The environment and vibe were also solid, especially with the live entertainment that kept the energy up throughout the night. The hookah option was a nice touch and added to the overall lounge atmosphere. Service was decent (7/10). The wait times and getting attention from staff took a little longer than expected, but it was understandable considering how busy the restaurant was. The music selection personally wasn't my favorite. It was about 90% Spanish music with very little variety from other genres, so I'd rate the music around a 2/5. If you enjoy predominantly Spanish music, though, you'll probably like the vibe more than I did. The pre fix menu was reasonably priced at $85.99 per person, and the options were okay for the value. Overall, I would visit again, but next time I'd definitely want to experience the outdoor seating area since I've heard that's one of the best parts of the restaurant.

We were sat in the outside area but ultimately ended up switching inside due to the cigar smoke. We were seated at a long both ar 6:48 pm and were given the tablet menus. We observed that there is was a happy hour (Monday-Friday 12-7pm) which we were still within time frame for. We were greeted when we sat so when she came back to see if we were ready, we let her know we were wanted to order from the happy hour menu. She said "after seven?", we asked whether to confim that it was still not 7? She replied, no and told us that happy hour was only one drink per guest. We each ordered a drink and had a one order of calamari, sliders, and a dozen and a half of oysters. That was all we got to experience as 8:30pm rolled around and we still had no main course. My stepbrother asked to speak to a manager where we he disclosed our frustrations with the service. A non-black family of 4 came in 20 minutes after us, and not only received appetizers, but main courses as well and were properly attended to. My 9-year-old waited 20 mins for a ginger ale. Table full of empty glasses and plates from appetizers as no one come to clear the table. On said dirty table they placed our silverware. My sister asked the sever 3 times for napkin which still had not been given after the silberware was placed directly on the tableb and we still had to request napkins. All to which the manager offered us two bottles of champagne. Where we had three minors (9, 20, and my 18 year sister who's graduation we were celebrating) my stepfather then spoke to the manager again to no resolve, he paid the bill of the little we had and my sister left in tears. Thanks to this place it ruined my sister's graduation day. I'd never return.

We decided to sit inside because it was a bit hot outside and inside were several empty two seater tables. A large party of more than 15ppl were seated, a table of 3ppl, and several couples at other tables. The place is tastefully decorated with a beautiful 3D aesthetic pleasing wall mural of a woman's face. 2 bathrooms were neat and clean. Food was delicious, and presentation was awesome. We ordered their sampler that comes in a 3 tier serving tray: coconut shrimp, calamari, chicken and steak skewers, wings(the only thing that didn't seem fresh and did not taste like sweet Thai chili-and we eat sweet Thai chili a lot -that's how I know), mini bite size various meat/seafood empanadas with the outer dough having a normal red or black coloring. The 3 chimi sliders were very tasty and the guacamole and yaniqueque -flat dough that is deep fried and crispy. Services although excellent seemed very slow. It is not uncommon to find service slower when there are less people in the establishment because staff will go about setting up their station, cleaning without noticing that people are waiting for water, ready to order food or drink or asking for the check. I empathized with a woman who I noticed sat by herself, slightly annoyed to wait to place an order her great looking fish-she had to signal a server to come take her order--by this time there are still several empty tables. Overall, because the food was great, I will come back again.

That attention to detail was appreciated. The crowd was mature and respectful, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The music selection offered a nice variety and complemented the brunch experience well. Service: Our waiter was friendly and attentive. When I requested lemon and an additional brunch menu so my husband and I could each review the options, I learned that only one menu was provided for the table. Since I tend to take my time deciding what to order, having a second menu would have made the process much easier and more enjoyable for both of us. I asked for the menu and lemon he said he would come back and he NEVER did.. we had to ask for it twice . And at the time of ordering our meals it's then when they beamy us the lemons to squeeze into our glass of water. Food: I had the chicken and waffles . Nothing difficult to put together. However if you are going to state on your menu that it's chicharrón de pollo was bland no taste I had to ask for lime to give it some salty mess to it. My husband steak and eggs which came with rice. Steak was chewy he said it was ok nothing to brag. Over all I will give this place a 6 out of 10

