For $59 a night, you get what I would basically call a "crash pad". This isn't where you stay if you want fancy accommodations, it's where you stay if you want a place to sleep after hanging out in the city all day. It was perfect for my "retro motel" photo shoot, so I really liked the fact that everything was a bit out of date. The room itself is a little dated. The TV is old and the comforter and curtains look like they were purchased in the late 70's. The bathroom leaves a lot to be desired and probably isn't cleaned regularly. There's an ice machine and a cold drink machine outside. I will say that the room itself looked to be clean. The bed was clean and nothing out of the ordinary or disgusting jumped out at me. It's probably one of the better "cheap" Westbank motels, if you just need a place to sleep. The area seems pretty safe and I didn't see anyone questionable lurking around.

The staff at the hotel quickly took care of changing our reservation without any issues. Having the beds on separated floors made it nice for having 4 adults in one room. The spiral staircase took a little getting used to, since I hadn't been on one since I was like 5... it all worked out! We slept well - not sure if it was because of the long drive or if the beds were just that comfy. :) The room included amply counter space near the bathroom sink. Also, near the sink were the mini refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. We didn't expect much for breakfast, but we were happy with their selection. We enjoyed english muffins, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, coffee and orange juice. Enough to get us started for the day! Parking is in a secure flat lot with security at the entrance all night long. We parked our vehicle here for two nights and did not have any issues. The security guy had quite the sense of humor as well. :) Parking is included -- that is unheard of for most hotels around New Orleans! This hotel is one block away from the St. Charles Street Car, which will take you right to Bourbon Street - so convenient. There are also quite a few restaurants and bars located around the hotel. We never felt unsafe walking around this part of town (the Garden District). Can't wait to come back!!

Despite the wedding being rescheduled several times due to COVID-19 and weather calamities, they were able to honor the reservation. The property is in a good location, away from the craziness of the French Quarter. The French Quarter is easily accessible by a streetcar line (St. Charles & Melpomene stop) and two bus stops (O.C. Haley & M.L. King and Camp & Terpsichore). Parking is available in a fenced lot, and there is a security guard on duty. Checking-in is easy as they had my reservation on file and the front desk staff was very friendly. My room was a Charming Old World Standard. It is a relatively small room, and can accommodate two people. There are no elevators at this facility so accessibility may be a challenge for those who need it. The room is furnished with a full-sized bed, wardrobe closet, end table, chest of drawers, and work desk. The furnishings are jaded but still in serviceable condition. Air conditioning seems to be controlled by the front desk and there is a ceiling fan in the room. There is an LCD TV but the cable box is dangling and only supported by the wiring. The room also has a coffee maker with Community Coffee available, a microwave oven, and a clothes iron with board. Reliable WiFi is available throughout the facility. The bathroom is rather small with a shower stall, but is clean and has plenty of towels and toiletries. Housekeeping was available after my first evening but they did not do my room after the second night--which was Easter Sunday so they may not have that service available on holidays. There is a basic continental breakfast setup available each morning at 7:00 am. Basic is the key word here--don't expect a gourmet breakfast but something just to kickstart your morning. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the Prytania Park Hotel, and it will certainly be a place I would go back to the next time I am in New Orleans!

Dana (?) spoke about getting ready to start upgrading things around there but I think it's going in the wrong direction. You will lose the charm and experience of staying in a real New Orleans home. You don't need glass showers. You need a bucket of soapy water. Upon arrival, we noticed old ice cream still waiting in the freezer. There were burnt out light bulbs and dried, dead bugs on the microwave. I noticed past reviews stated that they were welcomed to a stocked fridge of milk and orange juice. We didn't even have coffee filters. We had to buy our own coffee, sugar, and milk. There was a cheese grater, but no bottle opener. A lot of drawers were stuffed with plastic grocery bags but we couldn't find any kitchen trash bags in order to empty the overflowing trash cans. There was a cabinet full of paint cans and other maintenance junk which was a turn off. The dog barking at 5/6 in the morning right outside our room was a real bummer. We enjoyed the clean towels but the place was overall dirty. We loved having the croissants delivered to us in the morning. They were delicious! You can't beat the location. A few blocks from Bourbon, straight shot to Cafe du Monde, and Armstrong Park right outside the window. With the rise of AirBNB, now is not the time to let things slack. You aren't just in competition with the hotels anymore. You have an amazing property and it was so sad to see the condition of it after only a few years. Appreciate what you have and fix it. Unfortunately, I won't be back to see if that happens.

