Every appointment that I have had in the past year has been rescheduled: Appointments with PCM-rescheduled, Appointments with specialists rescheduled. My PCM will not prescribe some of the medications that I have used for years! I had to take migraine medicine that had been expired for 4 years the last time I had a migraine. There are many other issues that would take allot of time to discuss, but I would foremost like to warn everyone that BSW's employee time is much more important than your time. read more

If you value your time or basic respect, look elsewhere. Baylor, Scott & White requires you to schedule appointments months in advance, but then like clockwork they'll call two weeks before to reschedule. It's incredibly frustrating and completely defeats the purpose of planning ahead. Even when you do manage to make it to an appointment, be prepared to sit in their waiting room for 20+ minutes surrounded by people on their phones on speaker, with no staff attempting to create a comfortable or professional environment. The final straw for me was during my annual physical. I asked a straightforward question about HRT, and my doctor actually snapped at me, saying: "I don't do well woman appointments." Completely unprofessional and genuinely shocking to hear from someone who is supposed to be providing care. This place is disorganized, dismissive, and absolutely not worth the stress. DO NOT SEE DR BERG. I wouldn't recommend BSW and wouldn't recommend Dr Berg to anyone looking for help. He does not listen to your thoughts and feelings and just jumps to his diagnosis. I went in looking for help and explained I do not want anything addictive. He claimed he heard me but came back with only addictive medication. I kindly declined and he YELLED AT ME. Then proceeded to end the appointment with a fist bump to me and my mother who was with me for support (who is blind and had a cane). I like my doctor but afraid she is getting burnt out because she brings up being overworked every time I see her. Communication is hideous. My doctor ordered two blood tests after the first one was abnormal. I assumed that they were using the same blood drawn. No, no one contacted me to tell me I needed to make another lab appt. Then when we complain that there's a communication breakdown, staff just turn it around to blame patients. They take no responsibility & no corrective actions. read more

My rating for the overall clinic is good because of the quality of professional care and my confidence that I am getting quality care even though the service aspect is challenging. Largest drawback is waiting for everything when it appears that staffing is appropriate to handle the volume of people waiting but some staff seem oblivious and don't help you. Long wait times for appointments for everything- labs, doctor visits, testing, imaging etc. Then you go in there in early afternoon and it's nearly empty but takes too long for everything even though you have an appointment. No reason when there are 6 check in stations and 2 have patients checking in that there are 3 people in line waiting for 10 minutes and same person processes all 3 - what? What could the other check in persons be doing??? However - once you are actually being seen by a health care provider, nurse, medical tech, phlebotomist or other technician the professional care is excellent. I tolerate the other annoying aspects because the care quality is very good. Also the location is convenient and it's not a huge facility where parking is a problem. I know healthcare has never recovered since Covid and the service aspect changed substantially because of how poorly workers were treated. But healthcare is a human service and that aspect needs to be foremost. read more

I would not recommend going to this clinic. They billed me for a yearly physical and then billed me again for a medical visit (the same visit) because they talked about my yearly lab work results. So basically if you have your yearly labs and the Dr. talks about the results they tack on 467.00 extra on top of the actual yearly physical fee which was 245.00. So a total of 712.00 was for no assessment at all. I stayed in my street clothes. No physical assessment at all. This is shameful, never have I been charged for someone telling me about my yearly labs- the results were not complicated at all. I had the results on my phone, didn't even need to discuss them. No changes needed, no new meds, I'm a healthy as a horse. Looking for a new clinic. read more

As bad as it gets. Doctors sending me to other doctors in a chain of referrals that leaves me with absolutely no results for the issues I am experiencing. Billing as been slow and lacking severely in the area of results. My first four visits, I was referred out by every single doctor I saw, except for the last one, who was a primary care physician. Leave it to a doctor to spend 3 minutes in the room with you, so they can hit a quota of 65 patients a day. All to help them take four vacations a year. Try doing work for one and see how much they complain about how much you bill them without a single consideration for the amount of time you spent do the job. When I ask for help with my billing questions, it took weeks to get a response. After the initial response, it took a week or more to get a response to the next question. If you don't respond within a week or two, the link is deactivated. You then have to start over. Making matters worse, is trying to find a way of actually contacting someone. Accountants say let's do everything electronically and make the caller go through a call-tree so we don't have to pay someone to answer their call and direct them to the appropriate department. I submitted all the paperwork they asked for. I was told it would be reviewed. I received a collections notice and was wondering what I did wrong. I called billing and was asked a series of robotic responses. I was told I didn't provide the appropriate forms. I stated I did. Guess what I was told?! I asked what do you need? I was informed of what I needed to submit and then informed it was too late. I asked why wasn't I informed of this before? I finally lost it and said I will never, ever visit another one of your clinics! read more

