We stopped at Greenwich for a short visit and thoroughly enjoyed Mediterraneo. The pasta was fresh and silky and with such depth of flavors of fresh mozzarella, eggplant and fresh tomatoes. The burger was one of the best my kids had and the French fries were fresh and perfectly seasoned. read more

I can't get this anywhere near me, so whenever I make the trip to CT, halibut it is. So white, tender, flavorful. Super busy vibe for a Friday night! Filled with locals with laughs and hugs! Great energy! The service was attentive and helped with the menu! I've been here a few times now and each time the experience has been solid. I usually make a reservation on Resy to ensure that I'm seated promptly. I usually sit inside but once sat outside and it was nice but the service was a little slower. I had the virgin vanilla pineapple daiquiri and it was the perfect level of sweet. And bonus because it was a virgin. For an appetizer I had the lamb hummus which came with pita. The lamb was the perfect level of tenderness and the hummus was yummy. For dinner I had the lamb kebab and the kofte, with rice and tzatziki. The kebab was cooked a little over medium and the kofte was solid. I was so full I skipped dessert. But what we enjoy the most is dining at one of the popular restaurants on the Avenue that is new to us. We chose Mediterraneo because of the positive reviews we had read and the corner location that provides indoor and outdoor dining. The restaurant's recent renovation provided an upscale ambience with a Mediterranean flair. Inside the restaurant, one would find an elegant oak bar set aside with a comfortable cozy appealing dining room that expresses a contemporary Mediterranean premise. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our server made entrée recommendations that we thankfully chose. The food was decent . Our waiter was very nice. However we were sitting outside and there was a table inside that allowed their young children to climb in and out of the window onto the sidewalk. The children (ages about 4-6) were yelling, hitting eachother and climbing in and out of the window. (I have children so I understand children can't always sit still) When we told one of the wait staff that we were concerned about the safety of these children literally jumping in and out of the window we were told "well they're children and they are very good customers sooo.....". Tables were socially distant with dividers up in between tables as well. Our server was beyond friendly and attentive. Food was brought to the table quickly, and server allowed us to take our time and did not rush us one bit. I had the potato gnocchi in a truffle cream sauce topped with egg and pancetta. The portion was perfect. This dish was phenomenal! We also ordered a pizza and salad, which also both were great. The pizza was a bar pie, which was cooked well. Hit and miss. We stopped in on a weekend evening at 8 pm without a reservation. We were told they should have a table in 20 minutes, which was spot on. Meanwhile we had a couple of cocktails at the bar that were sub par - mostly mixer and little real liquor. My wife suspected they were substituting cheap gin/vodka and purple food coloring syrup rather than the real Empress Gin. I tasted the drink, it wasn't good. The table service was good, in fact everyone was friendly. The sea scallop dish was fantastic. I would go back just for it. The steak was ok. Perhaps if they let it rest before slicing it the meat would have turned out better. read more

One of our favorite restaurants when in Greenwich. We sit at the bar and the food and service are outstanding.

Good food and a beautiful atmosphere, especially when the weather is nice. Small patio off the side of the restaurant and plenty of outdoor seating during Covid. The food is on par with most of the other restaurants on the Avenue, but you will pay for it. The menu is extensive but tailored; they have something for just about everyone. We ordered the pizza, tuna, wagyu burger, Bronzino, sea bass special, and lava cake. Everything was recommendable and worth getting again. It could be five stars, but the service was slower than you would expect for a place like this. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, considering they doubled their capacity since Covid and are likely squeezing to close those 2020 margins. Altogether, I will return. read more

TWO well deserved stars! No more. Trust me. I'm VERY generous with my stars and after this dining experience; they are lucky that they received a rating of two instead of one. It's two because the food is edible. But everything else is sub par for the price range. It is an overpriced California Pizza Kitchen. AT BEST! I arrived at 5:00 and pretty much had the place to myself; so there was no excuse for the very poor service. I have to start by mentioning that the temperature inside the restaurant was balmy and NOT in the pleasant way. Perspiration was slowly tricking down my spine and THROUGH my light, flowing sundress by the time I left (1ish hour later) I should also say that I came about dining here through a recommendation by my jeweler. I always take his recommendations when I'm in town. (I plan to call him tomorrow and advise him not to send his clients to this place anymore) Gazpacho was my choice of starter. It is the PERFECT COVID appetizer. Nobody should stand within 6 ft of you, much less engage in conversation after you've dined on their Gazpacho. The garlic could seriously kill a cow. From there it just got worse. My second course, pizza, came out on top of my appetizer and then I was ignored until they brought me the check. FYI... I was actually celebrating a huge purchase that I had just made. HUGE! We are talking six figures for a piece of jewelry that I had just driven from Maryland to Greenwich to buy. So despite the lousy service and mediocre food; I WOULD HAVE ORDERED DESSERT, had it been offered. Instead I just paid my check when they dropped it off and left. Very disappointing. read more
