I LOVE the vibe and wish we had been able to come in the evening. We were here midday on a Sunday during Pride. It was packed on the street, but it was pretty chill and empty inside. The speakeasy jazzy vibes were def up my alley. They were wrapping up brunch service, so we were just glad that we were able to get some food. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit which was super greasy but very filling and delicious. My partner got a scramble, which he liked but there were some very hard bits of we think the meat in the dish, and I chalked it up to it likely being the last bits of the available brunch offerings. But he was a little disappointed about that. As for the drinks...the thing that drew me here in the first place, as a gin lover, I was very very pleased. Delicious, both the ones I got (a seasonal cocktail and a classic) and I simply wish I had more time and money to spend here with a fancy drink in my hand. I would love to come back here on a future visit to the Covington/Cincy area. read more

Came here to say for brunch and loved it! Cocktails were great! My husband a red snapper, which is a Bloody Mary with gin and really liked it. They have a regular menu and a rotating menu for brunch, so we both opted for the rotating. All the food was good, but the cocktails is what makes this place stand out! read more

Wow this place is so chic! Came here with my husband and friend who just moved to the area. When we arrived Friday at 6:30 (made booth reservation) it wasn't super crowded, but once the live music started it was hoppin'! I don't drink, but my companions do and they loved every drink they got - even though they aren't huge gin lovers. The food menu wasn't huge (tapas style) but was diverse and decent especially for a mainly bar setting! We ordered the spanish olives, pitas and whipped feta + hot honey, swedish meatballs, pigs in a blanket, al pastory bone in ribs, caesar salad and ensalada de seville. read more

This is a great brunch spot. While the bar is probably best known for having over 200 varieties of gin (hence, Juniper), who would've thought it would also be a Christmasy and wonderful brunch spot. Wait staff was excellent. There was even a piano where I could envision coming back and hearing live music at night. Overall, it has a cozy neighborhood feel - yet still maintains the historic architecture of a true Mainstrasse establishment. It will be hard to deviate from chilaquiles but it looked like they had many delicious brunch offerings that I will be trying here soon. read more

Junipers has been on my list of places to check out for a long while now, so I was excited that we were free to go to their Gin & Blossoms event recently. It was definitely worth the wait! We drove an hour to get there and since it's tough to time the drive during rush hour, we ended up being 30 minutes early but the staff was so friendly and welcoming right away. The event included a welcome cocktail, gin tasting, a tapas bar, live music, and a flower truck outside with a florist making up individual bouquets. Even without all those perks, it's just a really cozy place to hang out and have a delicious gin cocktail. Two of the staff individually told us about upcoming events and live music and encouraged us to come back. We will absolutely return and bring some friends with us next time! read more

Came here for brunch on a random Sunday so I can only comment on the brunch menu. The place was totally empty, I think there was maybe one other group dining. It is a really cute vibe and they have lots of different seating options which I'm sure are excellent at night for the bar vibe! We were promptly seated and got to ordering. I had a Bloody Mary which was quite delicious! We got the Millie's BELT French toast and the Shakshuka with lamb. Overall both dishes were tasty! The brunch menu is pretty small so you don't have too many options, the meals were both well prepared, nicely flavored, and came out quickly. We also got a blueberry coffee cake which was out of this world delicious. All in all, this is a super cute place and I will definitely be back to check out the night-scene. We have wanted to stop in for along time. Tonight we attended a New Riff Gin release party and we had so much fun. The staff were super friendly and the bar has a great feel, we felt so welcome and like a regular, the cocktails were great a lovely gin punch. Of course I had to have a Singapore Sling made in the amazing cocktail shaker one of five in the US. So much fun we had appetizers included in the release but ordered the sweet potato crème brûlée as a sweet ending to the night. I already want to go back tomorrow read more

What a great find in Covington! There Gin drinks are next level - and we're British gin snobs They have a very wide selection of gins and are happy to make suggestions for you! In fact, the staff was some of the most knowledgeable bar staff we've encountered in the Cincinnati area! Highly recommend the French 75 if you're a gin newbie. They have live music weekly and the decor is wonderfully eclectic and cosy. Only downfall is parking is a pain! Try the whipped feta with hot honey, salads were tasty as well. I'd love a little larger tapas selection but it is more of a bar than restaurant. We'll definitely be back! read more

The vibe here is immaculate! They specialize in gin, with tons of options, but even if you're not a big gin person, there are other spirits and options. I love gin, so I was happy to find Juniper's when we were in Cincinnati for my birthday. We intended to find a place for dinner while we were drinking our cocktails, but we ordered the bread service--we loved it so much we almost ordered a second The host was extremely welcoming and once we were seated in a cozy, romantic spot near the bar, our server was, too. We stayed for a few rounds and loved chatting with our server. I love it here! This is now my new favorite place to get a cocktail in Covington. We will definitely be returning. read more

