My wife and I and our 4 yr son went on a last weekend trip of the Summer. We had a great time. The hotel has 3 different restaurants so very convenient for eating options. The prices of the food was good and food was good. Our room was ready early and I received a text informing us so we could check in early. That was very helpful. The amenities are a little run down, but I've seen that in many hotels in Mrytle Beach. Now by the late afternoon, the pools started getting kinda nasty. I know it's not the staff fault but perhaps they could clean a little more in that area during the day. It could be though because of staffing issues. Check out was at 10am which is early. They didn't have a lot of carts for luggage. It wasn't a huge issue for us because we were only there for long weekend. But if your trip is longer and have lots of luggage..that would be a pain. Overall, we were very happy with our trip. The staff was helpful, you get discounts at the restaurants and other places in the area with a discount card they provide at check in. The views from the room was great. We would come back again for another quick getaway to the beach! read more

First of all I'd like to say I like Brian and Karin, on a personal level they are both very friendly. However, as a bride, I had high expectations for our wedding day (May 1, 2026) but unfortunately our experience at Bay Watch Resort and Conference Center fell far short. Several issues occurred throughout the event that reflected a lack of preparation and coordination. Before the ceremony even began, the venue's speaker system failed on the beach, leaving our DJ without working audio. This created unnecessary stress right at the start of what should have been a smooth ceremony. Our daughter had a small portable speaker, but even our immediate family in the first row couldn't hear a word.  During the reception, the food service was disappointing--many guests received cold meals, and service overall felt disorganized. At one point, a server dropped plates onto the dance floor, which was both disruptive and concerning from a safety standpoint. It was also clear the event was understaffed, as delays and confusion continued throughout the night. There were also noticeable attention-to-detail issues, such as incorrect signage in both the lobby and upstairs areas displaying the wrong month for our wedding. Perhaps most frustrating was that my photographer ended up helping coordinate aspects of the evening--something that should never fall on a vendor hired for a completely different role. Despite these challenges, the venue has since attempted to place blame on the DJ and photographer rather than taking responsibility. Overall, the lack of organization, staffing, and accountability made an already stressful day even more difficult. We just spent the last 6 days in this unit and Baywatch Resort. Save your money and don't stay here. Room was disgusting and had to clean myself. Pubic har on floors, feet were black from the dirt on floors, have to make your own beds with terrible sheets, blood on couch and pillows. There are 10 rubber sheet type covers shoved in drawers. Unit never washed comforters or any brown blanket. Spent 6 hours cleaning and washing. Black mold all over unit. All around a terrible spot. Baywatch sucked! The ice cream store had maybe 4 flavors, all at the end. Bathrooms were broken the entire time, front desk people sucked. Completely bothered if you asked a question. If you leave your towels on chairs, make sure you are back in 30 minutes or they will move. So don't plan a long walk and set timers to check back on your towels. Plus, not ONE door was secured. Random people walking around all the time. Everyday had to deal with awful people who snuck in, then had to hear them argue until they leave.Bonus, smokers constantly smoking by gates to beach...which overflows right into pool are. Would definitely not recommend, there are TONS of better spots right down the beach. read more

We have stayed here multiple times and loved it, but this year was not good. Upon arrival, our room was not clean. The floor was covered in dirt and sand and had not been cleaned after the last people. Two burners on the stove did not work and there was a leftover box full of smelly pizza in the oven we discovered on day two. The worst part was the overwhelming smell of marijuana every day. it seeped into our room and we could not sit on our balcony because of it. The hallway and elevators reeked of pot smoke. We talked to the front desk two days in a row, and spoke directly with security who did nothing even though marijuana is completely illegal in SC. I messaged the website and FB page and got zero response. Two pools and a lazy river were also closed. What used to be a family focused resort is now allowing people to do whatever they want, with no regard for other guests. I do not recommend staying here and my family will not return. read more

Stayed in Room 1713 that was rented thru Vrbo. The room was pretty nice but needed a few updates. The A/C worked great which is always a plus. The downside was that a lot of the utensils were gone. The frying pan was gone so i could not fix breakfast the way i wanted. The kitchen sink drains were stopped up. Most of all the code for the parking deck was wrong. So, we had to use other people's codes to get in. We called and they said she would have someone call us immediately. We never got that call. We called back and had to leave a message and still no phone call. I would be very hesitant to stay there again. Who wants a room with problem that no one wants to fix? read more

