I did the full premier fitting with Clare. Fun background story - we were paired up some months ago playing golf, which is how I found out about Cool Clubs and Clare being a master fitter there. From that round, I was impressed with Clare's knowledge in the game and her skills as a player. Finally took the chance to get fitted with her. The fitting was very thorough. For each category, I tried multiple head and shaft combos until we found the best-fit numbers-wise and comfort/feel-wise. Clare took the time to explain her methodology and was more than happy to let me try different setups when I asked. She also adjusted my current set of irons and putter so they're as dialed in as they can be. As another comment mentioned, the putter fitting is state of the art. They have multiple high speed cameras capturing your stroke from different angles, and Clare adjusted my putter until the fit was dialed in per slo-mo footage. I am very happy with the outcome of the irons, long-game, and putter fittings. Definitely feel like I found clubs that fit my swing. On driver, Clare put me on a better setup than my current gamer, but I can use some time on the driving range. Overall, highly recommend Cool Clubs' fitting methodology and Clare as a master fitter. There was no pressure to sell me anything, and the conclusion for long-game and putter is that my current gamers are really good fit already. Wife paid for me to get an iron fitting as my current irons were based off an old swing instructor and were super long (+2") even though I am 6'7" my arms are long. Claire did my fitting and was amazing. She is super through and takes the time to know if you are working on any flaws and your goals. Cool Clubs system makes sure that you have clubs that fit you and don't push products or brands on you. I asked to try the pxg irons just to see what they were about and Claire had no issues with it and even found a +2" shaft and it proved that going with the shorter shaft we had pinned down was the right choice. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get the right gear. 8/31/2019 update So after improving my swing and lowering my scores over the last three years or so I came back to see Clare for another iron fitting. Once again she went above and beyond. I did a driver fitting a month back at a competitor and the experience was no where near as good as a fitting with Clare. She measured all my specs and asked about what I was looking to improve on. We were able to narrow it down to two different irons and shafts. As always there was no pressure to buy anything and since we finished early (not because we rushed but because it was clear pretty quick which combos to go with) she talked to me about wedges and long game and I will be coming back to figure out what to go with in my fairway woods since my wedges seem to match what the numbers were showing with my swing. read more

Would definitely avoid Grayson if I can. He's a bit dishonest and said some questionable things as well. Some examples were: - Asked about lofts and if that impacts distance when comparing across different irons. He said lofts don't matter. A 7i is the same across all. I don't think a 35 degree 7 iron is going to go as far as a 28 degree 7 iron... - Pured all the iron shafts without asking if I wanted it. Did not explain what it does...just added it to the final total - Changed some shafts of my already owned irons and he didn't mention they would NOT be sending my old shafts back (could've sold them) - Said it will be all data driven and he's using all the numbers the trackman outputs. I then asked him about some of the numbers and he said they don't matter (a bit contradictory to his earlier statements) Don't know what the other fitters are like but this was my experience. read more

Claire is a great fitter. Professional, knowledgeable, informative and brand agnostic. She evaluated my swing, had me hit a lot of different head and shaft combinations, and made recommendations for clubs and shafts to work with my game. I had a really good time and learned about all the aspects of striking and ball flight/speed/loft etc. that she evaluated. the putter diagnostic machine was also really informative and breaks down your stroke so you can see what the putter is doing frame by frame. Recently had an iron fitting with Grayson. Very good experience. The process makes sense, uses your time wisely and in my case delivered good results. I ordered a set of Irons and new wedges. Worked with Grayson for the third time (driver, putter, then hybrids/woods). Grayson has never been pushy with selling. He simply lets the data do the talking. He also doesn't push the most expensive shafts, just the shafts that work for you (regardless of ability); he even recommended I don't buy a new 3 wood head but suggested we reshaft my current gamer. Keep in mind- everything is custom so yes it's more expensive than going to golf galaxy or the pga store, so enter with a budget in mind. But, IMO seeing the dispersion shrink, distance increase, and consistently getting the spin you want is more than worth it. Go get fit! read more

Gosh, this was disappointing. It's such a great-looking facility when you first walk in, but my experience was just not helpful (yet very expensive). My specific complaints are several: -They lacked several of the stock shafts for the clubs I was testing. (They make a lot of money from assembling custom clubs, so they don't like to fit for stock shafts because it takes away a profit opportunity. But I paid for a fitting, and I expect it to be complete and unbiased. It wasn't.) -The laser was broken so I was told to aim to the right side of the screen to compensate. -Trackman was not properly calibrated, and provided inaccurate yardage numbers. -There was a lack of attention to important details. I was fit for a shaft that was later found to not be available in the clubhead I specifically said I wanted. -Most disappointingly, there seemed to be no direction or expertise to my fitting. It felt like I'd hit a few shots and the guy would grab some other random shaft and then we'd try that. I would not rate the quality of this $125 experience much higher than I would rate walking into Golfsmith or the PGA Tour Superstore and doing the same thing for free. Perhaps others have better experiences there, and if you did I hope you'll post about it. But my $125 was a total waste as I did not feel any closer to making a decision when I left than I was when I entered. read more