My prescription couldn't be renewed because I hadn't seen my provider in over a year. I call to get appointment with my PCM and they say she can't see me for over 6 months (yet the website say she is taking new patients). What is point of being assigned a PCM when you can never see them?? I then try to get seen for an acute issue and no appointments available with anyone, so I go to their "urgent care/walk in". I waited 3 1/2 hours and there was never more than 5 people in the waiting room. Is this poor management or lack of staffing or what? Don't advertise an urgent care clinic when it is not run like one. The staff and providers are great once you get in to get seen but the someone needs to get a handle on the processes that make this clinic not efficient or conducive to timely patient care. read more

Horrible, incompetent patient care! The clerical staff are rude & will give medical advice not knowing what they're talking about! Yet, if you're rude back, they threaten to dismiss you as a patient! It is pathetic! I waited weeks to see my PCP for an injury then at 5:30pm on Monday, a clerk called & stated that the doctor decided to "work from home" & do video Appts that Wed - the day of my appt. Scott & White can Bill for the same amount as an In-person visit, so they don't care but a Video call is far from good patient care! They are so profoundly overwhelmed and rely so much on PA's who know as much as I do, that one simply cannot use Scott & White for anything except very very basic things. I live in Sun City and need to see a gastroenterologist. I assumed I would have to drive to Round Rock. The first available appointment is May 22, 2023. That is right: two months away and I am having pain in my stomach and abdomen. Bloodwork and a CT scan (had to drive to Leander for that) did not find anything. Several doctors have left the clinic in Georgetown. No CT scans are available there. I have been here two years. Now that the pandemic is over, the situation is worse. I am contemplating relocating due to the inability to get timely medical care. The problem is with the management; the executives who make the decisions regarding resource allocation, not with the staff. read more

BSW seems to have some serious disclosure issues with MDs who are in network and facilities which are not. It's also impossible to find anyone to explain. I spoke to 5 reps on the phone trying to figure out if my insurance would work. Could not get any good confirmation or explanations. The MD I saw was great. The $210 charge was reasonable but turned out I was over-charged. The amount owed was $75 due to negotiated rate and insurance coverage. Now I'm seeing about $700 in facility charges with an out of network adjustment for about $300. The excess paid to MD was not applied. Later, a financial manager explained BSW is a medicare approved facility. Facility is considered "an outpatient hospital." She believed the billing/insurance situation is legit. Ok fine, but when I pressed her on BSW employees obtaining care with their coverage, she admitted married employees with kids will use the non BSW employee's coverage. The issue is really disclosure and customer relations so that no billing surprises occur. If you are on medicare, this could be a good place to go. Again, the MD was great. Looking at other comments, it seems these problems have existed for quite some time. If BSW management was tuned into their operations, perhaps those of us looking for providers could be properly informed before wasting everyone's time. Hopefully St. David's clinics are better run! UPDATED - spoke to billing rep about the approx $700 bill on-line. He basically said I should not have the bill as the balance is not owed (at this time). It was going to insurance still for review. Yet there was the bill! Bill was on a BSW website with a due date. He told me I needed to talk to their system contractor that put the bill there as he "didn't have control over them." I told him I've never heard of a billing entity not taking responsibility for on-line data with their name on it and suggested he escalate to mgmt. He wasn't interested. Terrible service. He did say the facility is in-network and I needed to wait for explanation of benefit from the payer. I can't get consistent information from BSW. If it turns out facility is in network, I'll update and raise the rating. read more

My wife and I have been going to Baylor Scott and White Doctors for several years now and we are very impressed and blessed with their professionalism, heart felt care and they way they communicate together. The scope of their care is almost 100% of what a person needs, at least that is our experience and we have over 15 different doctors between us as well. Our experience has been they stand on their heads to help you while working closely together and so far have fixed almost every health problem we have. Of course we just have to live with a few, but not many. We are 79 and 80 years old with many health problems so that is a huge compliment and praise coming from us. If you are looking for comprehensive senior care I would 100% recommend them. They aren't perfect, but sure are coming close as far as I am concerned read more