I had my mind set on ordering…read morenonfortified red sangria, but discovered they only have brandy or other liquor infused sangria they make in small batches. You cannot order a fresh carafe or pitcher of sangria with the fruit in it here, which is what I was expecting from a place headlining sangria. So your experience of the Sangria Cafe for sangria will come down to whether you like yours fortified. I like my sangria freshly made to order with just the wine and chopped fruit, but you may have a better experience at Sangria Cafe if you prefer fortified sangria. So the Manager, Elios, was superb. He told me he would let me taste the red, white and lychee versions to see which one I preferred. Given they are all fortified to an extent, I chose to order margaritas. I prefer mezcal margaritas, but they did not have mezcal at the time. So I went with the tequila classic. It was good and I had it to go for my evening at a cigar lounge. I also ordered food to go: the French cut pork chops with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus and the braised beef short rib with small potatoes and broccoli. Here's a twist: the food was better than the adult beverage at a place emphasizing the latter. At all times, my server, Hector, was superb in his own right. Service is probably the strong suit at Sangria Cafe, followed by the food. The French cut pork chops taste like they have been marinated or at least brined. You will eat these down to the bone and you will pick up those bones to clean them. The garlic mashed potatoes were great too, but the asparagus was a bit overcooked. On balance, this $30 dish was satisfying and would have been better had they included a little gravy on the side for the mashed potatoes. The beef short rib at $38 was even tastier. I appreciate the chef took the time to get a good cut of short rib and trimmed the excess fat down to a leaner cut. The meat is inherently marbled with fat, so the flavor is already going to be as present as the savory tenderness. If you dine at a restaurant where there is excess fat on the beef short rib, know the chef there is not putting in the work to trim all that fat. Coudos to the chefs in the Sangria Cafe kitchen for their trimming work. This is even better than the pork chops and you'll savor every bite. The broccoli was overcooked here, so the chefs could restrain themselves on the cooking time for the veggies. The small potatoes were perfect and what is not to like about marbled beef and potatoes. Here they have a little gravy with cooked onions to add to the savory pleasure. The Sangria Cafe is a great place to come with friends. This place will see lots of action as the weather warms. The atmosphere is upbeat and the music is in full swing. This is a Latino and Afro Latino crowd. The kitchen and service are very good here. Perhaps I'm in the minority preferring nonfortified sangria, but I wish that were an option with the chopped fruit in it. Perhaps the majority prefers the fortified hit, but it would be nice to have it more relaxed with just the wine as summer approaches or at any time of the year. Please keep the mezcal in stock as SOP for the mezcal margs. Thanks to Elios, Hector and the chefs in the kitchen. 3.5 stars.

All patrons look miserable upon entry as they had the doors open and no AC on during this humid, muggy day. We decided to stay despite the lack of engagement by the employees since our son was looking forward to a $17 milkshake. To make a long story short the service sucks, food severely over priced with small portions and the place was filthy. The staff drags their feet as their is gratuity automatically included on the bill so no need to actually work for it.

Instead, it was on the side of the highway and was a hidden cafe. It was small but they had the QR code is outside so that you can look at the menu. They have things like chicken wings, burgers, tenders, milkshakes. It almost reminded me of a Bronx version of Mom's Diner (if you have ever gone). It was indeed a bit pricey, for i spent $17 on a milkshake. I haven't tried the food but i can say that the milkshake (roughly 16oz) was delicious. I got myself the Crazy Fruity milkshake which tasted like fruity pebbles. They don't get a 4 stars because the milkshake pebbles were stale on the outside. I did like however the frosting layers inside the cup which made a nice taste and look to it. Will come here again to try the food. Till then if you looking for a fancy milkshake in the Bronx, looking to treat your kid for their hard work in school or a good grade... this is your place to go.

Sometimes I order over the phone, through GrubHub or just take a shot 5 minute drive to the restaurant and order takeout in person. One thing's for sure, no matter what time of day, they are ALWAYS busy and it can take a minute to place an order but NEVER have I been treated rudely or belligerently, you just have to to be patient. The food in my opinion is always delicious. I am a creature of habit and rarely order anything different. One thing is for certain, the chofan, Dominican fried rice, is absolutely divine, just like I would get when I lived in the Dominican Republic and equally as flavorful as my aunt makes it. So is their morir soñando, a drink mixture of orange juice and milk. It is my absolute favorite drink and always bings me back to my childhood. So in closing, this is one of my favorite Spanish restaurants and over the years I haven't noticed too much of a difference in food quality and service, other than in prices. Yes prices have increased, but you have inflation and the rising cost of food to thank for that.. Thank you to the management to providing consistently good food and service.
