I came to this urgent care because it was the closest to me. I sliced open my finger and it was a severely deep laceration. All that was done was a big glop of glue was put on my laceration and I was sent on my way. No X-rays or nothing. Let's also say that the tech that did my intake needs more training on how to properly clean a laceration. He poured the medicated liquid on my finger then immediately rinsed it with water and wiped it all away. When he left the room, I was still pulling gauze out of my wound from where I packed it at work. I do this for a living, so I know he was rushing putting my health at risk. Needless to say, I woke up the next morning with continuous bleeding, infected drainage and the inability to feel anything on that finger. I was rushed the the ER where they did X-rays and they saw bone damage. Then they had to clean it completely out and get the infection out which was PAINFUL to say the least, even with a local. I needed FIVE STITCHES, 3 of which had to go through my nail. Was told I will probably not regain any feeling in my finger and will lose my nail permanently. All of which could have been avoided if the proper steps were taken. My take from this urgent care, they take the quick and easy way out to get patients out of the door, even if it means causing detrimental and permanent damage to patients. read more

You call, you ask for help with a serious follow-up concern, and the incompetent person on the phone says they'll pass the info on to the "provider" (i.e. the doctor) and they DONT. You wait all day, and call again, and find out no one passed on anything to the doctor. You have to start all over again explaining everything, and then they now say, "you have to come back in." That, my friends, is fraud and malpractice. What say you? read more

This is the worst urgent care in town honestly, I've used the multiples times and everytime they lie and say there a long wait because there full of patients and you wait for an hour to 45mins and no one comes out and they can finally take you back, but there were just full? The doctors are all nice and friends and one of the front desk ladies if friendly expect one who acts like you're a trouble even being there. This is my local urgent care, and I wanted so much to find a partner to take care of my family, but we'll never go back. We brought my 4 yr old in with a minor eyebrow laceration, which in our estimation required a stitch or two. There was a little bit of blood, but nothing too serious - the only reason we sought treatment was that it was facial and we didn't want a jagged scar on the little princess. After an hour of waiting our turn (but not seeing anyone), we were sent away and told to go the hospital because they couldn't suture a 4 year old. Couldn't you have said that when we checked in? We were still billed $180 for her "treatment". Meanwhile, St. Davids got us in right away, had a well trained team to help calm her and reassure her, and placed a single stitch in her eyebrow. Their bill was $20 higher, but at least they treated her! So disappointed in FastMed - you are telling me you couldn't throw a single stitch? Or, that the wound wasn't small enough that some dermabond or a wound closure bandage wouldn't have done the trick? And thanks for the outrageous bill after literally not placing a single finger on my kid. If you truly don't treat pediatrics, TELL PEOPLE WHEN THEY WALK IN to save their time and money. Once again, I find myself angry that I even bothered to come here. With an appointment, I waited over 1.5 hrs past the appointment time. These people are rude, insensitive and have no concern for punctuality. Having walkins does not justify pushing appointments back. Those without should be turned away for those who have made previous arrangements. The level of patient care is ZERO. Timeliness ZERO. I hope this is a final reminder to myself and to all who read this to move on and find a better care provider. I assure you, you will leave with high blood pressure for the experience. read more

Dr. Fox was amazing yesterday!! Went in after being cut by a zebra mussel at Lake Georgetown. I needed 7 stitches and was really hard to numb. She was very professional, always smiling and didn't rush us at all. Mind you we kept her there well after business hours. From start to finish the experience was 5 star patient care. I arrived to the Georgetown location with a sick preschooler. There was no one in the lobby or on the wait list so I figured we would be in and out. After filling out the paperwork I sat with my grumpy kiddo for at least a half hour while two workers talked in laughed at the front desk before one of them came around the corner to get us back and take some vitals. Then we go back to a room where I sat for over an hour waiting for the doctor to come in. The motion sensor light turned off it took so long and I had to keep getting up with a sleeping four year old to try and get it back on. When the doctor finally did arrive he was pretty disorganized but at least he tried to get us out the door. I'm a hospital worker myself so I understand you cannot get to every patient as quickly as you would like but my son was THE ONLY PATIENT. For a clinic called fastmed you sure aren't fast. read more

I went in for a toothache, I called before I went in, said it would cost me 150.00 flat, the only reason I did this because it flared up on Friday evening and I couldn't handle it anymore, so when I went in she said if you have insurance it would be cheaper so 300.00 later. I will NEVER USE THIS PLACE AGAIN! And anyone that ask what I think about them, I'll tell them it's a racket. Besides I called corparate with my concern and she was just flat out RUDE, I'm a single mother makes 800.00 a month and lives on a budget that set me back for months, I'm so upset that people would trick you like that!! My family was in Texas over Easter this year and unfortunately, my son became very sick. Although the staff was kind, the front desk and billing procedures need work. As we live out of state and I have been in the medical billing field for over 20 years, I knew our visit would be applied to the deductible and provided my HSA card at the time of service for the bill to be paid in full. When I received my 1 and ONLY invoice, I returned it with the HSA information and asked again for the card to be run in full. To my surprise, I received a call from a collection agency. When patient's offer to pay not just once but twice and your staff does not run the credit card or follow up if they had issues, it is very bad business. The collection agency refused to open a case back with your office and is requesting over $40 more than the original bill (which should have been taken care of at the time of service)! This should never have been sent to collections and I ended up paying IN FULL $180 directly to the provider on 8/8/18. The provider is still not showing payment received on my account and the collection agency is calling me several times a day EVERY DAY. I told them again today to take it up with the provider and they still show no payment. As a member of the field, and a former customer, I am very disappointed with the billing department. Please make efforts to ensure when a patient tries to pay, your staff completes the transactions. It is costing your company much more to collect after the time of service and you are losing business. We travel to Texas regularly and will not be returning to this facility. read more