Loved all the pools especially the baby pool. Loved the easy access to the beach. The view from the balcony was great. However we will not stay ever again due to the roaches. My husband killed six of them when we were there for a one week stay. The first one I saw was crawling in one of the kitchen cabinets. we went to the front desk and they told us "yeah people are always bringing stuff in here" well , we certainly didn't bring them with us. Anyway they sent pest control up ( we weren't in the room when they came, we were out at dinner) and the next day we were still seeing them and up until we checked out. Now my husband has to take all our suitcases and vacuum the outsides and insides before we bring them inside our house. read more

Bedbugs!!!!!! I encountered some serious issues during my Memorial Day weekend trip. When I arrived, I was informed that only one car could be parked in the garage due to a new rule they implemented for the busy weekend. After wasting an hour searching for 24-hour parking, we finally figured something out--let's just say we didn't have to go far. Later that night, as I was settling into bed, I noticed a bedbug on my pillow. This was obviously a nightmare, especially since we had our bags and beach items, like coolers, in the room all day. When the front desk was approached they wouldn't guarantee a refund until the manager arrived and insisted we wait for a pest control inspection in the morning. I ended up spending the next six hours, until 6 AM, devising a plan that included going to Walmart for bedbug spray, visiting a laundromat, and using a power washer at a car wash to clean all our belongings. Fortunately, when the manager arrived at 8 AM, she immediately issued a refund and allowed us to continue using the pool and other outdoor areas. However, our trip was over since we had nowhere to sleep that night, which forced us to fly home a day early, ruining the entire experience. In total, we only saw two bedbugs and conducted a thorough inspection of the bed, which appeared very clean. I suspect this might be either a new infestation or remnants of a previously treated one where a few bugs survived. I can predict that they'll comment below, stating that the pest control company found "no evidence" of bedbugs. Be sure to read further; there are other reports as well. We stayed in room 1-310. If you decide to stay there, I hope luck is on your side. read more

The main tower was nice at check-in so I was highly optimistic but once we got on the 9th floor in tower 1, we realized it didn't look clean and the entry-way walls were in need of painting. There was carpet of some sort also which wasn't clean (not sure why anyone would put carpet there instead of tile since rain blows in and soaks the carpet. We stayed in a unit on the 9th floor and it also had carpet which was nasty. The entire place needs updated and deep-cleaned. This unit smells like an ash tray. read more

