    Disgusting dark stained carpets
    Andrea L.

The check in attendant was delightful, but the hotel was absolutely disgusting. It didn't look anything like the photos advertised on hotel tonight! Very disappointed. The place smelled horrible, dark stains were all over the carpets, The first room we checked was on the first floor, in to had rancid smell and stains in the bathroom and on the carpets. The second room was on the second floor and it smelled even worse than the first floor, the second room had a faint stench and the toilet was terrible. By that point we had already decided we weren't staying another second. Absolutely the worst place I've ever almost stayed at. I'd give it a 0 if I could

I am or I was a faithful customer until this 5 day stay.. I rented this room while visiting my 21 month old grand daughter and I'm so disappointed and livid on how bad this hotel has gone down hill since I've started coming here since 2020. This is my 5th time having long stays here.. I choose this motel because it used to be clean...upon arrival I notice the pool was open but looked dark green. I rented for the use of the pool with my 21 month old grand daughter. I rented a jacuzzi room for the in room hot tube due to 2 herniated disc's in my back. Pool is disgusting jacuzzi jets barely work. Issues were reported to front desk and nothing about the pool was done nor was anything suggested to be done about the jacuzzi. On top of that jacuzzi had to be cleaned by me before use due to someone else's pubic hairs on bottom of rub along with soap scum around the edges. I can live with the jacuzzi atleast it's a large hot bath to soak in for pain relief. But the pool is just unexceptable. Ive been here 4 days wad going to stay 6 days but decided to cancel and head back to North Dakota early due to not being able to use the pool.. what's the point sucks that I paid good money for amenities that are un safe to use meaning the pool. I honestly feel you should refund me part of my money for not being able to use the pool... I also didn't realize when I got a balcony room that it didn't go out side like I thought it would instead it gave me a view of a slim green pool view. Loads of trash under stairs. Requested to speak with management Scarlett but funny how she was not available any or the 6 days I was there. Disgusting common areas will not stay again. Excuse was new owners.

The disgusting, dirty wall in our room.

This place actually only deserves one star but I will I explain why it gets two at the end. I was expecting a whole lot more from a place that is owned by Wyndham. I can't say much for the staff because apart from check-in, we did not really interact with anyone. The free breakfast was kind of lame. I was there for six nights and got sick and tired of Belgian waffles. They also need to put out larger coffee cups because the tiny ones they have just don't cut it. I am not expecting venti sized cups, but come on! The room: oh, where do I begin? Like most people, I like staying in expensive hotels. I mean, who doesn't? However, I am perfectly capable of staying in more budget friendly hotels and enjoy my stay just as much (check out my review for the Residence Inn in Auburn Hills, MI). Anyway, also like most people, I expect a hotel to be relatively well kept and most of all CLEAN. This place was neither of those things. I can get past the outdated décor, but not past how shabby it was. Peeling wallpaper, chipped furniture, holes in the bathroom linoleum, cigarette burns on the edge of the tub. As for the cleanliness: this place gave me the willies. I attached pictures of the disgusting dirty wall in our room and the nasty recliner. Ugh. I had to get an extra sheet from housekeeping to throw over it so I could actually sit on it. Also, they seriously need to invest in some new pillows. Like NOW! The pillows were old, lumpy, misshapen things that were barely larger than your average throw pillow. They were insanely uncomfortable. Let's just say that these are the kinds of pillows I would expect to find in a hotel where you don't expect to spend the night and leave it at that. I have slept on hospital pillows that were more comfortable. I went onto Facebook and messaged Baymont on our first or second night to mention these things to them and they did actually respond. They told us that each location is independently owned and operated. Well, Baymont needs to revoke the owners franchise because they are not operating this place well at all. So about the number of stars: 1 star: for the location. We have a sick family member in Howell and this was cheap and convenient. 1 star: because after following up with Baymont via Facebook after our return home, the corporate office must have contacted the property and they refunded us two nights out of the six we stayed. So the extra star is for customer service alone. There aren't very many hotel options in Howell and these guys really need to step up their game. Big time!

    I think someone forgot something.