Who knew? Who would have guessed that a spot like this was posted up in MainStrasse Village - other than Ottos?! To be sure, I've been to some very nice Speakeasys here, and a few other places across the country, but let's be real...this is Southern Ohio / Northern Kentucky, and you have to be intentional if you like certain things. Juniper's is quite that - an unassuming and elegant gin bar. A live folk/country band was playing on the 6th Street boulevard, and it wasn't my cup of tea, so when we walked into Juniper's, I felt like Gil (Owen Wilson) from Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris" - as The Gimlets jazz quartet was playing classic Bebop onstage. The set was also very nice. Only two of us were drinking: I had the Monkey 47 and my friend had a standard gin and tonic. The 47 had a splash of absinthe, giving it a nice lower-end licorice taste that complemented the gin, grapefruit, lemon, and bitters. I was starving, but if you're familiar with tapas, it's shared dining, so I had to get enough for all three of us: Bread Service Watermelon Salad Deviled egg trio - classic - kimchi - okonomiyaki Milanese - crispy pork - miso plum mustardo, and cabbage Albondigas Spanish meatballs - wagyu beef - pork - red wine - tomatoes - paprika I usually don't eat pork, but I had a little bit (a lot) of everything. The ladies with me also enjoyed everything but the kimchi deviled eggs - which I devoured. LOL I'll be going BACK to Juniper's gin bar. Probably Tuesday, August 20 2024 because the Cadence Okuwobi jazz trio will be playing from 5-7pm. LOL. Maybe I'll see you there - any time. I found a new favorite in Covington. It's a beautiful bar with an elegant atmosphere. Lots of space and beautiful bar. It's know for gin drinks and tapas. The Saturn drink is refreshing. We had to drive to Kentucky, but it was worth it. The Tapas menu is unlike anything I've seen. They tell me it changes every month. Even better. They have wonderful gin drinks. Normally, I'm a straight gin and tonic guy. Nurse a couple, head on home. Tonight We made the first round a sampler with a flight of gins that we all enjoyed then the French 75, a Gimlet, Dorchester and a Gibson. They mix smooth drinks and the martinis were quite dry and accommodating. You can go with other spirits, we opted not to. The appetizers help to distract the palate to try the next concoction. lol A couple of tapas for us were the Kaiju Meatballs and the Zombie Slayer Shotgun Shells (that's a definite must try). All were outstanding. All were served swiftly with a smile. Big shout out to James and Bill. Both were very personable; both were extremely gifted at their craft. Adorable! I love it here. I felt like I was walking into a friend's place for drinks and food. Every single person we came into contact with was awesome. Ethan was the best ever, guided us on drinks and food. So personable, spent time with us. Marie on the drinks was A+. We even met the chef. Very cool staff. Food was good, we had several items, carrot cake bake, shatshuka, corned beef hash, breakfast potato casserole. The drinks were great as well, expresso martini with a spiced gin per Ethan suggestion, morning matcha and a French 75 with cucumber gin. We ended up also with a gin flight. I noticed that Juniper's, a lovely gin-focused bar in Covington's Mainstrasse area, recently started offering Sunday brunch. The pictures and menu looked great so I arranged to meet a friend there for brunch at 11:30 this Sunday. While Juniper's is very spacious, there are cozy booths at the back near the bar and with my party, they were full up. Service was quick and friendly. Although the menu is limited, I was seriously tempted by just about everything on offer. I opted for the eggs Benedict with ham and my friend had the Covington huevos rancheros. Serving sizes are like Goldilocks, not too big, not too small and just right. The eggs Benedict were tasty, my friend enjoyed her selection. I had the Four Bean Soup, Juniper's version of an espresso martini, which closed out my meal on a perfect, creamy note. Juniper's offers a solid Sunday brunch option. read more

The cool jazz band, that also played some 80s and 90s cool vibes was a great addition. If you are in Covington and looking for a great place to have a few cocktails, this is the spot. This review is long over due! My husband and I visited the Cincinnati area in October 2024. On the last night of our trip we visited Junipers and had a lovely evening! I was impressed by the ambiance and the cocktail selection. We enjoyed everything we ordered which was mostly appetizers and a few gin based cocktails. We were both blown away by the service. Our waitress was knowledgeable and made excellent suggestions. Another server came by to check on us and, upon discovering that we ere from out of town, treated us to a special night cap on the house. It was delicious! **Am reviewing as a non-gin drinker** We visited Juniper's last night after dinner and it was such a cute, chill vibe. Drippy candles, lots of textures, mood lighting just right, and the friendliest staff. It's just around the corner from Main Street and Mainstrasse so it had a much more low key feel to it and is a place you can go with friends and still be able to have a conversation. I didn't partake in any cocktails last night so I'll amend this when I do but everyone I was with absolutely LOVED theirs, especially one called The Plane. My husband also really liked their gin flight. They also do have a full bar, beer, wine, and lite bites which I also can't wait to try! read more

Update: have been back since my original review and they have added a small amount of different spirits to their menu! I was able to swap out the gin for Tito's in my cocktails this past visit. We originally went when they first opened last year which explains the limited menu I mentioned in my original review. Their espresso martini is an 8.3 - drier than others I've had but still sweet and full-bodied. Ideal for: dates, live music, intimate groups, or a fancier-than-normal-post-dinner drink. read more