We use to love this location but not anymore. There's a new doctor here and she just can't manage time at all compared to the old doctor. This was my go to when we didn't want to drive all the way to the pediatrician but the past three times we've come we have had to wait over an hour in the room. Absolutely ridiculous! My daughter feels horrible and here we are just waiting for an hour and 20 min and they just keep coming in saying the doctor is busy. There's only one other person here. I cannot express how grateful I am for this urgent care & the incredible staff members who work there. Yesterday morning my 17mo old daughter caught her cousin's virus bug & grew very, very sick. After calling 911 that morning, I made her an appointment, or checked her in online, at this urgent care. When we got there she had a very high fever & the PA Megan & the nurses ran several tests to determine the cause & were very gentle and patient with my daughter. She ended up having a seizure while we were there and they dropped everything to assist her & were very calm. During the whole event we had nurses checking on myself & my mother which was so nice. Megan explained that it was most likely a febrile seizure & what that meant. She held my baby throughout the whole thing until paramedics arrived & continued to make sure she was not over stepping by holding her. I felt way more comfortable with my baby being in her arms. They were all so kind, knowledgeable, professional, & unlike any other urgent care I've ever been to. They even called later that night to check up. Thank you so much to Megan, Laura, & Hannah for taking care of my baby girl & doing such a great job. read more

This is my 4 visIt through work in 3 weeks! They don't have appropriate staff for front desk. Only 3 patients have been brought seen in 1 1/2 hours. Be careful who the Dr. is before you come in. I don't have a primary care Dr. as I don't get sick very often. I have been here several times before with good experiences. I have flu-like symptoms with a terrible cough, the cough being the reason for my visit. I was seen by Caryn Mosier PA-C. She listened to my lungs with a stethoscope - OVER my boyfriend's thick sweatshirt. I thought it was strange at the time, as she swore my lungs were clear, but wondered how she could even tell with using the stethoscope over the thick sweatshirt. Seems pretty careless to glaze over the primary reason of my visit like that. I've been coughing all night and this morning and have concerns. I called them back to speak to the Dr. that was in today about these concerns, and was told I would need to come in again.. and spend another $180 (I have a high deductible and that's the cost out of pocket per visit). I had a good experience at FastMed. I checked in online to reserve a spot. When I arrived I immediately filled out paperwork and was called back to the exam room. Dr. Patel was very nice and knowledgeable. The whole process was less than an hour, which is amazing for urgent care. I highly recommend this business. I'll be back if needed. read more

Terrible. Online scheduling is completely bogus. Scheduled a 10:05am appointment for my daughter yesterday.....is is now 10:40 and still sitting in the lobby. Their "iPad" check in process is maddening. Watched a poor elderly gentleman (who is obviously quite ill) struggle with it for a 1/2 hour.....the receptionist did absolutely nothing to help. Affordable, friendly and quick on a Sunday. However, they prescribed the wrong (too small) dosage of antibiotics for my 7 YO son. I didn't see Dr. Patel, which was probably the root of my problem with the service. For some reason, I thought to look it up the next day, called his pediatrician and confirmed it was too little. I called the clinic back and Dr. Patel did review the dosage, agree it was too small and sent a new prescription to the pharmacy. But how many parents would know to check this???!! My son has flu and strep throat and needed the antibiotic to take effect ASAP. Very disappointed they couldn't get such an important, simple, matter correct. read more

If we could give zeros stars we would. I went to fast med with my daughter to get a quick in and out COVID test with a 3 o'clock appointment. We got there right at 3 and sat in a practically empty waiting room for just under an hour before finally getting into an exam room. Once in the room, we waited for another 30 minutes before deciding to ask someone how much longer it would be. It seemed as if they had forgotten about us, because they came in shortly after. They swabbed my daughter and told us we would get a call in 15 minutes with our results. We headed out and waited for the call. About 30 minutes after waiting for our call, we decided to call them. We were put on hold for around 30 minutes before giving up and decided to let them call us. A little while after we got the call but barley missed it. They left a voicemail telling me to call them back, so that's exactly what I did, not even a minute after the missed call. Not to mention they called my minor daughter, not me. I proceeded to call them back, but I was continuously put on hold. It's been about 3 hours since the test, and we still don't know her results. Disappointed to say the least. HIGHLY don't recommend. read more

