As a Vietnamese person, and someone who used to work at a pho shop -- plus my family owned a business -- I understand how hard and difficult it is to open and run a restaurant here as an immigrant. Because of that, I usually don't write bad reviews. But I'm writing this because I genuinely want the owner to read it and understand. I love my culture and our food, and everywhere I go I always try Vietnamese restaurants. I chose this place because it looked like a mom-and-pop shop, and I really like supporting local businesses. We dined in during lunchtime, and it wasn't very busy, so we got seated right away. We ordered: - Rice with Grilled Beef: it tasted good and the portion was decent. We added a fried egg on top for $2.45. Everything was okay, but the color of the pickled vegetables didn't look fresh to me. - Vermicelli with Grilled Shrimp, Pork, and Egg Rolls: also a decent bowl, no big complaints. But I asked for no bean sprouts, the server repeated it to confirm, and it still came out with bean sprouts. Now here's the part that really disappointed me. Everywhere I've been, when you order a rice plate, it usually comes with a small side of soup. This place didn't, so we decided to order one. I knew we would be charged for it, and that's fine. But $8 for a small bowl of beef broth -- barely around 4 oz -- is honestly outrageous. I understand pho broth takes a lot of time, effort, ingredients, and experience. I respect that. But this? This didn't feel reasonable at all. I'm not expecting anything to be given for free just because I'm Vietnamese and I speak Vietnamese when I order. Even if they offered, I wouldn't take it. That's not the point. The point is, I felt really disappointed -- because this is my own people, and it made me feel like I got taken advantage of by my own people. I'm speaking up like this not to bash a small business, but because I want them to understand: every dollar customers spend is money they work hard for. You shouldn't take advantage of that or use excuses to raise prices like this. And what made it worse is that I've heard from locals who've been there and personally know the owner that "they only do that to people from out of town." That honestly made me even more upset. You might make extra money from one visit, but you lose trust permanently. read more

Hesitant to post but I feel the owner needs to know. Actually advised her too. Ordered beef pho and bun Bo hue. The portion was incredibly not appropriate for the prices they charge. My son was still hungry after his bowl. Literally I counted the slices of meat and it's less than a kid's portion. I had to ask for our drinks. Food came out before the drinks. I understand inflation but this is incredibly disappointing. I used to own a restaurant do understand completely but this beyond ridiculous. Ordered 2 bowls and a coke. $50+ Not about the price because it's not about that. Don't mind paying for good food but this is very much taking advantage of customers. read more

Our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When we arrived, we were initially seated in a dark corner of the restaurant despite there being other available seating. We also had to remind the staff to bring our drinks because they were left sitting at the counter for an extended period, even though no one appeared to be attending to them. The food was equally underwhelming. It lacked flavor and tasted very bland. We specifically requested our beef to be cooked medium, but it arrived severely overcooked, making it tough and unenjoyable. As a Vietnamese person who is familiar with authentic Vietnamese cuisine, I was especially disappointed by the quality of the food. Easy to see why the restaurant was empty. Service was surly. Couldn't accommodate a simple request that I literally get at every other VN restaurant. The waitress wouldn't even try to find out how much a small cup of broth would cost. Along with shaking beef and spring rolls. Dark, dingy, empty is a bad sign. read more

I imagine this is a new restaurant because there are still some kinks that need to be ironed out like an "open" sign was off when the spot was indeed open, and the owner does not allow tap water to be served. Another amazing find in what has to date been an exotic food desert! The owner is Vietnamese, and one can definitely taste it in the food. I've enjoyed vermicelli bowls and stirfry tofu here so far, and as soon as my fast has ended, I shall be diving into a large bowl of phò, which I suspect will rival the excellent phò I already found at Viet House. It's a storefront restaurant, so it may not look like much, but it is definitely authentic and worth a try. Service is lovely. read more

There is limited seating here at this restaurant and the tables that were available weren't real clean. The service was lousy or at least our server was. She had a horrible attitude and spoke to other customers this way as well. There was another server who came by to check on us and she was super sweet. Their saving grace is that the food was good. We had the spicy noodle with beef and a pork banh mi sandwich. The broth in the soup was great with wonderful spice. The beef was a little tough but edible. The banh mi is a must get. In town for work and found this small pho place. Ordered their beef pho with pork egg rolls as appetizer. The broth was fragrant and sweet. There are not many places that I don't have to add hoisin sauce to the broth. The egg rolls were good but a bit wet/oily on the inside. Could just be how the filling is made. Service was great.
