Needed a pet sitter for our Shih Tzu on short notice. Needed a Saturday pet setting and set it up the day before on Friday. Upon arrival was impressed with the cleanliness and size of the facility. The staff were extremely kind, polite and showed a concern for "Baxter" while relieving our concerns about leaving him at a new place. While there we were sent pictures with updates. Dropped my dog off for daycare and came back with cuts and scraps from an aggressive dog mounting her and no one stopping it. If a dog exhibits this behavior then he should not be allowed to be in the general population with the other dogs. Not interested in any excuses. I would not recommend unless you don't care bout your animal and want them to be attacked and neglected. read more

Horrible experience. Purchased pens next to each other so dogs could be together once in awhile. Told the dogs had to be evaluated by staff prior to opening the doors. Doors never opened as we checked webcams every hour. Purchased a half day of enrichment, that wasnt enough by looking at webcams so increased to full day. They sat in pens 23 hours a day. Advertise half or full day enrichment services, but only documented 15 minutes 4 times a day. High energy dogs sat in jail. Tried to work it out with manager over the phone, she argued with me, said they never promised to evaluate the dogs, and said that all the services I purchased were rendered....buyer beware, this is not the place to leave your dogs unless they want to sleep 23 hours a day. read more

When we moved to Tampa, one of our primary concerns was where we would take our dog for day play and board when we were traveling. We tried other facilities and were not happy with the service. We were thrilled to find Bay Paws. The staff is always friendly, and our dog is happy when we arrive and exhausted from a day of play when we pick him up. They have cameras located in the boarding rooms, the play yard, and the pool area so we can check in on our dog throughout the day and overnight when he is boarding. I've been using Fuzzie Buddies for daycare and boarding for over 6 yrs now. Both my dogs have loved it there and get so excited to go. The first time your dog goes you will need to make an appointment as the trial day they pair your dog up with a worker to monitor how they interact and behave with the staff and other dogs. This was great as i feel that the dogs there are all well behaved and I saw them tell an owner that they would need their dog to go to training and then could come back for retrial. You can take tours as well to see the facilities. The facilities have both indoor play areas and outdoor areas. The outdoor areas have shades over a good majority of the yard which is great with the Florida summer heat. They also have pools with gradual depth changes (tampa) for the dogs to wade or swim in. They also set up sprinkles and other items that are rotated throughout the days. They utilize he indoors areas during the heat of the day in the summers or if it's raining. The staff is very engaged with the dogs and know their names for those that come more often. We go 1-2 times per week most weeks and they all know my pup. They often post pictures on their Facebook page so you sometimes spot your pup and also see the fun of the day. They also write up a report card for you that's available to review when you pick up. For boarding they have many options for room sizes and amenities such as receiving pictures, video monitors, play time or extra walks which are great to adjust for older dogs as well. If you are boarding, daycare is offered at a discounted rate. They do a great job at drop off to understand and document feeding and medication needs for your dogs stay. Both my dogs have been so tired during day care I doubt the notice we are not there and just sleep all night. When picking up you can add a bath prior and they always wash the bedding or items you brought for your pet. I love this place and my dogs do it. They are so excited I go and while excited to see me when I pick up, they are happy and then tired for the night. Get way to get some energy out and also help with socializing. read more

Do NOT trust this place with your precious fur babies. I called to make sure they have a harness swing for my dog to get her nails cut and an electric nail file because that is the only way my dog will get her nails cut. I was told over the phone they have this equipment. My boyfriend took here there today and he paid before the service was done and they come out with my dog with pop ALL OVER her because of the stress and NOT having the right equipment to cut her nails. They said they couldn't hold her down and get it done and we were confused because they confirmed they had the swing harness that lifts her off the ground. My car is COVERED in dog poop. This is ridiculous that they couldn't even wipe my poor dog down before giving her back because they couldn't get the job done. I could only imagine what stress she went under back there with them. Absolutely would not trust the information they give or to care for your babies. Makes me SICK to my stomach. They said we would get refunded but I want to be refunded for destroying my car. The owner contacted me and took care of all the bills in regards to my pet's care almost immediately. She was very nice and made sure that our process with our dog's care went smoothly. We didn't have to worry about expenses in regards to our dog as the owner went the extra mile for us. This has restored my hope and faith in Fuzzie Buddies. I am actually boarding my same dog in their care for the July 4th weekend. I did notify the owner about my boarding so that I can ensure that it will be a smooth and great stay for my dog. My senior dogs stayed with Bay Paws for almost 10 days while we were away on a cruise. The staff was absolutely amazing, both during check in and pick up. My dogs were in perfect shape when I picked them up. During their stay, the staff noticed that their claws were a bit long and notified me via text and I authorized the nail trim. You can tell that the staff cares about the animals that are entrusted to them. I admit I was nervous about booking a dog resort for my animals as they are rarely away from home and are pretty much house dogs. I am absolutely 1000% satisfied with Bay Paws and will be booking them again real soon. read more

