    Driving Range

I've been to mariners a few times a week within the last month and absolutely love the facility! During peaks hours like after work or the weekends, the driving range can be pretty crowded. We found 11am-1pm on Sundays or anytime before 3 pm on the weekdays are the best times to hit the range as we can easily find bays next to each other. The course is also a fun 3-par course that's pretty beginner friendly. We always finish within 1.5 hrs max even when it's busy. It's a perfect course to practice your short game. We loved it so much we started going twice a week.

    The Range

I've been going to the range and utilizing the Top Tracer system for about 7 years. I have a great amount of vision loss and Top Tracer has enabled me the ability to visualize each shot on the monitor. The staff is great and the grounds are neat and clean! I also enjoy the air traffic coming over head going to KSFO

Cheap, clean, beautiful. When I duff 90% of my shots and am upset that I suck at golf, I take a look around at how beautiful the place is and that usually fixes things.

Mariners is a good but BUSY, very busy driving range- two stories ball machine is cash only I believe but it is nice. They have the Top Golf machines that give you all the information and its a cheap version of top golf if you want to hit balls. They have the upstairs and downstairs and it is semi see through so you can tell how busy it is and most times people share but people are always here in groups so it can get busy. parking isnt the easiest but there is a lot of it. the views of the bay are nice which also means it gets windy there so be sure to bundle up!

Really cool driving range with top tracer technology. I brought my family here for my dad's birthday and they all had a good time. We aren't super serious golfers. but we're all athletic and we do own our own clubs so we brought those with us. We came to the range around 8am on a Sunday morning and it was already a little busy. Although the first level had a couple open spaces my family and I opted for the second story so that each of us would have our own station. It also worked out because on the second story you could see the land bridge to the east bay and the water more clearly so the view was a nice one. We paid in cash and for $40 we got 2 full buckets. Initially we got 1 bucket to start but my dad and brother were having such a good time hitting (and tracking where their balls where going, how far, how fast, etc.) that they kept wanting to hit more so we bought another bucket. This was my second time using the driving range portion and I'd come back again.

Love coming here to hit golf balls, relieve stress, and practice my swing. It's like Top Golf but super outdoors and food isn't being brought to you, but it totally should. They got lounge seats downstairs and some bench seats upstairs. You can play a game on a "course" or just hit the ball and see how far you're hitting them. It's a much easier drive to hit balls in Foster City than it is to drive to Top Golf in San Jose.

Beautiful course with views of the city. Par 3, 9 holes. Everything is pretty well kept. Haven't checked out the driving range, but overall great experience.

I love going here after work to distress. Has a nice view and if you're trying to catch sunset, this is the place to be! They have the range and can play short game as well. Fairly cheap balls.

    Balls for driving range!

Love this place. Best par 3 course around sf. Also, the top tracer driving range is incredible.

I had booked our tee times well in advance, but there was a bit of a miscommunication on the books when we arrived, and the staff seemed surprised by our family check-in. Honestly, Nate was the absolute MVP of the day. Without him, our day would have been ruined. So, we truly appreciate him and we were so grateful that he went above and beyond to get us completely taken care of, ensuring our family was able to stick together and play/spectate as a group for the whole round. We timed the day perfectly, wrapping up on the 18th hole right around 8 PM. To cap off a great day, we had dinner at The Conservatory. The customer service there was top-notch, and the food was exceptional. My dad enjoyed it so much that he already wants to come back to try out the Ocean Course next time--hopefully with a more organized situation at check-in!

