My 2019 Chevy Silverado transmission was fixed here. Jim and Tom are great and very knowledgeable. Instead of a rebuilt transmission. They ordered a brand new zero miles transmission. Trust when I tell you Jim and Tom are great at what they do. The price was way cheaper than several places I took my truck to before. They were quoting 6k to 9k for a rebuilt use transmission. But Jim and Tom They ordered a new transmission. It took about a week for delivery and the labor two days. My truck is running like I just bought it. My 2007 Dodge Diesel 5.9 Mega Cab 9000 pound truck was revving very high when I stepped on the fuel. Climbing a hill with a load say 1000 pounds made things worse. For Free Tom got in the truck with me with his diagnostic tool and we went for a test drive. He even laid on his back under my truck to see if this was an easy fix. After he drove the truck he pointed out to me that I have no second gear. I said hell no, OMG. But he proved it to me by adjusting the gears during our drive. They even installed a billet torque converter as an upgrade Wow, much more metal where it counts. I have had conversations with other techs and even transmission guys. But NO ONE else knew their stuff like Tom. I love the guy, he was like a family to me and my truck. A few other places say leave the truck and pay me $200, not Tom, Bayshore Transmission was one of the best car experiences ever. Was referred there by our mechanic and they were less than helpful. Guy on the phone totally brushed off my husband saying he was busy and "just back from vacation" and to "call back on Thursday" because our check engine light wasn't on (our mechanic advised us not to drive the car due to transmission issues). My transmission was due for a service and recently I've noticed that it wasn't shifting one time. I have moved from Burlingame to Walnut Creek, but I am loyal to Bayshore because it is a great shop and has done my vehicles well. I took my van to Bayshore and it was past 6pm (typically closed). I was just gonna drop it off, but Tom was there and he was cleaning up his shop. He dropped me off at BART too (if I would have left my van there when they were closed, I would have either lyft or walked). Tom said he will take a look at it while when he does the maint. on the transmission. I get a call later saying they adjusted something and it is working fine now. Your lucky if you get their full attention, time of day and an appointment they are willing to commit to. They feel their contracts are more important then the average, run-of-the-mill customer who wonders in. Even after repeated communications on the day to drop off, its all up to whether they have nothing better to do. I was brushed aside and forced to go elsewhere, sorry, next time, fully commit to a date and time and you might get more customers. (yes i understand the importance of good contracts, but if you can't handle "us" the little guy, then turn off the neon sign that reads OPEN for Business) you wasted my precious time!! read more

I found Santa at Bayshore Transmissions 10yr old car, east coast rust-bucket underneath, exterior beautiful. Gears slipping, every transmission code for Check Engine light possible coming up. Took it to 2 transmission places that said, "sorry not worth repairing." Took it to Bayshore. Tom took his time, I was in no rush (the next stop was a junk yard). He did his research. Added fluid (even tho it said it didn't need it, it actually did) and drove it and all the check engine lights went out. He called me and said, "I thought this car was done for too but it just has a misread." I'm going to take it for a longer spin tho to make sure you don't get stuck (I was headed to bodega for holiday week). He spent hours on it, just charged me $150. Best part is the kid that works with him was super nice and showed me where to read the gauge (since it is messed up) and all sorts of other things about the engine since he use to own an Eclipse. They are all well-educated, native English speakers and they take their time to do things right. I can't tell you how much I appreciate Bayshore Transmissions; they saved my car for $150. After checking around with a few different shops to get a tranny rebuilt, I found Tom's shop on Yelp. He quoted me MUCH less than the quotes that I was getting. Add that he is a true professional, and it was a no-brainer. Let me explain. I called 6 shops. They all charge for the R&R (remove and replace) labor, and they of course charge for the rebuild. They all quoted me around $400 to $600 for the R&R and between $900 to $1300 for the rebuild. So you can imagine that I was pleased to hear Tom's quote of $1100 for everything. Score!!! I took my ML320 here because I had a few issues. I had about 3-4 leaks. A transmission leak that made my car undriveable. Tom and his assistant are great they saved my Christmas travels this year. I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 4x4 the engine light has been on since I bought it 4 yrs ago. Aamco has checked it several times and charged me about $500 bucks all together. Engine light comes back on in no time. Finally the second gear goes and they did the best job in a couple of days at a great price. My transmission is so good now with smooth shifting and no engine light yeh. Got a 2005 Ford Taurus automatic fixed in Dec. 2011 by Bayshore Transmissions- they are very familiar with Ford transmissions. Their estimate was very competitive, and was simply the final price. Tom is an old school professional with incredible amount of experience. I have a 2000 ford super-duty that developed a typical 125k breakdown....needlsss to say Tom took the truck in updated all the parts to make it tougher and last longer than before....all with in 3 days of drop off.