My dog has separation anxiety and he usually hates leaving my side. However, when I drop him off at Bay Paw Resort, he is always so happy to go in and play. Staff is always nice and they keep an eye on your dog at all times. They make you aware if your dog is acting different or going to the bathroom weird. Bay Paws has been good excellent! After moving to FL a year ago, my 1yr old dog had become intermittently reactive and very uncertain in new situations and with new people. She used to do well at our former daycare, but I was unsure of how she would be in a new setting with her new issues. I brought her to Bay Paws for her evaluation and explained my concerns. All of the staff was very helpful and patient with my girl. She has adjusted well and looks forward to her time spent at Bay Paws! She greets familiar staff and eagerly goes with them. This is one of the best places we have ever found for any of our dogs over the last 15 years. The front desk is slightly forgetful but the Manager more than makes up for that. Our dog has been going since she was 3 months old and they have absolutely spoiled her and always made sure she was ok and were up to date if anything was off during her stay. I recently boarded my boy for Thanksgiving. When I picked him up he had a scab about the size of a dime under his eye and smaller ones above his eye. When I called to find out what happened the manager said he hadn't heard of anything but said he'd check with the care givers and call me back but he never did. It looks terrible and I'm sure it had to bleed a lot. Now I have to find a new place that I can trust to keep my boy safe. read more

I trust Bay Paws wholeheartedly with my baby. They are extremely attentive to your woofers needs. I leave Lucky for daycare at least one a week. She gets to play all day with other puppers and she really enjoys it. Whenever I go out of town for the weekend I don't hesitate to leave Lucky there for boarding and daycare. Bay Paws has gone downhill. Their employees are doing drugs while on the job and in front of the animals. When approached they said they were going to put in a drug policy; however, this did not happen. Once we picked up the dogs and got half of their food back. I have no idea if they were fed. We were also told they could not go outside with the others, due to behavior issues; however, this was after we had paid for it many times. Someone who worked there told us, they indeed where not going outside. That is when we were told they could not be with other dogs. We started paying for private play time. I have no idea if they got it. We stuck with them because we had been a client when it was Fuzzy Buddies and they used to be good. It's a circus now. Double check your food, toys and bill when picking up your babies. After a long search we found another place. We tested them. They have been over the top amazing. Professional check in and out. The dogs were tested with the other dogs - zero issues. They said they are awesome with the other dogs. They have cameras inside and outside and also have a walk out area for the dogs so if they need to go to the bathroom, they can, without waiting!!! read more

