I've noticed a steady decline in both customer service and grooming services over recent visits. Staff interactions feel less engaged, and communication around appointments and expectations hasn't been as clear. The grooming itself has been inconsistent, with less attention to detail than I experienced in the past. It's disappointing, as this used to be a go-to spot. I hope management takes the time to reassess and improve the overall experience.It feels like there's less attention to detail and care overall. Hoping to see improvements, because this used to be a place I trusted. Please consider putting Eddie back at front gate so it's welcoming and not feeling like an interrogation when we drop our fur babies off. read more

We have been using Bayside to board our dogs for years and never had an issue, until this time. We received a call on Sunday from one of the managers stating our dog had a nosebleed during her bath at bayside. It was a lot of blood, so much so that she drove in to see what had happened. *My dog has never had a nosebleed before. The young lady working the front desk really needs some training on customer service. She gave my wife incorrect information during drop off. When we picked our dog up and were asking for an explanation to why she told us what she did and why there was soo much blood during her bath. The girl just kept staring blankly at her computer. One of the other employees at the front desk read what the manager who had left for the day had written. . So much for the healthy pet guarantee. We have an appointment with our vet to have her checked out. The only positive takeaway would be the intake employees. They have always been kind and I feel they really care about the animals. read more

Nalu has stayed at Bayside multiple times. We have had nothing but positive experiences. One of the times she stayed I realized I had never seen the back area where the dogs stay. Upon picking Nalu up I asked to see the back area. I was told sure and to allow Nalu to stay with a deck hand in front so she wouldn't think she was being boarded again. First, I thought that was very thoughtful for Nalu. Second, the back was immaculate. The team had no idea I was gonna request to go back so no time to get area ready. I was so pleasantly surprised that Nalu will never board anywhere but here. When she arrives, it's like the staff know who she is and greet her so pleasantly. This last time, I made an error on pick up date and they made arrangements for correction without a second thought. I recommend Bayside for any needs they offer but especially boarding because of our delightful experiences. Thank you all so much for taking such good care of our baby. read more

One on one puppy training with Amanda was outstanding. Amanda is personable, professional, she knows her "stuff" and was outstanding with our puppy. Firm yet friendly, our puppy responded to Amanda and us as Amanda assessed and adjusted our techniques and messaging. We will engage Amanda on a two-week basis for a couple of months. Our first post-training day walk was "miraculous, a more responsive puppy to my commands and almost zero stress for puppy and me. We strongly recommend Amanda and Bayside Bed & Breakfast puppy play as well! Well done!! read more

Best place I have ever boarded my dogs. They truly care and take great care of them!!!

Over the years we have boarded various pets a Bayside Bed & Biscuit when we travel. My only complaint with that has to do with ME not being able to say NO...hahaha...Sometimes boarding has cost almost as much as the rest of our trip because there are so many great options you can add on to have your pet pampered and attended to in your absence. So just be aware that those extra items can start to add up when boarding here. What inspired me to write a review though is Bayside Bed & Biscuit's "Puppy Play" and "Doggy Daycare" options. Post Hurricane Harvey we fostered and ultimately adopted a Belgian Malinois mix from the pound. She wasn't really in our Master Plan but she needed a good home and we were happily able to give her one. Our pup (Merle) is super smart with buckets of energy. Sometimes at the end of our long work day my husband and I aren't quite so full of energy as Merle. Bayside was the perfect answer to the situation. Once a week we drop Merle off for Puppy Play. The employees take her from me early so I won't be late to work. They all know Merle by name and even notice her new collars or harnesses. They keep us updated with who her favorite puppy friends are. But the best thing of all is they play with Merle for hours! She plays with the employees and other dogs for about 8 hours with a little midday break in there somewhere. Merle comes home exhausted and happy. And she always perks up when she knows it is time to go to Puppy Play again. We move her up to Doggy Daycare in a couple of weeks and I just know she will love it as much as she has Puppy Play. read more

