I give this hotel 2 stars because the staff was friendly and tried to be helpful. We had a bed and a working bathroom. I checked in via the website to make our super late arrival more efficient. None of the information I provided was input so we did the whole thing upon arrival anyway. Lastly, we were in town for college tour and chose a hotel with a pool so the younger sibling could swim and have something to do. The pool was closed until noon and late check out was 11:30. This was a Thursday so the previous review that said the pool didn't open until noon on Sundays was correct but they don't open until noon on other days also. super disappointing. read more

I booked online through Hotels.com When I arrived they were not pet friendly. The front desk girl was eating and on a personal zoom call. When I asked about pets she was nice and said she would cancel my room no charge. Sent my reviews to hotels.com and wasn't happy and the next morning the hotel started calling and harassing me. Would never recommend. The person yelled at me saying I had to change my review because I had not stayed there. I had thought the review went to hotels.com and had specifically stated they misrepresented on the site. When the hotel called yelling at me I definitely will not be changing any review. read more

The customer service, especially by an afternoon clerk named Candy, is what makes this hotel worth checking out. Plus it's pet-friendly without the exorbitant fees charged by Marriott and others. The downside is it's not a premium hotel (think plastic cups instead of glassware in the rooms) and it doesn't have an elevator, which might make the second floor unattractive to some folks. I shlepped all my stuff up to second floor and was glad I did because the room was exceedingly quiet. Beds are great, it was very clean, and I slept great. Horrible experience, drove 3 hours to get here finally got to our hotel at 9:00pm. Says online that it is pet friendly, and on google. It is not pet friendly asked to please accommodate us for one night since we had no where to go. Told us to leave the dog in the car or for all of us to sleep in the car. The young woman at the front desk had a horrible attitude. And was extremely rude when we asked for her suggestion. Also told us we were not aloud a refund. Do not suggest to absolutely anyone. I would hope that no one ever gets put in this horrible of a situation. read more

They are pet friendly. BUT, hairs is shower and the tub spout w shower diverter shot off the copper n hit me in the leg. Really ? Paint is peeling off the walls. Kids in the pool till 10 PM, no adult time in pool. No elevator to upper floors. Receptionist is blaring Indian news at her computer n not even watching it. DISAPPOINTED. read more

Would have given a worse star rating if at all possible. The staff was extremely rude and when we booked this hotel we were told it was pet friendly and allowed pets. It was solely booked because it was stated that it was pet friendly and accepted. Stayed 2 nights with my pet and when going back to our room on the 3rd day to be locked out and the rude person at the front desk stated we had been charged an additional 50.00 and told my dog wasnt allowed back on the property. I travel all over the country and stay in multiple hotels and i've had a few bad experiences but this takes the award for worst service. I DO NOT RECOMMENED THIS HOTEL to anyone coming to Springfield and especially to my fellow horsemen that are here showing at the Champions Center while here. Absolutely HORRIBLE HOTEL! DO NOT STAY HERE! The help is rude and unhelpful! We booked for 3 nights and left after one night! The furniture is falling apart, the toilet would not flush just after a pee, there's no water pressure in shower and bathtub does not drain! Mold in corner of bathroom! The furniture is all beat up and broken. We paid and were told we were getting a double room with 2 queen size beds and then after a long drive and arriving at 1:30am we came into a rude clerk and our room was 2 full size beds. We booked a non smoking room and our room smells so bad of cigarettes it's stuck in our clothes and luggage. They refused to refund us or accommodate the issues and walked out on us! And the hotel is 500 degrees when you walk in and get to your room! Most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at! I called corporate and emailed picture proof and was told by corporate company that I the customer am lieing! MOST awful customer service I have ever had! Please share this infomrmation and spread the word! I will be taking all my emails from this AWFUL company and share how they treated me along with my pictures of my room !!!! read more