If i could give more stars, I would. My almost two year old Labrador comes home exhausted after his daycare day at Fuzzie Buddies and it benefits not only him but myself as well. I am totally an overprotective dog mom however I trust the staff here 110% with my fur-baby. The only thing I would nit pick is the front end staff not being the happiest when dropping him off I mean come on who wouldn't have a smile on their face seeing all these cute wiggle butts walk through that front door?! Don't pay too much mind to all of the negative reviews as some dogs simply do not know how to play properly with others and sometimes results in injury please remember daycare is not for all dogs. I made an on-line reservation to board my 2 senior dogs over Christmas. The rate quoted was $87/night and the website said that they provided raised beds in the kennel. My senior dog is not able to get up on that bed so I called to verify that I could bring her blankets to sleep on. While on the phone, the lady said that they did not have the size kennel that I had requested but had 1 for $97/night which I agreed to. I checked them in with 2 blankets and their food in individual, labelled bowls. Upon pick-up, the young man gave me 1/2 of the bowls and no blankets which he said were not in the bin. He also charged me $107/night. I emailed management immediately and received no response for 3 days so I called to speak to a manager. She said that she would try to locate my property and said that they charge a premium on rates over the holidays and that someone should have told me, which they did not. It took another 24 hours of them to find the blankets which I now have to drive back to pick up and made no mention of refunding the additional charge. I understand that Christmas is a busy time but there is no explanation for not responding to a dissatisfied customer email. I do not know if my 13 year old dog ever had her blanket or slept on a cold floor! I do not recommend Bay Paws. Edited with answer to the response: I absolutely DO NOT appreciate your trying to "spin" my experience instead of just taking responsibility. I called you on Saturday and told you about the lost blankets and you returned my call 24 hours later saying they were most likely left in the kennel. Why would you launder blankets when my dogs were still there?!?! That makes no sense and, if you were in fact washing my blankets, that means my dogs were in a kennel on a 50* day sleeping on a cold concrete floor!! I sent the email through the link in your email to me so please look through those. I am even more dissatisfied with your customer service and treatment of my pets after your response to my review. read more

Worst boarding and staff. I just left for the SECOND time in the past 6 months with no service despite the first incident when I called and made a grooming appt verbally, which was confirmed. Raced over during a busy work day where the woman behind the counter left me waiting for ten minutes despite no on else being there only to tell me she had no appointment for me. Tried again today. Made an appt online, got an email that the request was received. Got a second email that the request was confirmed. Showed up to a different but just as glib woman who laughed at me while telling me the confirmation email just meant my "request was confirmed" lol. I have boarded my dog here numerous times, only because it's close to where I live, but it's pretty awful because they upcharge you for literally everything, including letting your dog play in daycare even though you're already paying $50+ a night for boarding. I brought my Aussie here for his "trial day" and picked him up with torn bloody paws. The gal informed me that he had injured himself in the morning, and thus they were unable to evaluate him interacting with the other dogs and he needed to come back for another trial. My question: if my dogs paws were bloody and torn, and he could not walk (I had to carry him outside to go potty for 3 days) why did you not call me to come pick him up when it happened, and instead, quarantine him, injured and scared, and wait 6 hours for me to pick up? Shady. They also tried to blame it on me for not telling them he has sensitive paw pads...which he doesn't. We definitely dont recommend this place. We go to a family owned place right down the street now and they treat our boy like a king. read more

Loved it when it was Fuzzy Buddies. When the ownership changed it does not seem like my dog is being let out at all (i even pay for solo one on one play). She comes home smelling like she has been laying in her own pee and her bed smells the same. Smells so bad i am actually embarrassed on the elevator in my building when people get on and immediately throw her in the bath. Our friends also had concerns on their dog and while we were just on vacation together they checked the cameras and their dog was not let out at all even though they paid for 1/2 day daycare. They called to tell them and they then went in and let her out for an hour. They also noticed none of the toys/bones they brought were in her crate either. They had to call again to get that done. Does not seem like they care at all. Will never be bringing my dog back which is a shame because we loved it when it was under the old ownership and staff. read more

There seem to be several negative reviews, but my 3-year-old and 5-year-old Golden retrievers absolutely love this place. I've never had any issues with the customer service, and they are always very accommodating of any last minute travel plans. My dogs get so excited when I pull up to drop them off for the day, and they get even more excited when they see the friendly staff members, such as Savannah. The daycare is a bit on the pricey side, but I would highly recommend taking advantage of their package specials they offer throughout the year. I saved a ton of money that way. 5 stars all around! Not to mention, my dogs are out of commission for at least 24 hours after a day of swimming in the pools and playing with other pups. read more