This is the best place in Houston. My dog has been going to them for 7 years and my other dogs, who have passed, went from the beginning of the establishment. I drive from intown to board and have her groomed. Hannah is great on detail of the groom and all the staff makes my Scottie so happy when we arrive. The quality of service and attention to detail is one of the reasons I am willing to drive from town. I have friends who have had parents from other states bring their dogs to board. Do not believe the TROLLS who have written terrible reviews. The management and owners are fair and just and are the only people I would trust my animal with for any amount of time. All the other services are great: group play, training, grooming, bathing, all great. Any complaints are met and adjusted. I have a Scottish terrier and the cut is complicated. It is also one that can be very personal and it looks GREAT every single time. Even my breeder, who is a show judge, loved the groom. This is the best place I have ever seen. They get to know your pet. Heather is amazing. Our Little Lady loves her grooming time. She always comes back looking and smelling like a million bucks. I have used this place before and was happy with service and facilities.. Their services can be expensive but as I said it is a nice place... We have four dogs and a few days ago my father died so we were making rush arrangements to go out of town.. We were taking our two oldest dogs and leaving the two youngest at bed and biscuit.. Well all I heard was berating from the girl checking us in " you should of brought them in to socialize in day care.. Should of brought them into training... She is missing a vaccine you should of got that before now she has to deal with more traumatic of a visit " yeah lady I understand we SHOULD of prepared better for the doggies stay but then again my dad should not be DEAD either I ended up leaving with my two dogs... My older dogs have stayed there numerous times... But they will not be going back... The front desk girl was just rude beyond belief read more

The response from the owner only reinforces my point. (1) Winston absolutely had an appointment which I made. (2) He was cut on his testicles so should I believe those were matted? (3) Winston wasn't matted from "poor brushing" & had been groomed by Hannah one month before. He had a flea infestation which caused mats. I am saddened to have to write this review as we have used this resort for over 3 years and we will no longer be taking our dogs there. In general, I agree with the rest of the reviewers that the front desk is hurried and could be more friendly. However, their care of our dogs is much more important than their client skills to us. So, I must say that the care of our dogs has become sub standard. After the previous visit out male Lab came home with Kennel Cough. Now I perfectly understand that Bordatella vaccines do not cover all variations of Kennel Cough so to me it wasn't a huge deal. However, when I called to tell them they had the cough in the kennel they got relatively indignant. And, I wasn't calling to complain but to inform. Our 8 year old lab is suffering from renal failure so we have him on Hills K/D food and tramadol for pain. I measure the food and place it in sandwich bags labelled with the day and time he is to be fed. When I picked him up today there were still 2 bags full of food. Also, I cannot verify they gave him his medicine. Unfortunately, we can not kennel our dogs at a facility that forgets to feed the dogs. read more

This facility is really nice and bright and sparkly. While that is important and something I look for, I also pay attention to how they treat my dog, her reaction when I drop off and pick up, along with how they treat me. My dog is happy when I drop her off and pick up. The reason for 3 stars is the mediocre attitude of some of the staff. I say some because when I call to check on my dog they are very, very sweet and thorough. However, when I check in or out, I am rushed every single time. This also happens when I call to inquire about availability. The handlers are very kind and gentle with my girl. :) She has been groomed here and always looks great. My dog recently had an accident which caused her to be very sick. Since I was going out of the country in 2 days I was nervous about boardiing her because of this issue. While she was healthy when I dropped her off I wanted to share what happened to her so they would know and I was cut off 3 times during the check in. This has happened before (I've boarded her about 4-5 times) but I have ignored it. This time it really mattered to me. I finally interrupted her and shared it was important I be heard and then she let me finish. I wish they had people a little less rushed up front. I kind of get the feeling the owner has hired all of their friends or people they know and they don't take things are seriously as say someone that willingly sought out the job. Just my opinion...who knows if it's true. I also find the hours a bit odd. They open at 8 am on weekdays. A lot of other dog boarders start around 7am which makes sense because most people I know have to be at work by 8 and to do this all in an hour plus getting to work is a hassle. I also find the pick up times on Sunday different. The two hour window is fine but 2-4pm is awkward. When we board it's because we are headed out of town. People like to utilize Sundays as part of their weekend but I can never come back on a Sun afternoon because I have to be there no later than 4. Other places are later on Sun which make more logical sense, as in "get your pet on your way back home". I do like they are a local business who seems to be doing very well! read more

