NO doctors here... just a nurse practitioner who thinks she knows the system well enough to do as she pleases.... Leoa talks like she's eating muscle relaxers for breakfast and looks like a retired roughneck who picked up nursing after a failed career of riding shotgun to real do tors.... Anyways... I did what I am supposed to do, called to find an urgent care in network... Boom... this place showed up as an option... kinda far from me but I made the journey because I called first and they said they had X-rays and a tech on duty.. I get here the X-ray tech doesn't do spinal X-rays... and the NP says X-rays are outdated and to get a CAT scan... that's right... so my insurance will get billed for zero treatment... Long story short... this place is a clown show.. These guys are playing doctor and severely limited by their subpar knowledge and motivation and general team dynamic... I guess these guys are good for jaw cramps and cold sores... What could they improve: 1) doctor should have a meeting at beginning of shift, include the front desk and review what care is available... that way when people call they get the answers they need to find a different place... 2) don't talk down to patients because you can't provide basic care... it's condescending and unprofessional... 3) don't tell the patient "don't slip" on the way out the door while your under qualified x-ray tech giggles... 4) empathize and be compassionate... Little does Leoa know some of us have medical training and can have an intelligent conversation when it comes to self care... I got a referral... they will bill my insurance undoubtedly... therefore I paid for my story!! Skip Taylor urgent care and just got to pfluggerville.... Or round rock... She is a top rate doctor -- she takes time to talk with you, not just to you. She listens to recommendations and she offers insight and alternate options if one option is not working as well as thought. And not just Patricia -- but Cindy at the front desk is amazing, kind and friendly and Kimberly, the nurse, is always so kind. If you need care and do not mind getting to Taylor -- this is the answer you have been looking for when trying to find psychiatrist as well as counseling in the same building. I can't even describe the way we were taken care of I mean down to the insurance verification agent... Nothing but kindness, understanding the pain he was in.. Our nurse in the room was excellent and funny. Felt like family. The technician that took his scans was great!!! The Doc I personally have to say was on point, my BF explained and he quickly said It sounds like so and so and he was right!!!!!!!!!!!! (Loved the fact that he was in pink scrubs, than another ER Doc passed by and I seen he was in all orange!!! Anyways that's besides the point lol. So I contacted a well-known clinic in Round Rock. Mainly because this clinic had a large number of physicians available. Practicing general and specific areas of medicine. A turning point away from this clinic came in 2012 when I became extremely ill while on vacation in Hawaii. So sick, that I had to make an emergency room visit, via ambulance, to a local hospital near Kona. The emergency room physician made an initial diagnosis (Pneumonia & Costocondritus) and recommended I return home to follow up with my "General Practice" physician in Round Rock. While en-route home, about a nine hour trip, my wife made an appointment with my "personal" physician in Round Rock. Supplying him with the "initial" diagnosis from the emergency room physician in Hawaii and a contact number should he want "clinical notes.". Upon arrival at the clinic he took one look at me, no examination , and asked "why I was there and not in the hospital." Hardly an empathetic response from a physician I had been seeing by for over 6 years. So enter Dr. Joseph Hermosa, a "general practice physician" with expertise in internal medicine. Dr. Hermosa has treated me since 2006. Tracking issues involving nephritis, hypertension, hyperglycemia and reviewing blood chemistry on a regular basis. All of this, and performing physical examinations on a quarterly basis. Of possible interest to geriatrics like myself, is the fact that he makes "house" calls. Which means you do not have to travel to an office potentially sharing a waiting room with sick or contagious patients. Dr Joseph Hermosa, is a kind, empathetic, and accessible physician. I cannot over-emphasize these qualities. Between scheduled appointments, I have contacted Dr. Joseph Hermosa via email , to get his input on various issues that are important to me. Such as the scorpion sting that refuses to heal. In addition, during June of 2018 I was hospitalized for hip surgery; a "Revision." Dr. Hermosa showed up at my bedside even though he was not involved in the surgery. I was so surprised all I could say was ; "How did you know I was here?" With a smile he responded, "I have my contacts." I'm not certain if Dr Hermosa is accepting new patients.