I'm forced to update this review yet again because I just got yet another bill from Scott & White for the same charge that they just eliminated last month. So, they charged me, then forgave the charge, now they have re-instated the charge AND are saying it's 60 days past due! This is ridiculous! There was no communication from them; they just sent me a bill in the mail. Very dishonest! I'm updating this due to the impressive response from Scott & White. After several calls and an executive review, they have removed most of the disputed charges. Original post: Scott & White lied to me about whether two different procedures were covered by insurance. They asked my insurance company if the procedures were covered, told me it was 100% covered, then they billed it under another code which was not covered. Now I'm faced with $2000 of expenses. Incompetent and disreputable billing practices, plus exorbitant and unethical charges, is why I am firing Baylor Scott White for my family. The "facility fee" this clinic charges is unlawful. Since 2015, federal law prohibits this fee for new outpatient clinics of a hospital. The Georgetown clinic was built in 2016. I paid several of those fees in 2016-2018. No more. I am in the process of contesting these improper charges with hospital management---not with the billing department--and demanding a refund. In addition, this clinic mis-coded no-cost Medicare visits, resulting in hours of my time and months to correct. Finally, the prices we paid for our daughter's school vaccines medicine were 3-5 times what a pharmacy would charge. read more

Very concerned with such high billing. Doctor visit for internist $322 with my out of pocket $190. Labwork, fairly basic urine and blood, my out of pocket is over $620! So a basic appointment and labwork out of pocket over $800!! I have good insurance so the negotiated rates lowered the overall but the bottom line is the out of pocket. Right? RIGHT??? I will shop around and see what can be done because I can not afford to see a doctor at this type of rate. My next appoiontments are now cancelled due to extreme costs (IMO) and that is just troublesome as I am 54 years old with history of malignant melanoma and heart/pressure issues. There is on easy way to find the contact BSW about an insurance claim they have filed incorrectly for the wrong person. The phone is worthless as no one will answer. The website does not provide any information. For months now I have looked and looked but refuse to wait more than 3 minutes for a real person to respond to my call. So, bottom line if BSW wants to get paid someday they might call me as my insurance is not paying them. Guess they don't care if they get paid or not. Maybe when I have some free time and nothing better to do I might try again to get this corrected. read more

I have mixed feelings on Scott & White. The good: some great doctors. Love mine. This clinic has it all, pharmacy, lab, no need to go elsewhere. Super convenient location. The bad: the reception staff does not seem to know how to operate phones. On occasion 1, I called to get blood test results when we hadn't heard back in a few days. The receptionist said she'd leave a message requesting the nurse call us back. In a few days more we got results in the mail. (So while the USPS takes its time getting a letter to you, you can just stew on the results of your lab tests because no one at Scott & White will use a phone.) TEN DAYS after we left a message, a nurse finally called me to see what I wanted. Good thing no one was sick, because we would have been a whole lot sicker by the time they returned a phone call! On occasion 2, they failed to give me my driver's license back from checking in. For days, I searched for it, thinking I'd lost it. No one from Scott & White called. Finally, I stopped in to see if it was there, and it was. They couldn't have called me to say they had it? They have my number on file! Learn to use the phones, please! read more

If you have anything beyond a sore throat, look elsewhere. 3yrs ago their podiatrist mis-diagnosed plantar fasciitis as a sore ankle joint...this eventually led to stress fractures and me needing surgery. Fast forward 2yrs and I tore ligaments in my foot. It took 2 months to have imaging done, and the first two weeks was down to two of the podiatrist being on vacation (husband and wife team...Hudson). Told me to follow up with my regular Dr. but his schedule was always slammed. He then quit so when I asked for a refill, they said I need to start with another Dr and be evaluated...it's been a ongoing issue, why's the burden on me? In other words, it all comes down to money with BS&W. I had intestinal issues years ago...same thing, difficult to navigate and get things done. They're too big for their britches and lost their sense of customer care. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I wish I could find a small independent but they're all being absorbed by the big operations who could give a toss. But if you don't mind paying endless co-pays and getting minimal results, BS&W may be your place of choice. read more

Dr. Berg is the only reason that we decided to use Scott & White. But we can't afford to see him because Scott & White are crooks. They do not explain to you when you come in for the visit that you will pay an additional $132 per visit. The charge is called a Clinic fee which means you pay to have a place to see the doctor. They really should give you some warning when you start seeing a doctor - let people know that even though you pay for medical insurance - your office visits with Scott & White will cost you your co-pay plus $132 clinic fee per visit. They don't tell you at the time of visit and then if you have a follow up appt or have another family member that needs to see the doctor then your bill is $300 before you know about these absolutely ridiculous fees. read more

Anyone contemplating using Scott and White should know that there are "facility" fees. On my last 10 minute dr. visit there was an automatic $144 fee on top of the usual doctor fee. Mental health counseling here is the same. A huge facility fee. This brings their bill to be much higher than other clinics in Georgetown. Have only made 3 visits. Have seen Dr. Suffridge and Dr. Hilts. No complaints. I like the ability to make same-day appointments and being able to access test results, prescription information, history of visits online as well as communicate with doctors online. Prescriptions are called in for you. I have the Scott and White insurance and costs have been reasonable. I have heard others having bad experiences with Scott & White mainly involving communication among care providers but they seem to be actively addressing these problems. read more
