Had my husband's 65th birthday happy hour here. They're dog friendly so we were able to include our Huskies in the celebration. The party room is betweeen the bar at the entrance and the patio... and it's perfect for a group. It's a nice atmosphere, not too loud, so everyone could talk, and there is plenty of seating. The staff was super friendly and made sure everyone (even our dogs) were taken care of. And the attention to detail was amazing - they went so far as to toast the marshmellows on the drinks! We loved Cobblestone's Christmas pop-up in December so we made sure to check out their Valentine's pop-up in February. What fun! With so many restaurants and bars struggling to stay open these days, this is such a creative way to market themselves. They have all sorts of fun events to entice people to come in as well. My daughter and her boyfriend had a great time at a Valentine's paint and sip date night. The Valentine's themed decor is so festive and makes for some great instagrammable moments. They also have themed drinks-my chocolate martini was small but tasty. They said the next pop-up is for Saint Patrick's Day, so looks like we'll be going back next month! read more

Visited Cobblestone on a Thursday night at 9pm with my daughter. Close parking at Washington park! There was a Love Island event which packed the whole location. Unfortunately it felt as if there were too few bartenders for the packed house. I don't watch the show but didn't mind the crowd because there was good energy and a polite crowd. The bar has a narrow footprint so a packed house does make it difficult for movement from the front door just about anywhere else in the space, especially if patrons are sitting at the bar. No problem, a simple excuse me seemed to work. Three things ruined this bar for me. First, waiting 1 hr 5 minutes, in line, for 1 cocktail. It's a bar so if I gave up, what would be the point being there? Second, the incredibly rude male bartender. There were 3 male bartenders and the other 2 seemed quite nice. I waited a long time, very patiently and it seemed the bartender took out their long night on me or forgot he was in the service industry. Third, the drink was wrong. It was made at the other end of the bar so by the time we realized the mistake at our table, it was just disappointing. Other patrons mentioned inconsistent cocktails that night as well (amaretto sours and palomas). Plenty other bars in OTR with great customer service and friendly staff! read more

Admittedly I haven't been to cobblestone since before the Pandemic, so it was nice to stop by on Valentines day and see what they did for the holiday. It looked like the perfect Valentine Pop Up: The photo wall, the drink specials, the table and wall decorations- just so absolutely adorable! Have got to leave a bad review. We order food after driving around for an hour to find a spot for wings. I remembered my client recommended it and I wanted to support. I receive burnt fries and when I asked her to remake it she said it'll take to long she'll refund me and bring my receipt. The wings had an off taste for barbecue as well. I read about the spicy margarita at Cobblestone and chose it for our first stop on a Friday after long work week. As much as I visit downtown I can't believe we've never been here. We were greeted with a smile by Frankie as soon as we entered. He is the bar keep, tender, mixologist. There was also a very kind patron named Frank who was also very friendly. The bar itself it perfect neighborhood joint. The huge windows were open and there was a perfect breeze flowing through. We sat at window so we could people watch. We had great community and conversation. My review it based on the vibe and feeling of the bar. The spicy margarita although voted a best by City Beat readers was not the best in our opinion. This is a great place to come for a casual drink with friends. All of the bartenders are always friendly and every time I've visited I've never had to wait long for a drink. It's a great vibe and is definitely a stop on my list if we are jumping around for a few drinks. I first saw Cobblestone while taking a ride on the streetcar. I thought, "That looks just like any neighborhood bar!" How is that going to fit in OTR? Low Spark has a fish tank surrounding the bar! Pins has bowling alleys and a rooftop! Turns out, they'll do just fine. I didn't think I'd ever make it over to Cobblestone because of the normalcy. I go to OTR for a crazy night - I spend my chill evenings at Blind Pig. However, my friend and I ended up at Locaba one night strictly chatting. The clock struck midnight but we weren't ready to go home yet. Before I went to Yelp I racked my brain for a chill bar and remembered seeing Cobblestone. We decided it was worth a shot and headed on over. Even though there isn't a gimmicky tagline to get you hooked on coming, Cobblestone had a good amount of people hanging out on a Friday night. The bartenders were very friendly and able to serve us immediately, even with the crowd at the bar. We were able to grab some window seats in the back next to the restroom. It was comfy as it was busy but not overly so. This bar is small and there's not too much seating. I came back another night and there was barely room to move so I didn't even attempt to venture inside. Cobblestone was a surprise given it doesn't really have a theme to it. Although I didn't believe it was a good fit for OTR, perhaps the owners thought they'd get the hangover from Sundry & Washington Park. I wish it were a bit bigger, but overall it's a pretty good place to sit and chit chat so long as it's not crowded. read more