We are still new to the Georgetown area and haven't set up a regular primary care physician. While moving I ended up with excruciating pain in my left hip. It was debilitating and was starting to cause a plethora of problems that if left untreated would have caused a myriad of problems in our household. FastMed was a choice made out of desperation and we couldn't have been more pleased. Dr. Patel was thorough and professional in his assessment of my issue utilizing his skill, training, and technology available to him. They took digital x-rays to determine that there was no fracture or damage to the joint. While he recommended an orthopedic doctor to provide treatment, he did consent to administer treatment that he claimed he wasn't a specialist in. Being in so much pain, I asked him to administer treatment because continuing in the amount of pain I was in was not an option my family or I could afford. Dr. Patel has an excellent manner about him that ensured my confidence. For affordable healthcare issues, I have found the right place and am confident in recommending FastMed. read more

They are also the only urgent care around here that keeps your credit card on hold for 90 days to charge any additional charges BEFORE you even receive the bill to dispute any of these said charges. The only positive to this experience is that we didn't have to wait long to be told what I already know.. increase fluids, rest, good hand hygiene blah blah. My child was crying from feeling so rotten and had swollen tonsils, swollen lymph nodes, a headache, sore throat and body aches. It's flu season and her friend that she rides to and from school with everyday was recently positive for the flu. I brought her in to be swabbed for strep and flu, which I mentioned at check in because she didn't have a fever and I wanted to know if she needed to be treated with antibiotics or if she had the flu or just a common cold/virus. After being triaged and roomed, I was told they didn't have a flu test. I mentioned at that time that I had brought her in to be swabbed because of the fore mentioned symptoms. She's swabbed for strep, then Dr. Patel comes in and defends not having flu tests by saying you can have tamiflu with flu like symptoms whether you are positive or negative. Okay, I get that, but that's a $90 medication that could be completely unnecessary. Then he says her strep test is negative so just treat symptoms at home. What a waste of both my time and money. Not that I would ever wish the flu on my kid, but I was trying to be responsible and make sure she doesn't have it so I keep her home from school and not risk exposure to other kids. She never had a fever and I know lots of children who are presenting with the same symptoms and don't develop a fever for a few days. At that point, tamiflu would have been worthless anyway. My annoyance is that I wasn't told there were no flu tests at check in so that I could have made an educated decision about whether or not to have her seen, take her somewhere else, or take her home. He ended up giving me a Rx for a zpack to use in the event that her symptoms worsened just so I didn't leave empty handed and then asks what I do for a living because I was still in my scrubs from work that day. I am not ignorant or pretending that as a nurse I'm more educated than a physician. I never implied that. I just didn't agree with his rationale on the flu tests being unnecessary and would have simply taken my daughter to another establishment had I known. My mother who lives with is also undergoing chemotherapy and is immunocompromised. It is imperative that someone like her does not get the flu. Tamiflu, prophylactically, for my mom would have been needed if my daughter is in fact positive. It makes more sense to pay for a ~25 dollar flu test than for tamiflu unnecessarily at approx. 90 bucks per person. This facility was clearly just in dire straights to leave tonight. As I was leaving there was a lady attempting to go into the clinic at 8:30. However, the doors were locked and the lights were off when the sign on the door clearly says they close at 9pm. I am frustrated that I wasted money on this visit and I promise I could have been doing something more productive with my time one week from Christmas, when I also have to be back at work at 4:30 in the morning. read more

We had a great experience at FastMed Urgent Care when my husband became very ill over the weekend. First, I recommend that you check in online -- we were able to do so and were seen promptly upon our arrival at the clinic at the designated time. Ambrosia was very professional and welcoming at the front desk. She went above and beyond to make sure my husband could be treated (for the diagnosis we suspected) and even provided a blanket to make sure he was comfortable. I am not quite sure of the spelling of the nurse's name (Lucius, I think) -- she quickly screened my husband for the doctor and was very thorough and professional in her demeanor. Dr. Patel saw us soon after and was courteous, professional, and efficient. He answered all of our questions in detail and walked us thru after care step by step. We will return to FastMed without hesitation when the situation requires and will not hesitate to recommend the facility to family and friends. read more

I've had the occasion to use FastMed Urgent Care about four times, and each time I felt lucky to have them in Georgetown.  I've always been greeted by someone friendly & helpful when I walk in.  The treatment I've received from the doctors or PAs has been terrific.  Whoever does the hiring for people who greet patients at the front desk must have a talent for choosing the right person for this important job.  Even something minor can be a little stressful, and the front desk person is unfailingly helpful, and I've felt more at ease after checking in.  I had trouble using their iPAD to check in, because it doesn't work like my iPAD. Had to tell the person at the desk that I couldn't get the camera to work, and she wasn't irritated at all. I was tapping the screen to turn the camera around, when you are supposed to actually turn the iPAD around, so it doesn't work like my iPAD. I can see that seniors would have trouble, even if they do have computer experience. read more