You'll hit into an indoor cage with everything being exactly measured by Trackman and the Cool Clubs fitting software. I tried Titleist, Callaway, Taylormade, Mizuno, Ping and PXG irons and then we optimized for the shafts. After hitting about 20 combinations of clubs and shafts, we had dialed into my perfect new irons, which happen to be Taylormade. Visiting from out of state I needed a club re-gripped and walked into lame clubs. Here is the frustration and unprofessionalism I encountered. I walk in the door and some redhead dude was in one of the fitting rooms along with a female and another dude. looking stupidly at me for approximately 45 seconds they all stood there mouth breathing and looking perplexed. I don't know who if anyone works here since they all seem to simply stare at me. Hello McFly! someone say something, maybe a "can I help you", "hello"! After what seemed like a lifetime the gal came out of the room and addressed my "concern", the whole time kinda looking me up and down like I don't belong there. I just wanted a simple grip replacement but she said it would be almost a week to get it done because she is going on vacation. Wow, what a joke. Super lame and lazy ass employee! Maybe I wasn't spending enough $ to waste your precious time. Maybe I was going to buy a $1,500 set of clubs and, get a fitting the following week? Maybe you should just treat people with basic respect and do your job? There are plenty of establishments I can go to spend my money at and, not be treated like garbage. read more

This place is amazing! It had come highly recommended to me, but the experience far surpassed my expectations. Billy Grant is a genius when it comes to fitting clubs and providing recommendations to help one's game. I was fitted for a driver, and an hour later, I was driving the ball straighter and 20 yards farther! Next came the irons fitting, and I am amazed to report that I hit it as well with my 10 year old irons as anything customized by Billy. He recommended that I stay with my old irons, saving me what could have been thousands of $. Lastly, I had a putter fitting which turned out to be a 30 minute putting lesson, Initially I missed all 10 puts from 10 feet. After adjusting my set-up and swing, I made 9/10 from the same distance. If you are going to get new golf clubs, go see these guys. The process is 100% legitimate. The look at the clubs you have and measure top to bottom and tell you if they fit. If they do fit, they will not push clubs on you. I am a PGA Professional and went there to see was all the "noise" was about. Took about 90 minutes to go through irons and a driver. I hit about 10 iron and shaft combinations. At the end they show you a color coded graph of the distance of each shot with each club. Turns out I hit the Ping i20's 12 yards further than my existing blades. Guess what I bought. They also found a shaft that increased my club head speed by 4mph. Big deal, hell yes!! Needless to say I am a raving fan of Cool Clubs, and it is just that COOL. Ask for Kevin Bresnahan -very knowledgable and helpful. read more

This place is amazing. I worked with Billy who helped me pick between two shafts for my Nike Covert. Very honest guy that filled me in with all the info I needed with Trackman numbers. I am a golf nut and I am really into the tech side being the equipment junkie that I am. For the average golfer or the low handicap golfer like myself that is into the tech side and numbers this is the place to go! You can't rely on information from golfsmith ect... I was fitted by Billy, and he made the process efficient and thorough. Billy took the time to explain all of the numbers the trackman recorded from my swings, and was able to find a combination that we were both very satisfied with. I had a couple of fitting sessions over the course of two months, one for irons and wedges and one for woods / hybrid. If you are serious about your golf game make an appointment here with Billy Grant to get properly fit for your clubs. In my experience I found Billy to be knowledgable and honest in his recommendations, I kept my current irons and just went for new wedges with additional bounce. Billy was not pushy about the new irons, compared them to my current numbers and gave me the info to make an informed decision. Again with the driver fitting I had the option of the stock diamana shaft or an upgrade to a $$$ graphite design shaft and Billy said it was probably not worth spending the money on it. I appreciated the fact that there was not a continual upsell. Finally once you narrow down the options inside you can go outside and see how the ball flies hitting off real turf. I don't know anywhere else in the Bay Area where you can do this. Cool clubs are certainly not the cheapest option, but if you want to be properly fit and have unlimited custom options, this is the place to go. read more