Cobblestone is hip but unpretentious. Love the short menu of well-priced, interesting but not-too-precious cocktails. The hot and dirty (pictured) is my favorite; a nice balance of acid and spice. The bar itself is full of nice little touches. The horse on the bar lights up when the street car is coming, there is a shoeshine bench in the back where they do free shines during Wednesday happy hours, exposed brick, sweet light fixtures. Bartenders are friendly and fast. Unfortunately, while the concept is chill, the atmosphere is not. We tried to come here twice (once on a weekday!), before we could even squeeze ourselves in the door. I suppose location is part of it, but this place is a magnet for large, rowdy, drunk groups. This place is a hidden gem! Came her randomly on a Monday night (as we wanted to grab a drink and other bars were closed) and was surprised to see how many people were in the bar. We quickly found our way to the bar and I always like to try every bars' specialty cocktails so I opted for the Mule - they were out of fresh basil so the bartender made it with raspberry instead and it was still very tasty! We sat at one of the high top tables and noticed all the unique and intricate details of this place - from the lights on the ceiling in the pattern of a streetcar, to the rail tracks in the wall, to the back bar and logo design of the place - everything was so perfectly put together. Before we finished our drinks the bartender came over to our table and asked if we needed anything - I thought this was odd as he was the only bartender that night and there were other patrons at the bar - this was some VIP service. He then came back again once we had finished our drinks and asked if we wanted another - we decided hey why not and said sure! We then asked him about all of the other signature cocktails they had - some including liquors we were not familiar with that he let us taste! We both ended up getting different cocktails for round 2 and they were both again so tasty! The bartender then AGAIN came over to ask how we were doing and if we needed anything during this 2nd drink - this service was beyond what I have ever had a bar. The atmosphere and the service here was more than I could have expected for a bar we randomly walked into. I will definitely be back to enjoy the awesome atmosphere and sip on some of their other great cocktails. I've been a few times. I perform a great deal in the city. I know a few bartenders there and they're great. But I just left and I'm highly irritated. There was clearly a newer bartender on site. A few bugs were in my drink upon retrieving which I understood entirely, open doors and fruit flies will congregate. I made it know I would pay for an additional pour but I'm grossed out by bugs and wouldn't drink that. He refused. Fine. I understand bar is closed, can't refill. He reassured me if I came back another time (which he may not have known, but I of course will as I frequent this place) he'd take care of me. Whatever. Appreciate it but I knew he would and still was pleasant and agreed. He went on to frantically clean the bar. He sprayed me IN THE FACE with cleaner. I understand he may not have noticed, but upon myself and SEVERAL friends making it known, his apology was half ass and went on about his frantic business. I understand you may be new, but that's not how you handle that situation. New or not. ESPECIALLY for a frequent client who is rather well known in AND out of the establishment. Cobblestone is my new favorite bar in OTR! The location is great; right next to Washington park on your way between taste of belguim and queen city radio. I stopped in last weekend to check it out and I'm glad I did. The bar itself is beautiful and I really liked the lighting on the ceiling, which as golden pipes and classic bulbs it looks totally steak punk. The owner was there and he was super friendly, too. He told us they have a shoe shine on wednesdays which means a) I'll be drinking on Wednesday and b) my shoes are going to look super fresh. Cool new bar in OTR near Washington Park on the corner of 12th and Race! It was inspired by the street car and I love the light fixture design on the ceiling. I went in on a Monday after work and it wasn't packed at all which was nice, but I'm not sure what it'll be like on the weekends. They have happy hour 4-7pm (I think it's Monday-Friday - someone verify this!) and on Wednesdays during happy hour, they have complimentary shoe shines! I got the Mule and Berry Boujee for drinks. Cobblestone is an out of the way bar that has an excellent view of the park. If you are expecting a spacious bar, you will be disappointed. The bar is small with a few seating options, and a small menu. The decor was amazing, and I liked the theme they were going with. The biggest downside to this location is that it's small, and when I was at the location, there were three dogs present that were barking loudly and laying on the floor in the walkway path.