Req full refund or another rm. Mgr stated no other rm avail/ refund thru Expedia. He'll send maint to see if cosmetic mold from humidity or mold that needs to be inspected. # BAYWATCH RESORT by VACASA UNIT 0906 TOWER1 - Everything You Need to Know from a very frequent traveler. First I want to say that I don't know where people go on vacation that can call this unit "luxurious or even good. There are other upgrades units but not this one. I've read all the reviews and judge that this would be an ok choice. I was 90% wrong. Let's do the positive first: Beautiful views of the ocean from the balcony! Lovely outdoor area. All again through the main building. You have to walk outside to get to the main building. It has 4 pools and a couple of tubs. It also has an inside and outside lazy river. Nice for kids. Beach access. There is a couple of beach access points. It also has a breakfast restaurant called the Bay Watch Cafe in the main building. A sweet ice cream store that also sell necessities are located inside the main building. The condo does have a coffee machine with very mediocre coffee. The coffee machine is also burned on the bottom. Let's talk the not so good, or frankly just bad. Building nr 1 is so run down outside and outdated on the inside. You cannot see the rundown part until u get to the dirty hallways and shady room entrances. Checkin: is in person. They will give you a pamphlet with the 10 digit room code to punch in as well as the parking garage code. There is parking outside where u can unload your luggage and then go park your car. Parking: The parking garage is right across the checkin main building. It's free but is first come first serve. They have good working elevators. We had lots of rain and this is why u want to book a room (if you decided to stay here) in the MAIN building. Make sure it's an upgraded unit. We were at building ONE and there is no walk through to the main building. So if it is pouring rain you have to walk outside to go to the main building. There is no cover to and from. The condo: The Condo entrance looks like a 1 star by the hour Motel on the Vegas strip. The condo is clean but so outdated and run down that it's hard to appreciate the cleanliness of it. The couch has stains on it and needed to be replaced years ago. The side of the refrigerator is rusted. There are only 1 bedside table for both beds. So inconvenient. I had to place my charging devices on the floor. How much can a side table cost ? Hairdryer: if anything is going to start a fire it will be this little rusted hair dryer that stopped working after a while. It had to cool down for 10 min before I could use it again. There is NO dishwasher and NO washer or dryer and we had no ice. Other more upgraded units have all of this. There was a leak in one of the hallway downstairs. Overall: This is clearly a place that needs help and clearly the owners of at least this unit cannot give 2 craps about what this place looks like and want to spend no money to maintain it. If u are here for just a day or so and just want to lay your head down and be out during the day, look for a more upgraded unit at least. We will not be back. Forced to book through vacasa, won't give a refund no matter what, nor move the check in dates to a different day, nor does their travelers insurance let you get a refund unless there's "an evacuation order". $700 down the toilet due to the weather and I'm not risking my families lives just to visit the beach. The customer service here was terrible. We booked online but either way the outcome and pricing would have been the same. About $170 for the one night, king size apartment rental. It is an older resort, but it was clean. Customer service was rude and condescending. At or around 9 pm after coming back from dinner, we realized that the temperature in the room was 80 plus degrees and uncomfortable. The AC unit was frozen, and maintenance came in only to confirm that it was not working. We requested to be moved to another room, note* there were many available, but was told no, and sent us 2 box fans. We couldn't sleep in the King size bed, too hot, so slept in the pull down Murphy style full size bed in the living room with the balcony door opened, with the amazing box fans! Stay away from this one, terrible experience, rude customer service and not worth it!!! read more

Enjoyed a week in the off season. Got rained out 3 of our 6 days. So got to spend more time than usual in the room. Everything was great! I would recommend taking a look at the electrical outlets. Me, my now Wife & Best man stayed in room 420. My best man flew home on tuesday mornjng after our wedding. We booked through vrbo. We drove from North Ridgeville Ohio and arrived late Saturday afternoon july 23rd 2022. . When we got to the room we had to figure out the digital dead bolt. It was a bit tricky at first. As this was not a standard key card room because it was privately owned. And not owned by the resort. The room was a lil bit dated the lamps were gold from the 90's. I didn't chose to vacation here for lamps. But it was clean and exactly like the pictures on the vrbo listing. I didn't see any bugs in our room the entire stay. There was a fully stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels. The view of the ocean from the balcony was amazing! The room, amenitys, pools, and beach access. The host on vrbo was great there was nothing in there control to complain about everyrhing was exactly as it was promised in the listing. We got married on July 25 2022 on my birthday. She was my birthday present. Enchantedbeachweddings. Com set it up on the 14th street beach up the street. The complaints I did have outside the hosts control.. This does not reflect the host. As they don't control the resort. 1. The lack of wrist band enforcement at the pool. People not staying at the resort we coming in from the public beach nextdoor and being rowdy. 2. Pool chair policy if your not up by 8 am don't expect to get a beach chair to sun your self with. The 30 min rule was not enforced at all. By the staff at the resort. 3. Upon arrival at 7pm the 23rd. The parking garage was a pain in the back side. Most people didn't go to driving school. Took almost 20 minutes to park. I am not blaming the resort or the host for this. It's just how parking works here. But expect to spend time parking. 4. Then we had a cooler and several bags to get to the room. No bell hops at the door at the time. And no carts available. I had to put my cooler on my suit case and wheel it to the room. My friend/best man came with us to help with the drive. We had to carry all of our items to the room by hand and foot. Not what anyone wants to do after 11 hours in the car. My advice is bring a beach wagon. And for the resort to buy more bellhop carts. So overall this was the best vacation experience my wife and I have ever had. I give Leanne Jean a 5 out of 5 on this stay. We will be back. read more

