    Looking onto 18th
    Derek L.

First, @management please renew your website hosting because the website is down! I got to play before the website went down and overall was impressed with the course. It's a beautiful layout with fluffy bunkers, diversity of grasses, and holes that make you think about course management. Not every shot off the tee is a driver shot, especially in the 18 mph afternoon winds I played in (think gusty). Greens were also in fantastic condition and are firm and fast. Definitely think about aiming for the front of the green and letting the ball roll on - it's a links course after all. Will definitely be coming back! Honestly the minus 1-1.5 stars is due to the lack of an on course marshal to tell the group behind us to relax (we were definitely on pace and actually finished in 4 hr 15 min), the insane winds that made the round a bit difficult, the website not being up right now, and some lack of clarity on certain holes where the green was - I aimed for the wrong green on a few holes.

A windy links style course. I can only offer my perspective on the front line, but it starts off pretty tough. A par five with the wind blowing right in your face! The greens were pretty tricky with some pretty substantial elevation changes along them when I played, the greens were freshly aerated, but that's not the reason I shot poorly . For those of you who take the sport more seriously, there's a driving range, so you can work out your kinks An added bonus is seeing the planes takeoff and land at the airport right next to the course.

Big piles of sand in the fairway

This course has really gone downhill. On the first hole, the fairways are lush and very nice, but as you go through the course, you see that the course has become troubled with the gopher holes, inconsistent bunkers filled with either mud or sand dunes, which are deep and difficult to get out of, and huge patches of bear dirt. The tee boxes are also very inconsistent some of which the grass is very long and very far from smooth. The greens were consistent. But here's the worst part, Palo Alto, which is a liberal bastion has deemed that anywhere off the fairway is a sensitive environmental area. The starter takes it upon themselves to threaten you before you round. If you go in this sensitive environmental area you're subject to being kicked off the course. The only other interaction I had with course staff was on the back nine at a par five where I pulled the cart off the cart path onto the grass. I was chastised for being too close to the Green. The cart was actually parked 5 yards from the green, and 2 feet from the car path. I do this so others can drive by if they need. The round cost $120 for 18 holes, a cart, and a small bucket of balls. Really not even close to worth it.

I don't see the café on here at all, we are visiting from out of State, but did not bring our Golf Clubs ? darn it,. Food was delicious and the staff was great she was so much fun, I ordered hey chips and my husband ordered a patty melt salad, really, it was soo Good.

The last time I played this course was a year before the pandemic. Many years before that I used to play this course with coworkers after work on Fridays in the summer months. This was well before the remodelling of the course to the one today. I must say the fairways and greens have improved a lot. The course is kept in very good condition. My only complaint is the high price of the green fees to play this course. It used to be owned by the city of Palo Alto but I am not sure who runs it now. The winds from the bay really pick up in the early afternoon and can add to the challenge of playing this course. Hopefully I will have another opportunity to play here some day.

    Looooooong par 4s and 5s

This course has a lot of challenging par 4's and 5's! Plus you'll have to fight the winds here. The course is fairly open and flat but some holes do have a few small hills. Greens are conservative. It's very easy to read putts here but no guarantee you'll make every birdie or par attempt! I came here around 3pm on Saturday and didn't finish until 750 or so. Could have been faster but the group in front had 3 or so beginners. The course is tough but definitely doable for beginners! It's a pretty long 18. I felt like some of the par 5's were a mile long! The course is walkable! I had a push cart and did fine. Clubhouse and bar were nice. Wish they had some grab and go beer and snacks. That would have been more convenient. The range was in great shape! The putting green is an exaggeration of the real greens on the course. Practicing before your round would be ideal! And last but not least, there is ample parking!

Mosquito infestation!!!! Soaked greens obvious irritation problem Got eaten alive for a 90$ green fee. Never again.... don't waste you time or money not worth getting dengue for this mediocre over priced course.

Group just teed off walking to fairway, second group on tee box waiting, and our group waiting behind tee box...

Have to say, I was pleasantly surprised when I asked about using the hitting bays to demo clubs, and a nice young lady got me set up and even said she would build clubs with shafts to my specs to try! Got to demo three of the hottest new drivers and 3 woods with no sales pressure in their state of the art golf simulators. Although, I didn't buy, I was impressed with the service and selection. Then I began walking around the store and saw they have a Trackman practice area that people can sign up for as regulars and a good amount of clothing and accessories with many popular retail brands (Nike, Adidas, etc) and lesser known but quality looking apparel on sale for reasonable ($50 and under, not $100-150 on sale) prices. As a regular shopper at the Golf Mart Superstore in South City/San Bruno, I would day this store is nicer but doesn't have as many used clubs, esp. from top brands like Taylormade, Callaway, Ping, etc., to choose from. As an avid golfer interested in improving my game, I will be back soon to try out more of the latest equipment or perhaps take advantage of their practice program or free fitting service, too!!

I tore a tendon in my rotator cuff because I lacked muscle. My physical therapist assigned…read moreexercises, but it seemed like I was prone to tearing other tendons if I didn't start building muscle. I chose Palo Alto Fit because of its location and one-on-one training rather than a group class at, let's say, 24H Fitness. Before coming here, I didn't know how to use any of the machines, how to target certain muscle groups, or how to set reasonable goals while keeping track of my progress. However, through each session, I've learned how to use these machines and set goals for the week (especially regarding diet and lifestyle choices) so when I go about my day to day or do workouts on my own, I know how to determine an appropriate goal, workout weight, or set up a machine properly for myself. I knew I needed someone to help me one-on-one to understand my areas of improvement, and when receiving help and support, I strongly value consistency in my mentor/coach/tutor, which it seems PAF also values. I've been able to reschedule sessions (even last minute) while keeping my same coach, which is another point of appreciation! PAF starts you off with a free fitness assessment where they take your in-body scan and you talk about your goals. Every 4 weeks, you do another scan, and it's been great seeing and physically feeling the results!! It's been about 6 months now, and I only go once a week due to finances and scheduling, but it's worth every penny and I genuinely look forward to my workouts with my coach. My coach, Coach Joshua Villagomez, is well-versed in physiology and genuinely listens to me during the workouts and when I say I want to focus on a specific thing for my body. He pushes me to grow stronger and beyond the limits of what I could have ever imagined myself doing, and seeing the progress in the results has been seriously worth it. I've completed physical therapy much quicker than anticipated, and I'm now able to do more than before in terms of shoulder mobility and usage. I'm extremely grateful to him! I know everyone says their coach is the best, but he's seriously THE BEST. One thing that really helped me personally for financing this fitness journey was the flexibility for packages. They asked for the payment for the 12-week package (chose this package based on my goals and schedule) upfront. I genuinely can't afford that, but Nina (the owner) was kind enough to make a custom package that was realistically payable for me. She didn't want to turn me away because at the end of the day, health is wealth, and she helped me make that a priority. I'm not quite a gym rat yet, maybe just gym gerbil, but I'm excited to continue my health journey with my coach and PAF! -- Other things to note: - lockers, showers, small microfiber towels provided - I've even borrowed workout gloves when I felt like my hands were hurting from lifting the bar (an unfamiliar thing for me) - everything is kept extremely clean; it even smells clean all the time - water fountain inside - very well temperature-controlled (it could be 10° or 100° outside, but the inside is a good room temp) and good air flow - high ceilings - natural light - parking is easy (lot behind the building, street parking, and city garage across the street)