They offer pick up times specifically within a set time (3-6) and refuse to open the doors a minute earlier regardless of any extenuating circumstances or inconveniences. I have been boarding my dogs at fuzzie buddies for about a year. Recently we moved out of the Tampa area, so we have selected a different boarder due to distance. However, I really liked fuzzie buddies a lot and ALWAYS used them when I lived in the Tampa area. Prices: I found the prices very reasonable compared to other places I've used. I always selected the luxury suite for my dogs. I really loved using these and used them exclusively. My dogs are spoiled and this was a way to give them the best accommodations while they were away from home. There is a large room with beds and a webcam for each suite. I really liked that as I like to keep an eye on my dogs while I'm away. I could login whenever I wanted and check on them. That's great! Facility/Staff: I feel this facility is really good. There was no 'pet' smell when I walked in. The front desk staff were great with the animals and I never had to wait to drop off or pick up. Special Circumstances: What really impressed me about fuzzie buddies was the experience we had with a post-surgical dog needed boarding. I gave fuzzie buddies very specific instructions on my dog's post surgical care, including medication administration and dressing changes. We hated to leave him during this time but we had previous reservations we had to honor. Fuzzie buddies did a great job of following his care schedule and making sure he was okay. They checked on him frequently and when I got him back from them, he was still healing well. Options: The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because the daycare is optional at an additional charge. I prefer my boarder to include this in the boarding cost. I would rather my dogs be out playing during the day than in a run/room; however the addition of the daycare would've been too expensive. So, I didn't choose it. However, if this isn't something you're interested in, then fuzzie buddies is perfect. read more

I have been taking my American Bulldog to Fuzzie Buddies for over a year now. Lola perks up as soon as we get close and is excited to go into Fuzzie Buddies. The staff always greets us in a friendly manner and is quick to check her in for daycare, and let me get on my way. When I pick her up, she is not overly spent, but definitely "played" out. Lola also goes to Fuzzie Buddies for boarding when I head out of town. Whenever I have needed meds administered, the staff is happy to customize her stay. I've always had Lola's belongings returned and have had no issues with the boarding services or getting a reservation on the books, by calling in advance. Also, the location is pretty conveniently located between the crosstown, I-4 and state road 60. My only concern is that she is usually a bit stinky when I pick her up. I will continue to take Lola to daycare at Fuzzie Buddies, as long as they will have us. read more

We just picked out dogs up from a one night stay here. They were excited to see us upon pick up as always but we were quickly worried that they didn't have enough water because of how much they panting in the car and trying to lick at our water bottles. When we stopped at a restaurant to eat and get water for the dogs, both dogs (105lb golden retriever, 40lb Australian Shepherd) were desperate for water; jumping at our glasses on the table. Our golden is currently on bowl #4 and is still going. The Aussie had 2 before stopping. I can't be certain of the water situation but I'm uncomfortable with just how desperate they were for water and will definitely be using a different facility next time we are in town. read more

I have never been a customer or boarded my dog here, however I work not even one block away from this establishment. I sit outside during my lunch break, and everyday the employees are screaming and yelling at the dogs to shut up and be quiet. These dogs are surrounded by other dogs, so of course there is going to be barking and noise, that comes with being a dog. I find the employees very unprofessional screaming at the dogs in the manner they do. They yell at the animals so loudly I can hear everything. Please consider this before boarding your dog here. What can I say, Rosebud loves it! Very clean with staff that actually appear to love their job and the dogs. Great choice of extra activities, pool, socializing with the other pups, etc. They provide you with a report of your dog's stay at checkout...behavior, eating, potty, etc. And are happy to provide an update over the phone. My friend from Boston called to check on Rosebud when I was out of the country, only to be jealous bc she had just come in from the pool. Also greatly appreciate special pricing discounts to make affordable. And they are vigilant about the dogs shot records. read more

I used Fuzzy Buddies for boarding over a weekend for a change from my previous place Camp Bow Wow Tampa Airport. Fuzzy Buddies hits most of the marks: The place is well staffed and the building that houses the pets are inside and has some climate control. I like the staff. Their appears several levels of doors to prevent 'jail breaks'. Medications and two (quick) bathroom are included in the basic boarding charge. The regular large kennels, while prison cell-like) had two areas, concrete walls, and sturdy medal doors. My main beef with Fuzzie Buddies is that the Boarding has no playtime or dog interaction included at all...you are basically just ware housing your dog. This was not made that clear before the transaction. Camp Bow Wow boarding, which is basically the same price, allows some doggie playtime with the boarding. I think this a flaw in the fuzzy Buddy business model. Probably not gonna be my 1st choice. read more
