, for cosmetic work only that didn't include paint, tires or rims that emoji says it all. The car was there for 2 weeks & the only thing they did was change the oil & the coolant. NOW, why did that take 2 weeks I don't know. Now, I'm stressed trying to find a body shop close to me. I chose Bay Colors Refinishing not only because of their reviews on Yelp, but the quote that Tri provided me for repainting my hood was a really good price compared to other body shops that I looked into. I reached out to Tri on Friday, and he was able to fit my car into their schedule as long as I was able to bring in my car before 5p, and that I could get my car in a couple days. Thankfully, my husband and I were able to come by his shop before closing time, and we dropped off my car that same day. Tri and Guy were professional and friendly when we were at the shop, also making some small talk with us while I filled out paperwork. Fast forward to Saturday afternoon and Tri reached out to me saying that my car was finished; even sending me a picture of my car. Tri and Gus really helped us out and did an outstanding job! We unfortunately had multiple car issues over a short period of time. 1st was our new Hyundai Santa Fe. Our almost new car was hit in a Home Depot parking lot. Tri and Gus fixed her back up to look like new again! 2nd was a Volvo sedan we were selling for an elderly relative who had banged it up backing out of a gas station. I can't recommend Bay Colors Refinishing enough! Tri and Guy are true masters of their craft. I bought a used Civic from a dealership in 2018 that failed to disclose prior damage to one of the doors. The paint, which turned out to be more like bondo, started peeling and exposed the metal, leading to significant rust. I procrastinated on getting it fixed for years, fearing it would be outrageously expensive which only made the damage worsen over time. I was shocked to see how well this place fixed up my Mazda. Me and one of my buddies looked at it and didn't even believe what we saw, especially for a just pulling out and repainting the rockerpanel of my car. Looked like they replaced the entier rocker until you get up close. I can't say enough about Bay Colors Refinishing! Tri, the owner was so great to work with. I bought a previously owned 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera S and after I purchased it, not only did it need some work in some areas like the rocker panels, I learned that the previous owner had some other areas painted that did not quite match the original paint. It was very subtle and I didn't notice it until after I bought the vehicle, but I also love the vehicle so much that I was determined to just fix it and move ahead. In the end, Tri and his team matched the original paint and finish perfectly and addressed all the little issues that ended up being quite complicated. He had to blend some panels to basically avoid painting most of the car. To be honest I think the work is magic, how he's able to repair specific areas, match paint and finish so perfectly that you can't even tell it was re-painted in the first place. Price wise, Tri is extremely competitive. I ended up paying Tri a little more because I think he went above and beyond the original price he quoted me. Anyway, in summary, Tri was a pleasure to work with and he delivered amazing results.