Cockroaches. It's filthy. Dishes in the sink when arriving. There's no amenities, (one tiny single use bar of soap for the entire family) Extremely outdated. Check in was 4pm. Checkout was 10am. You're not allowed to park under the entrance when checking out only checking in so you have to tote your luggage to the parking garage and make several trips.. At least the air conditioning worked. An amazing room for the money. Spectacular views from the living room and balcony of the beach and Atlantic Ocean. The balcony also overlooks the hotel's outdoor pools and Jacuzzis. One bedroom with two queen-size beds, and a murphy bed in the living room. One bath and a full kitchen with dishwasher. We only spent one night here, so we didn't get a chance to fully explore everything the hotel had to offer, but we did have dinner in the sports bar overlooking the beach. The food was delicious, and the staff was super personable. The room may have been a privately owned condo, because the décor was nicer than you'd expect from a hotel, but the living room area rug needed cleaning. Hallways, elevators and some common areas could use some cleaning and TLC. All told, it was a fantastic deal and a memorable stay! read more

Terrible, disgusting, and long response to concerns. True hotel environment but rooms/condos inside upkeep is done by individual owners. Family vacation so had three different rooms and upgrades were seen in some where owners cared. However facilities themselves were horrific. Roaches, Roaches, Roaches, mold, and no standards. Cleaning crew, NON-existent, called several times as room shower and bathroom full of hair, linens not clean, some simply needed to be out of rotation and THROWN AWAY. When asking for new linens were told there were no clean linens or only 1 towel was available until the next day. Told free WiFi....lies, terrible connection and was told it wasn't the properties responsibility....BUT YOU ADVERTISE FREE WIFI!!! Pools and hot tubs disgusting...band-aids in them, not cleaned, ice machine COVID breeding ground parking was a joke. BRING YOUR FAVORITE VHS TO ENJOY!! As a former travel agent I am very careful when booking hotels. This was a 1 night trip about 2 hours from home and my husband and I were just looking to get away for the night on the beach. Pictures look amazing, reviews were good. I booked it on Expedia . Once I walked into the lobby I knew it was a mistake . It was full of young adults , smelled of Malt Liquor and the older front desk worker was being rude to every guest I saw checking in..I crossed my fingers .. my agent was very pleasant. We were on the 14th floor in south tower. Fingers still crossed..might I add this room was 230 bucks .. got off the elevator and bam, there was the room. Right by the loud ass elevator.. opened the sticky door.. right into the bedroom.. smelled of horse urine.. walked through to sitting area .. floor was sticky and damp and everything smelled .. sat on couch and it felt of fabric covered cardboard .. chair looked like someone sat on it for a piss.. and WHY SO MANY MIRRORS?? Am I being watched?? The small balcony was a nice view of the ocean if you can ignore the painted fingernails left on the ground.. i was not pleased .. called front desk and got " Karen" the older desk agent who said there was nothing they can do since I booked on Expedia.. we made it the best we could..mattress was like rocks , slept in our clothes.. again .. with the mirrors .. oh and the epic .. cat tiger puzzle on wall?? Lamps from 1990 and artwork so faded I can't tell what the hell it is.. We booked unit 1936. The view from the 19th floor was the only pleasant part of our stay. Room was not "clean" when we arrived as it smelled like cigarettes and mold. Fridge is broken so my two kids had either luke warm milk or half frozen milk from the freezer. We adjusted the temperature to make sure it wasn't a thermostat problem. Whole refrigerator steams up and smells god awful. When we turned the jets on in the bathtub it blew black particles all in the water and was the spattering all over the bathroom. The unit was also advertised as PET FRIENDLY on every booking website for them to tell me AFTER booking that the hotel is pet free. Bartenders are extremely rude if you do not own a unit in the tower. You are treated like a nuisance no matter how big of a tip you leave. I would highly suggest booking with Compass Cove instead!!! All amenities are the same and included and they ACTUALLY care about quality utilities. It's not the beat down furniture and outdated decor that's is the issue. It's every single thing else. We went through a third party service to rent our hotel (1806 in the very north tower to be specific). Upon arrival our hotel was not cleaned at all and when we were able to reach the owner she said that the party she had to clean the hotel for in a car wreck and could not provide the service. We had to clean our own hotel room and buy new sheets and clean the other sheets from the previous guest. It's a $1.50 to wash down straits and a $1.00, however do not expect the $1.00 dry to get the job done. We have bought new towels just so we could dry off from the shower and have been drying them for a day now in between the dryer going slow and the other guest stealing our dryer when we put our money in and walk out to let it dry. 10/10 not recommended. read more

