The lady at the register wouldn't sell us alcoholic we didn't have a "real ID" but we did have a drivers license, state issued. She said it wasn't valid so from now on we'll go across the street and tell everyone else to do the same. We and lots of our family have boats in the marina and we're gonna let them know not to go here bc it's not worth the hassle. read more

This place rocks, man. It is the HEART of Rock Hall! You kidding me? Why do I say this? There are fewer people from Chestertown in your face while you are just trying to get food! That and they got your waterman's rubber gloves in lots of styles. These are good for dinghy sailing, too but only if you are a real man or woman! (doug) But let's focus on FOOD. These folks know how to get great food. Heck some of it gets pulled right outta da Bay by the folks buying da rubber gloves and other cool Bay necessity stuff. The butcher shop has great deals AND they take orders for your turkey and....there aren't any Chestertown people to trip over IN the store.....MUCH! If you don't go....you won't know! Sail on in....err whatever your rig is! OH THEY ALSO HAVE A GREAT SANDWICH SHOP IN THE DELI...hi gang...keep up the good work! I have read some of the "high price" reviews, but I believe that is not necessarily the case....depends upon what you want. So many Bay towns that we have visited, in recent sailing trips, have lost their small grocery/deli businesses. Most, completely, i.e., St. Michaels. But, others, to grocery options some distance from the marinas. Bayside Foods provided exactly what this cook needed to restock the boat [especially, meats, local produce and dairy products]. And, all of the store's employees were friendly and helpful. read more

This is not a city or big suburbs grocery store - it's a small market that services a small local community. I was very happy with the diverse selection of product. You'll find a little bit of everything in a nice range of brands; especially in the condiments, dry and canned goods section. They also had a nice selection of pre-packaged meat (bone in pork chops, chicken, and lamb chops), small but good selection of produce. It would be even better with a few fresh fish options and a little bit more produce. Given that this is my first visit, I'm hoping that their produce selection increases as the local farms begin producing more. read more

I just started using Bayside and it is absolutely great. Yes they do not have the selection of the big box store but they have a fantastic bakery, a great meat department and the employees are super friendly. I worked in a large dept store in Chestertown 30 years ago and back then we knew everyone by first name.Today those big stores only want your money. I started using Bayside because of the Pandemic and was looking for less people and space between us. I have found that Bayside has great white potato pie, Mitchell's Shoepeg corn and many other things the big stores no longer carry. I went to school with Debbie and Jeff and applaud their caring for our Community here in Kent County. Great Job and Great store to shop in. Really one of the only places to pick up food in the area. Not the biggest store but you will find what you need and are looking for.

Bayside prices are a little on the high side but it is the only one in Rock Hall so unless you go to chestertown those are your only options. Usually the meats are decent and their deli is pretty good usually. Sometimes the subs are prepared in a sloppy manner but the large subs are very big. I recommend the italian. Their bread from the bakery section is really good. read more

Food Market,what can I say, it is the only food market in town, so the prices are very high. They need some competition. The Deli, is very old and looks kinda dirty but their subs are good. The store has a huge selection of "stuff". I have never seen so much "stuff" in such a small store. This place needs a complete Do over. read more

This is a great family owned grocery store, that strongly supports the community, offers a variety of services including driving boaters back to their marinas, whenever possible. Their prices are very competitive, and often regular prices are lower than those of regional chain grocery stores in Chestertown, which is 15 miles away. They try to offer something for everyone, there is a gluten free section, a decent deli, small selection of artisanal bread, small but good fresh meat section (they do have their own meat cutters)...Their greatest weakness is fresh veggies and fruits. Keep in mind this is a smaller scale grocery store...I do most of my food shopping there. read more

This is Our Local Market and we are so fortunate to have it. The Deli is Very Good along with the fresh bakery. The meat section usually has a nice variety and usually a very good quality from which to choose. For a small Hometown Grocery, it is always amazing to find such varied choices. Plus, we have a very friendly group of employees. Many know the customers by first name and are always ready to help in any way they can. read more
