Amazing(ly Positive) Experience When the error message "Blind Spot Malfunction" appeared on the screen of my 2017 Toyota Rav4 one Wednesday afternoon, I made an appointment for warrantee work and took it to Hayward Toyota the following Wednesday morning at 9:30. At 4 PM Saturday afternoon (that's right, THREE DAYS and multiple excuses later) I was told that the sensor was undamaged but could not be realigned because the bracket to which it was attached had been bent in a collision -- the evidence for which was a scrape mark on the right-rear "bumper" which, I have to admit, could have occurred in Trader Joe's very tight parking lot -- and was "spot welded" which meant the car would have to be taken to an auto body shop for repair. Less than pleased by the whole experience, I told them to have the car ready for me to pick up at 5 PM that same day. Knowing nothing about auto body shops and fearing the worst I looked on Yelp, found several, and e-mailed a couple for estimates, a process that ultimately led me to phone ASM, speak to Gagan, and wind up making an appointment for 10AM ten days later (after returning from a long planned vacation with my children and grandchildren). When I showed up today (25 March 2019) and said I had a 10AM appointment, a man who turned out to be Gagan, responded "You Russ?" He not only remembered the appointment, but remembered my name AND my description of Hayward Toyota's diagnosis AND gave me his complete and instant attention! An hour + later, after a thorough inspection of the sensor bracket and sensor by Gagan himself and his very impressive electronics guru Jose turned up NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE to the sensor or the bracket, i.e., nothing that an auto body shop could fix, he obliged me by writing up his findings but refused to charge me anything for his time -- despite my discomfort and repeated urging -- because he hadn't "fixed anything". A 40-year college professor, I told him I knew something about the value of time, never mind the education he'd given me, and insisted on writing him a check for not less than a couple of hundred dollars. But he adamantly refused payment saying he would keep the paper work pending (hypothetical) next steps. This guy is good. So I came here with an insurance claim. I bet most people do. So someone hit my car while I was at work, no note, nothing. My door was done for, completely smashed into the car, and there was damage done to the quarter panel as well. Luckily it was only one door on one side of my car. No window damage nothing happened to the tires/wheels or axel. Mind you I purchased this car two weeks prior to this happening. I am so glad I had gotten the insurance the same day I bought the vehicle. The first thing I thought was that I have a $1000 deductible, great there goes $1000 out of my pocket. So I didn't have to search very much for this guy, his reviews are great and he was local (I also had a friend go to him previously). So the quote I got from the insurance company said the repairs/replacements would take approx 2 weeks, when I brought him the quote he was very honest with me and told me it would probably take 3 weeks not two. He explained that the quote was to replace the door and repair the quarter panel, which I was a little upset about, I understand the insurance companies want to spend as little as possible but really? He told me it would take that extra week just to convince the insurance that he needed to replace the quarter panel not repair it. And he was right. I was keeping track of the insurance company calling them constantly making sure he had called and put in the request and it took the insurance company a week to send someone out and come up with a decision. I think that's ridiculous, why wouldn't someone take the opinion of the professional that's fixing the vehicle, but I'm not employed at an insurance company. Besides him fighting for the replacement of the quarter panel he also gave me a loaner for the entire three weeks he was working on my car, and he took a sizable chunk of my deductible off which I really appreciated, right around the holidays too it was a huge help. Great guy, had updates available through text, easy to get in contact with, easy to talk to and easy to work with. Thank you so much for making this experience so much better than it could've been. It's only right I leave a great review to Gagan from ASM who responded right away within minutes with my concerns when I messaged him a while back . Honest people have my respect and this guy has earned it. I needed help with my right door mirror as it was hanging off for the life of it, I had went to Walmart and purchased a glue with white paint to help cover the damaged area ‍ (see first before picture) and it came out worst then what it was. I knew I needed to seek professional help. I first needed to purchase the mirror part online before taking it to get installed. When I received my door mirror it was black ready to paint. Gagan provided me a reasonable price for paint to match and labor work. I arrived to his location and I was greeted right away, very friendly guy! Was only waiting no more then 15-20 minutes. It came out perfect! My baby (car) was looking amazing again thank you Gagan! I was in shock! How great, he has a customer for life with any car concerns and I sure will be recommending all my friends and loved ones to this shop. My mom and daughter came along with me and they felt very comfortable as well and were well greeted. My prius had a damage due to an accident. I was little delaying to get it fixed as I was busy. I took the car and shown it to Gagan to schedule a time to drop the car. Gagan was very knowledgeable about the issues related to the accidents. He quickly figured out by looking at the car that something is wrong with the alignment of the tires. He got the alignment checked and found that the alignment was off due to the accident. He worked with the insurance company to prove that the misalignment happened due to the car accident and got the whole money reimbursed from the insurance company for the repair. All this time, I didn't had to do any phone calls or followups. I dropped the car on Monday and the car was ready by Friday. He also did the oil change for free. It was a pleasant experience dealing with ASM auto body. Gagan, the owner is very hard working person and goes out of his way to make the customer happy. My car had a bumper issue which caused the engine under-cover to come out. Because of this, when I put the car in reverse, the loose cover was scraping the road, and it felt unsafe. They did not perform auto body repair work, but the owner, Sam, kindly referred me to ASM Auto Body & Repair. I met Gagan Singh, the Manager, who inspected my car and called his repair technician. As the technician started the work, I asked Gagan how much the service would cost. You will not believe it--he said it was FREE! He told me, "I will not charge you anything for this." I asked again, confirming the price, but he simply repeated that since he had said it was free, he would not charge me. He used parts and labor to fix the problem. Great service, highly recommended! My BMW convertible recently got a dent and some scratches so I went to ASM to have them fixed. The guy named ABHI promptly greeted me and checked my car. He offered several possible solutions and discussed with me. Eventually I was convinced and decided to have my car dropped the following week. He promised me it will be as good as new. Guess what? I got my car on schedule in perfect and clean condition. I was skeptical about the new paint matching the original paint but it appears that they take pride in their work and did a great job. As a courtesy, he got my car washed and vaccumed as well. After further discussion, I found out that this guy is just helping out his friend/ owner while he is on a vacation. My very first experience here was so great that whenever any of my cars need any kind of body repair, this is the only place I considered taking it! Gagan goes above and beyond to help his customers.