We just stayed at this resort for 9 days in room #1535 which I give a 5-star for the room and would stay there again. This review is for the resort which is our 2nd time staying here. I like this resort and the only reason it got a 4-star is because the grounds have a lot of debris that doesn't always get picked up. But I blame the vacationers for that not the staff because I see the staff working consistently to keep things clean. I wish people would pick up after themselves but I saw so many leave their trash lying around and even saw some woman's bathing suit lying near the lazy River one morning. What the heck? Did she walk back to her room nude? Lol I love all the pool and hot tub options here and we had a good breakfast one morning from the cafe. The elevators were quick and the bathrooms clean. The Bay Watch Resort in North Myrtle Beach, SC for my fellow Leo pal and myself was a hidden gem in a Lion's Magical Kingdom! Beyond our wildest dreams! What a way to celebrate our August Birthdays! The most amazing fact about our oceanfront view was that every morning the ocean greeted us with a SMILE! We prepared each day with a huge morning splash in the great, mystical ocean. The ocean energized us in preparing us for our day filled with educational and fun activities. And, yes we met South Carolinians, who gave us some background history of the area. It really was home away from home! My fellow leonine, SB prepared a mouth-watering breakfast of griddled pancakes, bacon and loads of fruit. We toasted and washed it all down with Gold and Glitter! We took full advantage of the balcony each day, but especially our last night. We watched majestic eagles spreading their wings and soaring, some suspending their action in the air. What a performance against a moonglow night in the sky. We listened to music all night to memorialize this 2021 vacation. We were lucky to stumble upon a Turtle Island and a Historical Museum full of artifacts. Bay Watch Resort exceeded our expectations! We are thrilled that we picked this hotel. Everyone associated with the hotel were extremely thoughtful and helpful and that made our stay, truly awesome! Thank YOU! read more

Full disclosure - We booked through a third party so I won't speak on the room conditions as that was the sole responsibility of the unit owner. The resort as a whole is just plain gross. Everything was dirty, every single spot in the whole darn resort is filthy. There were roaches everywhere. The pools and hot tubs were dirty - lots of unidentified gross looking floating objects, bandaids, gobs of hair, you name it. The pool deck/pool area was ridiculously crowded all day, every day - good luck finding a place to sit. People put a towel on a chair in the morning and leave it there all day (even though there are signs saying not to do that). Beach was also insanely crowded all day long. Not nearly enough tubes for the lazy rivers - the indoor one had 5 and the outdoor one had maybe 7-8. Nobody was taking any precautions related to Covid - there were signs saying only one party on the elevator at a time, nobody paid any attention. Signs also stated employees were not to ride the elevators with guests, nobody paid any attention to that either. The fitness room was a joke - half of the machines didn't work, they were rusted to the point that they couldn't function. The parking deck is separate from the resort itself and pretty far from Tower 1, which is where we stayed. Dragging our luggage, groceries, etc. back and forth was a huge pain. Not to mention all the bro-dozers that people insist on squeezing into parking spots that weren't meant for a giant truck. Parking was a nightmare. So glad we rented a vehicle for the trip because I didn't want to incur damage to our own. The one good thing was the location, which is close to a ton of stuff (restaurants, shopping, excursions, activities, etc.), although you do have to drive as the area is not walking friendly. We did also appreciate having bar and restaurant options on site and we frequented them throughout our stay. I would never stay at this place ever again and would not recommend it to anyone else. read more

