Always a great time and great service at bay horse and love getting away from the santa con chaos!

The day before St. Patrick's day left a friend and I wandering about downtown when we both realized that we had never taken the time to visit The Bay Horse Cafe. The pub was busy, but not packed. We made our way to the bar and ordered a beer. It wasn't until after we ordered that we saw the check-in offer on Yelp (for a $4 Hudy Schooner), we knew we'd be staying for a second beer after we saw that. We took our first beer out to the small front patio area that extends onto the sidewalk. For our second beer we sat at the bar and people-watched and chatted. The pub really feels straight out of Europe and packs a lot of charm in the small space. With a room full of loud drunk people celebrating the holiday, I was really impressed with how friendly the staff remained. I wish I would have remembered his name, but the black gentleman working the bar on 3/16 was truly a professional- he went out of his way to make sure we were having a good time. We couldn't help but order a round of shots after we got swept up into the fun that everyone seemed to be having at The Bay Horse Cafe. I'll definitely be back to enjoy this gem.

Bay Horse has come back to life! It's always so much fun to experience a re-birth and Bay Horse has certainly restored the original character and charm of this place without making it feel too modern or stuffy. A standard wooden bar (classic Cincinnati!) loaded with all of your favorites. Their main thing and what everyone in the bar seemed to be drinking was a gigantic chalice of Hudy or what they are calling "The Hudy Schooner." $4.00 for 25oz chalice $3 for 16oz pint and the Moerlein version is: $8 for 25oz chalice $6 for 16oz pint Cocktails are $6, yes I said $6. They're not the best, but for $6 you can have twice the fun with friends! Domestics are $4 Retro Domestics are $2 Craft / Local range from $5-$7 Imports are $5 Sandwiches (which I hear are delicious) will run you about $9-10 bucks. Their motto is "every hour is happy hour at the Bay Horse Cafe" and it CERTAINLY IS. I feel like I've gone back in time drinking at these prices, but you know what - they might be onto something because we had 2-3 drinks here each because they were cheap and invited more friends to come here that night because it was cheap and so much fun. Also really love they have trivia on every table. Games bring people together and create laughter and that is always something I am a huge proponent of. Bay Horse should be the next stop on your list. They're not pretending to be anything they're not, and honestly is it incredibly refreshing...

Checked out Bay Horse before a show at The Taft last night. Great small town atmosphere in the city. Hudy Delight was a part of my history so I enjoyed the schooners of Hudy. Sandwiches and food were good- nothing to rave about. We will definitely be back for drinks with friends.

All the schooners to choose from!

The people (regulars) were very nice and engaging to us non regulars. This place is a real treat, like the old bars in the past!

What a great choice that ended up being! I love this kind of food and the menu was creative without being overwhelming. My brother and I each got three items from the Vegetarian pick-three menu and my nephew ordered from the kids' menu. Everyone was happy with their food, and the draft beers tasted excellent as well. Our server, Maya, was really helpful with the menus and checked in on us often. Her friendliness and fun conversation added to an already great time. Our stop into Covington Friday evening was a highlight of my trip to Kentucky. And I like that Agave allows dogs; there was a really cute beagle-and-husky at the table next ours.

Our party of four had the quesobirria tacos, the taco flight, the burrito, and quesadilla. We also ordered the corn fritters appetizer. My quesobirria tacos were awesome! The juice to dip was great. Hubby like the burrito but declared it was too much food, which is a first. His burrito appeasement levels are quite high. The taco flight was interesting. Our daughter was a bit thrown by the BBQ shrimp in the "bomb" taco but all in all, she loved her food. Quesadilla was your typical one but he felt it was a tad bit spicy. The ambiance was fun! Music was a mix of genres, which served well. The staff was attentive. We have one person allergic to mushrooms and the kitchen was very clear and asked clarifying questions. Totally appreciated! I'm glad we found this place!