This hotel has been completely renovated and the room was wonderful. The staff was very friendly as well. The only disappointment was that there is no elevator - so if you are on the 2nd floor, be prepared to use stairs. Very well kept and super friendly staff. The room and bathroom were very clean. A couple of minor complaints: the walls are pretty thin. We could hear the TV in the room next to us quite clearly. We called the front desk and they came down, but I could hear them talking in the next room clear as day, so I knew it wasn't an excessively loud TV, just thin walls. The TV doesn't swivel at all on the wall, which makes it hard to watch from the second bed, and there were tons of wires hanging out underneath the TV. Nothing too major, but that's why I didn't give them five stars. Very clean and feels safe. We didn't use the pool so I can't speak to that. read more

Serviceable basic accommodation. Fair for the price because the room was very clean. The common areas show signs of wear and maintenance deficiencies, and the hotel is in somewhat of a questionable area. We were approached a few times by panhandlers. All of the locks on the door to the room were solid and in good working order, as was the in room safe. Bring everything you need for your stay as there are really no extra accommodations available. It looked like they had a staff of just one at night at the main desk so don't expect help or items you may have forgotten to be brought to your room. The cable service had a weak signal and went in and out to the point that it was unwatchable. BUT... the housekeeping staff is doing things right. If you don't plan on being at the hotel a lot, and your just looking for someplace clean with working heat and air where you can lock the door, sleep in peace, and not spend hundreds of dollars a night, this place gets the job done. read more

I just stayed here Feb 13-15 2018. My husband and I usually stay in Days Inns and are Wyndham rewards gold members, so staying at a Baymont, we expect a little more. However, this Baymont was a little disappointing. First the good news: Surpisingly clean rooms, nice pool, nice breakfast selection (waffles and hard boiled eggs along with continental items). Cons: Water pressure in shower was WAY too low, RUDE front desk staff. First of all, she greets me by questioning my credit card because I have a married name that did not match my maiden name... I get that it's policy however I have rarely been questioned on a simple name change let alone in such a rude manor. Then after I prove I did not steal my own credit care, she proceeds to tell me that the rate is $64.99 a night. I said on the WYNDHAM REWARDS website I booked it at $58. She says she has to charge extra because there are TWO people instead of ONE staying. I told her I am with Wyndham Rewards and I have NEVER had someone upcharge me for ONE additonal guest. I can understand upcharging for 5 guests or so? But 2? even a ONE bed room can sleep TWO people. I told her it's a scam. She says "you can cancel!!" I said, "no thats alright..Ill stay" Why did I stay? She had already ran my credit card and ID. I KNEW she would take my money regardless of if I stayed or not. POOR hospitality, you should be ashamed of how you treated a Wyndham Rewards member. NEVER have I seen a hotel chaqrge extra for just TWO people! I would not recommend, unless you're just a single traveler..however if you travel with a partner prepare to be scammed. read more

I'm in a non-smoking room, but smoking and non-smoking rooms are scattered throughout the hotel. The smell in the lobby and hallways is overwhelming and is entering my room. The hallways are very hot. The carpet is in desperate need of replacement. The grout in the bathroom floor is filthy. The hotel is in a run-down part of town. There is no closet in the room, just a hanging bar. The fridge and microwave are nice and in good working order. The TV is small. The chairs and dresser need replacing. This is a gem of a property for any traveler on the road, and great for animal lovers who are traveling with their pets. We stayed here a year ago with two dogs and were very pleased with the facility. So on our way back to the midwest, we stopped there again this summer with our new dog. The whole place is clean and in good repair. The green spcae around is wonderful for pet walking. The staff is very nice. Love the pool, too! Always clean and inviting. There's a few restaurants in the area (around the corner at the next intersection), so this exit offers some food options as well. The bed was nice and firm, pillows were comfortable, and the a/c unit was really quiet! They had already had the a/c on before we got into the room so it wasn't musty or stiffling like some places we've checked out. The room featured a good shower/bath, fridge, and microwave so we were able to store our leftovers. The only thing that is not perfect is that there is no elevator to get to the second floor, but the stairwells are inside the building and carpeted, so easy to navigate for pets. read more