I am in the military and left for school for a week. I left my pup with them and when I got him back he was tired like they said he was going to be after group play. He had a slight limp but I didn't think anything of it. He slept the rest of the night and the next day he couldn't walk on that same foot. I called the place and they said the didn't notice anything and btw remember group play isn't covered in that insurance you paid for. Then they proceeded to tell me to take my dog into the doctor to get checked out. No shit!...Turns out he sprain his leg! I canceled my future reservations with them and would not recommend them to anyone else. read more

Update: I originally gave a one star review for the reasons below. The owner reached out to us and has made sure to make things right. I appreciate any business where complaints are taken seriously and measures are taken to ensure better service in the future. We have taken our schnauzers several times to be groomed. They cut is never a proper schnauzer cut. They always ignore any instructions we give. I would not recommend this place to anyone. My husband sat with the groomer and showed her exactly what we wanted and she completely ignored it. We asked for their teeth to be brushed and when we picked them up they hadn't brushed their teeth. They offered to comp the teeth brushing on our next visit. I am not sure how that was supposed to fix the issue. I have no interest in bringing my dogs back. I have never been happy with the schnauzer cuts here and decided to give it one last shot. Don't get your dog groomed here. read more

Bad customer service. They were very hostile and aggressive with my recently adopted shelter dog. I wouldn't trust them with a pet roach.

I love this place and have been using it for 3.5 years, it's clean and the staff is very helpful. I use the training facility, the groomers, the kennel and the Vets. I like that it is a one stop covers all for my dogs. I like that when I board my pets, there Vet is right there. They never seem to be short handed. I have to remark on the previous comments because I think they are a little unfair. First of all, you are rushed in the boarding and grooming facility, but I believe they try to get you in and out knowing you are on your way to work. Also, I know they try to not let dogs pile up in the waiting area otherwise that could become a very chaotic area. I have notice recently they are a lot more patient at the front desk probably as result of these comments. I know they require all the vaccinations, but I checked out other facilities to try and save money. There are not enough vaccinations in the world that would make me feel safe leaving my dogs at those places. One place outright had a strong urine smell. I have never had them lecture me about training, socializing my dog at Day Care, or using any of the other services. I am never talked into using extra services. They have a loyal following so there is sometimes a waiting list for services, especially boarding and grooming during the holidays. I broke my arm last year and started using the Group Play Facility for my larger dog to get exercise, I have never had one bad experience with the Kennel Techs at Group Play and my girl loves to go. She jumps out the car and starts pawing the gate for them to let her in. If you board your dog, your dog can participate in Group Play for $15/day. Much better than sitting in a kennel all day. I believe their staff members are truly animal people, and sometime animal people are not always good with humans. This place is not perfect but close enough for my dogs. After all, if I'm going on vacation I want them to be happy so I don't worry about them. My only negative remark is that if you pick your dog up on Sunday, you are still charged for Sunday night because your are picking up after the normal pickup time of 12pm, however they do not open until 2 on Sundays. They waive this fee if you paid for any spa services on Saturday. Now, while checking out other boarding facilities, I learned that this is a pretty common practice. The first time it happened to me, they took off the extra night. Now, I just pay for a bath on Saturday to avoid the extra night fee and come home with a clean dog. read more

Bayside is an amazing place to take your pets! I take my dog once a week and she comes home exhausted! She's also acting friendlier around other dogs and she gets soooo excited to get in the car when I tell her where we're going. The staff always remembers her name and she never comes home dirty or smelling like she's played with 50 dogs all day - very important! We also had a great experience today at the vet with my cat; he's very anxious and really only likes our dog and us (sort of) and the staff knew exactly how to handle him. Normally when he goes to the vet he is hiding under the bed for two days afterward, but now he's lounging in our coffee table and being chatty after having three shots! They didn't try to force him to do anything and let him come out of his kennel at his own pace, Dr. Shepherd and Jenneth and the front desk staff are AMAZING and I'll be a lifelong customer. We made a grooming appointment for our Standard Poodle. Six hours later, they hadn't even started. When we picked up our dog, the hair was uneven. Little puffs of hair still sticking out that hadn't been clipped. It looked like he was clipped with a Vitamix blender instead of a groomer. We are never taking our dog back there again! read more