We were "upgraded" to a king, jacuzzi suite. It felt really trashy. Not at all our style. Like the walls are all mirrors. It was uncomfortable. But the bed was super comfortable. My fiancé and I slept pretty well. But we were in the bottom floor in one of the rooms closed to the main area and "breakfast" room. We heard EVERYTHING. Like I had thicker walls in my college apartment. But we could deal with the tacky room and the noise. It was the general uncleanliness and the "continental breakfast" that really were just it for us. We were pretty much done after that point. Don't advertise you have breakfast if you literally don't. We would have still stayed, but it just would have helped our plans better had they been honest. My fiancé tried to make a waffle, but the waffle makers didn't work. They have only 1 of their cereals filled, one yogurt, one "hard boiled egg" (sitting in water, disgusting), and some stale bread. Not even any fruit or soy milk. I was amazed. My fiancé and I have traveled a lot. Few things surprise us anymore, but this felt unreal. The lack of customer service, presentation and professionalism felt like some kind of April Fools joke. Also. Everything was out of order. Literally everything. The side door by our room had an "out of order" sign on it. So they just left it open all night. Now big deal. I am sure that isn't a security risk at all. Why would you not want random people walking in and out of your hotel? The vending machines were out of order. They have labels on almost everything in our room that said, "does not work". Classy. Finally. The stains on the wall. That is what I fell asleep looking at. I kept trying to figure out how stains like that even got on the wall. Was the ceiling leaking? Did the walls allow moisture in? Did someone relive them selves up the wall? It's a mystery.

    Ants in room

We stayed at the Howell location on New Year's Eve. We had the king suite with the whirlpool tub in the room. When we arrived we unpacked and went to the pool. The pool had a broken light laying out so we told our kids to stay away from it and we went swimming. The pool was ice cold and not taken care of. We talked to the front desk she said it was 85 degrees and it's just the windows that made it feel cold then we got accused of breaking the light that was laying out. We assumed they knew so we didn't say anything our mistake. We should of said something because she had called her manager and we were not paying for something we did not do. The kids were too cold to swim in the pool anyway so we left and grabbed some pizza and planned to use the hot tub the rest of the night in the room. We put an empty pizza box next to the garbage can on the floor then used the hot tub. While the kids were in the hot tub I noticed ants in the bed by my 6 month old so we checked it to make sure the bed was safe when the kids said ants were on the pizza box. Not just a few ants! The carpet looked like it was moving there was hundreds on ants. The room was completely infested with ants it's was very disgusting. I went to the front desk and the woman said she didn't know what to do with ants at 10:00 at night and was waiting to hear from her manager. She seemed to be the only one working in the whole hotel. She was doing the laundry, front desk and maintaining the pool. We had her come down to our room to see how serious it was. She said she could switch our rooms but we wouldn't have a hot tub. We decided we would just head home after feeling so dirty from being there for just a few hours. We did not end up staying the night and we got a full refund. We do not recommend this hotel and will not be staying here again.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Breakfast was a disgusting joke waffle iron out of order ok machine out of order yogurt out of date milk warm etc. Pool was a dull shade of green hot tub did not work (she told me they were just working on it but I see from a previous reviewer it's been broken at least 7 months. Word of warning stay away

I have stayed at this hotel three or four times and boy has it really gone down downhill I had been up for 20 hours and was extremely exhausted and as I was checking the room and out in the hallway, you could see all the dust and dirt along the baseboards behind the bed and the nightstand there was candy, wrappers dirt, and some little worm on one of the beds. There was a chunk taken out of it. I looked up at the smoke alarm and it was covered with Something. The floors had all stains on them. This was room 314. I always travel with Lysol and Lysol wipes so I can clean myself. The bedding looked very old and because it was graduation weekend I had to pay more than normal, which is an outrage. I had to get up very early in the morning. There was no breakfast yet. I will definitely not be back to this hotel. I know there are better ones and will find one. The owner and manager ought to be ashamed of themselves. Maybe they need to go up and take a look at what's being done in the rooms and in the hallways the hotel needs to be updated once you get past the lobby it's like stepping back in the Victorian days, save yourself some time and find something different

We turned the A/C unit to 60 and high fan and left for dinner. Not much had changed when we came back. Humidity is still high and the scent of an old very used vacuum cleaner bag is very much present. We are very tired and do not want to hassle with a change so I sprayed some of my very expensive Fern organic perfume to be blown to the room by the fan. Not much better. Oh, I realized, when walking bare feet, that the carpet feels wet. Yikes! Sentiment Argh!!! Will not stay here again

We have had several issues related to appliances not working properly (ie: tv, refrigerator and air conditioner). This past stay they knowingly put us in a room, that had a non-working air-conditioning unit. The general manager (Lavet Diamond) was nothing short of rude during our check in process. My fiancé ( whom is a vet ) had asked there was a discount for Veterans. He had asked several times what the discount would be ( if any) and she refused to answer the question. She gave us what the bottom line was on the room.. so it seemed a little suspect as to if we were even getting a discount or not. I don't think we did as this is the price we have paid in the past. Another disappointment was finding out that they now charge a five dollar parking fee per vehicle... Instead of putting it into the actual price of the room, they told us that upon departure that we needed to pay this five dollar fee if we were going to park our cars in the lot ( this was blamed on corporate per Lavet) r/t a new corporate policy . Otherwise, our other option would be to park next door at Arby's. I do want to give a shout out to Bobby Brossoit he was very polite and professional. Congratulations on your engagement... As he was going to be proposing to his girlfriend this weekend.