With that in mind, I also knew that I didn't want to get clubs at a big-box retailer like SportsMart because most of the young kids that work there, while quite nice, are usually pretty clueless about the particular sport - especially golf. So I searched for smaller retailers and came upon The Golf Mart, which is on the Mariner's Island Golf Course property in San Mateo. Great thing too, because it's literally two minutes away from my office! In any case, when I got there, I spoke with Jerry who is one of the store managers and told him I was looking for a set and that I was once a low handicapper. As I was determined to get back into the game, I wanted to get a set of clubs that gave me the forgiveness of a game improvement club but allowed me to work the ball as I got my swing back. Jerry showed me several, but as it was late in the day, recommended that I come back when I could go to the range to try the clubs out. The next day, I returned and worked with a very nice fellow, Brian. I explained my situation to him and he immediately started pulling clubs. I tried Pings, Calloways, and ended up getting a set of Mizuno MX300's, which are the absolute BOMB! Love these clubs. It also helps that the shop custom fits the clubs. So the buying experience was simply outstanding. I also ended up getting a Taylor Made R9 driver and a Burner 3-Wood; both fitted to my swing. Here's where it gets GREAT, and why I will be coming back to that store from now on: Their customer service in every way is the best I've ever experienced! First off, they have a 90-day guarantee on ALL the clubs they sell. If, within the 90 day period after you buy a club, you don't like it, you can return it, no questions asked. I took advantage of this policy. To help accelerate getting back into the game, I took lessons. In one lesson, where I was practicing with my driver, my instructor couldn't figure out why I so ahead of the club. Then he checked the flex of my driver's shaft, and said the problem was that it was a regular shaft and my swing was too strong for a regular shaft. At that, I went to the shop (which is literally 100 feet from the range), told Jerry about my instructor's feedback, and he re-shafted my driver right then and there. I was even a couple of days beyond my 90-day eval period, but Jerry said that since I bought a whole set there, he wanted me to be happy, and it was worth it because I'd come back; and I have since then. Just this past week, I bought two hybrid clubs and I'm totally confident with my purchases! So if you're looking for a great store that has a great selection and more importantly, great customer service, look no further!

That means if you buy something and you can't hit the damn thing you can bring it back in 30 days or less to exchange it for exactly what you paid for it. The mattress probably came with pinhole so didn't hold air in. Used up a credit so didn't keep the receipt. Always keep the receipts from this store. Andreas, a manager when I called to explain the situation said he could give me a $30 gift card. But when I got there, I waited about 45 minutes and he didn't give me a refund. He gave me a receipt at my request since I didn't want to go to that store again, saying I left both there for customer service to resolve the next day...figured he could mail me a gift card as promised. The Big 5 store where I bought it understood the situation and apologized for the way I was treated because the actual manager, Matt, hung up on me 4 times and each call was the same: he didn't listen to me and told me to call their customer service and then hung up on me. When I was told by Coleman to take a photo of the items so that they could give me the proper customer service...nobody at the store would take a photo of my items for me. But Matt didn't stay on the phone long enough to hear it. I'm now thinking that's because they tossed the items long before my month deadline expired. Coleman took care of me anyway. April 22 I brought the items to this store and Jessica in customer service told me that I had a month to resolve the issue, not necessarily pick it up as non profits have pick up schedules. Several days before the month ended, I found very appropriately, an abuse shelter who would pick up both items once they had a team member to make the 45 minute trip to do so. I notified the store and customer service before the deadline of the plan that a non profit would be picking them up so they had no right to toss my items. I let the store know on Friday 5/29 that someone was on the way from San Jose (within a week of the deadline within which the plan had to be communicated, as Jessica abruptly mandated) and gave the store the heads up. Andreas couldn't find it and after so many lies and being hung up on so many times, and Jessica not listening and talking over me when I tried to correct her with accurate info, I figured that when he said he would look for it and let me know...that I would never hear. So today, my last call with Jessica, the manager of Big 5 customer service, she defended their action to toss my items since there was a pinhole leak (which they knew from the beginning as I told them so and it was sold that way; I think it was a prior return) and reneged on her prior comment that I had to let them know within the month...not picked up within the month. So I got the expected answer from her when I asked her to send a new queen air mattress and pump to this shelter and here's their address. She verbally attacked me. Now off to call the shelter...and let them know the unconscionable ending. Before I end this you should know that I called at least 5 other Big 5 CA stores for the regional/district manager's name and contact information and none would share it...so abusive managers can get away with their behaviors and their bosses never find out. So regional managers Paul Stockdale (No. CA) and Frank Golden (So. CA), make your contact info known if customers ask so that you can get the best store managers and staff who aren't afraid of accountability, truth and good customer service.