As with all things in this section of New Orleans, the house is old and has many quirks. The floor was not level, many years of foundation settling obviously. Know in advance, if you drive in it's not easy to find this location. Also, there's no parking for your vehicle. You will be forced to find street parking, which is in a limited supply, or pay to park in a lot. The house is located fairly close to the corner of St. Ann and Rampart, and being close to Bourbon there is traffic/street noise. Overall, we were happy with our stay, but it was not exactly what we expected.

The only issue was that the air conditioning kept cutting off throughout the night and the room would immediately get hot. Not sure what was going on. Had to get up several times to turn it bank on. Which sucked because I found the bed to be quite comfy and didn't vent to get up. The hotel also offered what they called a "Kickback" each night to guests. This was described as food and drinks for guests. Each guest in your room got a ticket for entry. We had other plans and didn't make it, but it sounded like a really nice thing to offer. We did make it to the included breakfast the next morning, and it was delicious! The food was replenished frequently on the good bars, fresh and hot. Lots of options were available. There is a rooftop pool and hot tub, with great views and a gym off of the pool which also has good views. The gym can be accessed 24 hours. Despite being old, the hotel is very clean and impressive, and the staff works hard to make the stay hospitable. I was also very happy to see them providing 2 bottles of water per night (I'm Diamond for reference so not sure of the criteria), which really helped considering the constant 90+ degree weather (also I'm a kidney donor so dehydration is a huge concern and danger to me when I'm traveling). One funny thing was I didn't get a Do Not Disturb sign, but no matter. After my first night, housekeeping also left some bathrobes and a piece of mint chocolate on each nightstand, which was a cute touch. I was impressed by the hotel's restaurant called the Fountain Lounge. While I didn't see a fountain, I enjoyed eating here daily, whether it was for breakfast, lunch, Chef's Happy Hour, or dinner. While hotel restaurant these days seem to have a bad rep for being both overpriced and boring, the dishes here were both a delight and competitive compared to a lot of quality sit-down restaurants nearby. It was good to see, as Waldorf Astoria was the brand that made eating out fashionable in the first place back before any of us were born. To set expectations, I don't expect perfection in this day and age as long as the basics are done right, and I even ran across some issues. But the staff were very willing to reasonably fix things so I can leave with a good experience, such as the front desk staff that fixed a check-in/credit issue, and a big shout-out to Ari, the F&B Manager who made my day on an unusually unlucky day for me. Next time I return, I do want to try more of their cocktails as they had many interesting ones. Sadly I started getting a fit of allergies, which may be related to the shampoo. They use Aesop products, which are high quality, but personally I find the fragrance strong and the shampoo seem to have some tree oil that makes my nose very unhappy. I may have to remember to bring my own shampoo next time, which is really unfortunately, but is no fault of the hotel. They do have valet parking, but sadly no EV charging. There are also many parking garages nearby for an extended stay if you don't mind carrying all your bags to and from the hotel. It is a full service hotel however, so count on that if you need a hand! The location is good as well, as it sits right on the border of the French Quarter near Canal St, meaning you'll probably be able to get better sleep than being right in it, but it's also right next to public transit and a very short walk away from Bourbon St. I felt safe and comfortable during my stay. They also have an outdoor "rooftop" pool (I believe it was the 4th floor) with a bar. Impressive that this hotel has 3 bars, including the hotel. I didn't see a gym, but they seemed to have spa service if you're big on that. Definitely my hotel of choice when I visit NOLA again!

The shower with the pressure jets and the overhead shower was something we never experienced before. The room and the service and the attentiveness to every little detail was crazy impressive. They reorganized our tooth brushes and tooth paste. They put a little cup on our counter with the water bottles. The bathrobes inside the closet. Was out of this world amazing. The amenities included the pool, a gym, several restaurants, and beautiful decor throughout the entire hotel. Alexis our concierge and desk agent was superb. Lastly, this was close to everything in the French quarters so it's super convenient. Can't wait to come back again!