Use caution when using the kennel and play group. I have been taking my lab to play group once or twice a week for over four years. Today I went to pick my lab up and he was limping. I asked did they notice it and they responded with yes since noon. It was 5 pm. My response was and you did not call me. I asked for the owner they directed me to the front office. Also, the vet I use and they know this shares a parking lot. The vet was wonderful!! He has a torn ACL. I am so upset the kennel/play group aloud my dog to suffer all day. Will not be returning to the kennel. Definitely the vet!! They were great. I am updating my review because the owner contacted me after a few days. She apologized for what happened. The owner did not make excuses and felt what happened was awful. She is pulling the employees together to go over expectations going forward on how to deal with hurt dogs. read more

I have used them for years and continue to allow them to try to redeem themselves. They do a good job for for or five times then they completely drop the ball. They cancel the appointment the morning of the appointment. They've had me come in to pick up our pet and failed to groom them saying "sorry, we were really busy today" ... They are outrageously expensive and we are paying for care and service but get average at best. I won't be back. This is not the place for people that care about their pet or value good service. read more

I have been taking my basset hound puppy to doggie day care here for the past few months. He goes once a week or once every other week. He loves coming here and comes back SO tired. I love that they post pictures on Facebook that you can look at. We also did the puppy basic obedience class with Kayla, and she is a great trainer. I recently left my 4 month old husky at this facility for 6 days. She had been there 1 time for day play before and seemed to love hanging out with other dogs. We have taken our fur babies to Bayside B & B for the past three years and have loved being able to call this place a second home for our pups. We've utilized every service available for dogs and have nothing but the best to say about the quality of care our dogs receive while at B & B. Our dogs LOVE going to daycare twice a week and are completely pooped out when we get home. When it came time to add a second dog to our family about a year ago, trainer Charla helped us determine a breed that would compliment our first pup's personality. She helped us find an above awesome breeder and she continues to help us train. Our dogs know their stuff thanks to her training, but equally important, my husband and I have learned a ton from Charla about dog training and how to keep it up at home. The employees of B & B treat our dogs like their own and that is the best thing you can ask for! We would absolutely recommend Bayside, especially trainer Charla! read more

