Relocating my hostas and hibiscus, I also grabbed tools needed. Your landmark is Solley Rd, There were all kinds of plants, a really huge selection and being late in the season, they were drastically reduced. On this particular visit, I wanted a Bay leaf tree. They were sold out. But I did get an interesting tree which produces an herbal tea leaves. We'll see how it turns out. Also they were serving hot dogs and soft drinks. This was a welcome treat. The outside area is a typical garden plant area, with a heavy emphasis on native and bee friendly plants (though you can also find roses, fall mums, herbs, and other garden plants). You'll find some unusual plants mixed though, like 8,483 different varieties of bee balm (I'm not really good at estimates, but that seems right to me), ironweed, meadow sage, and the like. Inside, there's an interesting "country shop," where you can purchase honey and beeswax candles, as well as preserves, unique sodas (Sarsaparilla, anyone?), and some fruits and vegetables. Being focused also on bees, you can also purchase beekeeping supplies here, too. All of the plants I've bought have done really well, and I really enjoy grabbing a cold soft drink, too!

(At ten degrees and windy it's too cold here in DC to venture out to a restaurant or museum.) This is no longer the kind of nursery where you go and buy mulch, topsoil, and flats of flowers. I went there with this intent a while back and immediately knew that I wasn't in their league. It's a commercial nursery now where contractors and landscape architects go for big buys. So, unless you're looking for your own personal forest of trees, best head up to Arnold nursery a few minutes away on Ritchie Highway.

We've been dealing with Eastridge Gardens for 11 years now and highly reccomend them. If you haven't be here during Christmas, this is a must see!