We booked an Airbnb at Baywatch. My 17 year old daughter was laying out by the pool in one of the provided beach chairs and someone threw a large dog toy and hit my daughter's hand and leg making her bleed in two places. Since we booked with Airbnb not much they will do. The kicker is we had chairs in another location and the pool guy moved out stuff for other people. Recently we stayed at the Baywatch Resort in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Upon our arrival and throughout our stay, we had several issues: The room was not cleaned and there were still clothes remaining from the previous occupants. I spoke to the Manager on Duty, Marquel, after our arrival and he offered a full refund and room change - I accepted the refund, but declined a new room because we are a family of seven (five kids) and we had just checked-in and unloaded our items. We never received the refund and I also stopped by at check-out and left this in writing. I was assured he and his supervisor would receive this message again - there has been no word from anyone. The Resort as a whole was so run-down and dirty, it was not what was marketed or advertised at the time of booking. The phones in the room did not operate so we were not able to contact the front desk directly. A Maintenance man entered without permission while I was on the patio and I did not know he was in the condo's main bedroom to collect the items left behind until I was startled by him. My husband and five kids were at the beach. On a second occasion, a different Maintenance man entered without permission in the afternoon while my 8 year old daughter was in the main shower and I was undressed in only a bra and underwear in the main bedroom and I opened the main bedroom door startled to someone in front of me. My husband and four other kids were at the beach. The pools, lazy river, and entire facility was dirty and the water was murky. This was the worst trip we have ever had and it was the only vacation we could take real quick before my husband had surgery for Thyroid Cancer. Sad when a restaurant in a resort which has hours listed as open is shut down at 7pm on a Sunday. No food options for guests other than to go outside the resort. At this point the term resort is being used pretty loosEly, and they should consider themselves a limited service hotel. I wouldn't have booked this place if it were up to me. We are here on a Wyndham timeshare scam, so they make the arrangements. It is our second time doing this, and the first time around was much better. The unit is old and outdated. The door to the balcony doesn't lock, and there isn't a screen door to leave it open and let air in. When we opened the fridge, someone else's leftovers were still there. The toilet keeps running, and overall, the place is dingy and unkempt. Like some of the others, we got antibacterial wipes, and cleaned the place ourselves. The fridge is rusted, so there isn't much we can do with that. The view of the ocean is nice, and the air conditioning works great, but the positives end there. read more

This place was dump. We got to MB several times a year and stay at all different places. This was flat-out the worst so far we have experienced. Pool areas full of trash, construction going On Saturday morning at Indoor pools. Everywhere you look wa trash the showers by the beach were broken.. The hallways to the rooms smelled like septic. The onsite restaurant was AWFUL food tasted microwaved and it was $$$$$. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. We had room 1910 it was so tiny and old and dirty. This place appears to be so beautiful and accommodating but it's just a ploy. After paying over $800 to stay 6 nights I can say my stay was over priced. After I swiped my card I wasn't invisible. I understand early April isn't the busiest time in Myrtle Beach and assumed the service would have been better being there are less resort guests and the same amount of staff. This was wrong. Everytime I inquired about anything I felt I was being a complete burden to the staff. Not only that but it took maintance 3 days to get a remote for our tv Our room wasn't very clean. To be specific; huge white stain in carpeting with residue, mysterious white stain on decorative bed runner, dirt and hair in all corners of the room, hair and crumbs behind the headboard and I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting. There was a mold remediation company going in and out of the tower we stayed in which seemed alarming. The buildings are old and need major updates to maintain the safety and comfort of guests. I guarantee there is mold and asbestos in the whole south tower if not all three of them. The staff were timely and efficient in making sure we checked out at 11am though. A huge disappointment. I would give it 0 stars if I had the option. The rooms were horrible and it felt like bugs were jumping on me the entire time I was there. It was not cleaned -rigor to my arrival and I was told that was because of COVID. They said they can't hire because nobody wants to work. Yes they still charge you the $100 0r $150 cleaning fee. I will NEVER return and may never come back to Myrtle beach. Horrible experience. There were many other bad things about this resort but I don't want to go into it as I'm sure you get the picture. read more

We have been coming here for over ten years; it's long been our favorite place to stay. Until recently. This place began falling into disrepair in 2017. A year later, it's sad to see reviews saying that nothing has changed. Maintenance is sorely lacking here. Basic things like re-painting chipped painting, removing rusted metal, power washing or scrubbing dirty, mildew-stained tile and concrete. The hot tubs were often literally dirty with floating debris. Even the pool water quality is cloudy. This is a fantastic resort that management has seriously neglected. It's almost criminal what they've done to this place. It really is a shame because it doesn't have to be this way. read more

We had a three bedroom 3 bath suite, and it was beautiful. ocean front view, I did not meet one staff person that was less then perfect from the moment we got there from the moment we left everyone was so nice I will definitely be back and I do recommend this place read more