I've given this facility a total of 4 tries. After the first 2 I should have followed my gut. My first and 2nd experience were early in the year when I dropped off on a Saturday both times. Initially I was greeted by a lady with black hair who was very, very nice and professional. In the middle of her getting information from me, another lady (who I believe was named Tammy) interrupted her and practically reprimanded her for something she had done pervious to me coming in. After I just stood there for several minutes listening, the black haired women finally acknowledged me again and apologized. The check in process went smoothly after that, but the entire time I was checking my dog and cat in, the same woman was behind the counter clearly complaining about another customer to another employee. The bad mouthing was very obvious and very unprofessional. Regardless, I left my animals and went about my way. The pick-up process was even more of a red flag. The charges were off, my dog never got the bath I asked for and they were unable to locate all of his belongings - which was a blanket and a leash/collar. The 2nd visit was a three day trip and I didn't have any issues belongings on this one. The only complaint I had here was that I wanted to pick my pets up on Sunday to avoid having to pay another day. I was told that I would be charged for Sunday if I picked up after noon but conveniently they don't eve open until 2. When I mentioned this to a girl at the front desk she rudely told me that was the policy and if I didn't want to pay for that day, I could get something done in the bathing room. Because I didn't even get the bath I requested the first time, I didn't want to sign him up again so I agree to just pay for the extra day. My 3rd visit had a few issues. Although I was given attitude from who I think was the owner when I had a few questions about the playtime with other dogs, everyone else was friendly and my dog seemed to have a good time playing based on pictures I saw being posted on their Facebook page - this is probably my favorite thing about them. I did drop off prescription canned food for my cat - exactly enough for the trip. When I picked her up I was given back over half the cans. When I questioned the staff, I was sworn they fed her everything. Obviously flat out lying to me as I counted the cans against the days she would be boarding so it would have been impossible. My 4th visit was just a few weeks ago and it finally broke the camel's back. I had an appointment for about 10 days for my dog only. Since he passed the test to play with other dogs I signed him up for playtime with other dogs everyday he was there, including Saturday. I questioned the staff about the hours he would get to play on Saturday. I was told he would play from 8-2 but the cost was going to be a full price of $25 on top of his boarding cost. This didn't make sense to me because during the week I chose to allow him to play all day and it was $15. I think they said the hours were from 7-6. I asked why the cost was so much higher for a shorter day and the employee at the front desk was very rude and short with me. At the end of the conversation her exact words were "if you don't want to pay then don't sign him up at all." I was completely livid. I ended up signing him up and leaving. I swore to myself I wouldn't be back after this trip. Upon pick up things got even worse. I noticed my bill was much less then I had expected. This usually wouldn't be a big deal but when I started looking at the charges, there were NONE for doggie daycare!! When I questioned the woman upfront, she stumbled over her words and started calling other staff members around the building. It turns out they FORGOT to sign him up to play the entire time. So, in the 10 days he was there he only got the 2 - 15 minute potty walks and that is it! In the process of sorting out the details of what my dog actually received during his stay, I also learned that on the weekend no one is there until 8 am and they leave at 4 pm. 4 PM TO 8 AM IS TOO LONG for any dog to have to wait to be taken outside. My guy refuses to go potty where he sleeps so he is forced to hold it 16+ hours on the weekends. I was so appalled I didn't even question the times during the week. I guess that was my fault as I should have been more precise with my questions during the tour I was given, but it sure seemed like that fact was purposely covered up. I will not be returning to Bayside Bed & Biscuit ever. A few staff were very caring and seemed to really love both my dog and cat, but my overall experience was completely horrible. read more

We have used Bayside for 8 years. We mostly use for grooming, but have also boarded, and done training, as well as their group play. They are always wonderful. I can tell that they really love my dog and he is always excited when we get there. The last time we boarded, they called me concerned that he was limping. I had forgotten to send his pain meds for his hip. They watched him carefully for us. I highly recommend them. read more

I've been fortunate thus far in not having to board my Great Dane, but the time came this past weekend that this would change. I know several people that have boarded their dogs(labs, boxers) with bayside bed and biscuit and they never had any problems and they(the dogs) all love going there. Well, after my dogs first experience with the staff at bed and biscuit, he will definitely be going back for our future vacations. He tolerated being there better than most danes(it's common for them to have separation problems), his bath went well and his nail trimming went well. He wasn't shy at all with the staff and actually sat in one of their laps. Overall, I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to board their dog. read more

So, I was very nervous about boarding my Border Collie. I was going to be gone 9 days and I hate the thought of her being stuck in a kennel, she is hyper! So when I found out that they have playtime from 8-3 I was so excited to have her board here. I first went by and got a look of the place and it was nice, then I set up her stay and told the staff that I would try and set up her assessment soon. The week before she had to stay I took time off of work so she could be assessed, all dogs have to have a group assessment to be able to participate in the playtime. I went over what I wanted...she would play everyday that I would be gone. My mother-in-law brought her to the place on Saturday and went over everything again with the staff, so it was all in the computer...my mother-in-law was very rushed and she did not like the customer service. When I got back to pick her up, I noticed my bill was smaller than I expected. They did not let her play and all she got were 2 potty breaks and 15 mins of one on one time....NOT WHAT I ASKED. Then on top of it all the girl at the front states, "oh that must be frustrating..." REALLY??? So I left very mad. The next day my dog started with a cough....the vet stated it was kennel cough. Needless to say I will NEVER use them again. I would rather pay way more and know that my dog is getting time outside of her kennel. read more
