I'e been taking my dogs and cats to Bayside since shortly after they opened. In general the staff, including the vets, are friendly and seem to care about the animals they care for, and were very patient with one of my dogs who was very frightened to be there. Unfortunately, in 2 separate instances with 2 different pets, my pets weren't feeling well I brought them in to be evaluated. In both instances I was told that they were healthy with minor issues and prescribed medicine and treatments that were completely unrelated to what the true issues were. With both, after a few days of following the vets' recommendations, they continued to get worse and what was recommended did no good. I brought my first pet back and at that point was told he had cancer and was dead 2 weeks later. I took my 2nd pet to another vet and was told he had cancer and needed to be euthanized a couple of days later due to a large malignant mass under his rib cage. Losing these precious beings was difficult enough, and was made more painful by being misled about their conditions knowing that their pain could have been made more tolerable with the proper treatment. After those experiences I no longer trust the vets to properly diagnose & treat my pets and will be going elsewhere. read more

Our Presley is a rescue part Maltese- Miniature Poodle. He has had two serious emergencies. One being picked up by a hawk and Thrombocytopenia where he was hemorrhaging due to having no red blood platelets ! Recovery has taken a year and still no definite cure but Dr Jen took Presley under her wing and with two hospitalizations, numerous bloodwork and a strict medication regime, Dr Jen saved his life. Presley has old energy back. We will be forever grateful for her constant contact with us, patience and love. The staff are wonderful and caring people that make you feel welcome even thru this difficult Covid period. Dr. Trachtman and Staff were very patient with our boy. We have a 6 year old rescue Pitbull who is very fearful of a lot of things and people. We had to update his rabies vaccination, so he can get his dog license this year. We were recommended to Bayside because they are Fear free certified. We had come more than once in order to get blood and give him his vaccinations, but, They did this so he wouldn't be traumatized. They did an initial wellness visit to see how he did in a VET setting and get his weight for meds, so he would be mellowed out for his "real visit". He was given a toy and lots of treats. Unfortunately at the "real visit" we was still a little too hyper , so we had to muzzle him and wrap him in a blanket for everyone's safety, when the needles came out, but the staff did great. They never faltered and were so patient with him He can really be a handful. We managed to get blood work and vaccinations. Victory! They also didn't over charge us and only charged us for the visit where we did blood work and vaccinations. Thanks again Bayside! read more

Compassionate, responsive and extremely knowledgeable. We used Bayside with my mom's cat, and postcovid had to wait in the queue upon moving back to RI over 7 months ago. Throughout the process the staff kept in touch with us, and have supported us with our "Off the Hook" goldendoodle puppy... (by referring us to that trainer). Techs and Dr. Trachtman have gone out of their way to give us contacts, research and information to navigate multiple stressful pet related issues. The doctors and Staff have always been pleasant, kind and accommodating. We have been taking our dogs there for some time and have always felt that our concerns have been taken seriously. The best vet we have ever been to, and we are so thankful to have found them. My family and I moved to Barrington in 2017, and from our first visit to Bayside, we have had nothing but wonderful experiences for both of our dogs. We've gone through some health issues with both dogs, and the care that they have received has been top notch. Dr. Meredith Taylor is a phenomenal veterinarian who always puts us at ease. Vet Techs are excellent as well, especially John, who cares for our dogs as lovingly as we do. Victoria and Sabrina are great at the front desk and field our calls and questions whenever we need a quick answer or more. Prices are fair and the facility is always clean and organized. I won't have the right words. And there are not enough stars available for this practice. Bayside vet was recommended to me when I brought home a new puppy last winter. I had two older dogs and had never felt comfortable with a single vet. Once I met Dr. Jen, I transferred my older girls to the practice. Appointments are never rushed. You can feel the love from everyone in the office. Questions are answered and your pet is thoroughly examined...not just physically but socially and emotionally. Yesterday I made the decision to put down my oldest girl. Dr. Jen spoke to her and my children in her final moments and it was exactly what we needed. Updated review. I had to take my kitty in for a suspected UTI. The staff was lovely and on top of everything going on. I'm really pleased with the quality of care my dog has received at Bayside. The staff here is friendly and efficient. Bayside went above and beyond to provide excellent care for my dog. The facility itself is bright, modern and clean, and there's a nice grassy potty area. Discharge and follow up instructions are clear and detailed, and email communication from the practice is great (particularly for remembering to schedule vaccines). I used to go to Warren Animal Hospital where it felt like they were treating objects instead of pets. My experience with Bayside has been the complete opposite! I have a rescue dog who is very fearful, but the staff takes the time to make sure he feels comfortable and safe every time. If I could rate Bayside Vet higher than 5 stars I would. Dr. Jen and staff are without a doubt the best veterinary service in New England. Having no children makes my fur babies my "kids" and Bayside gets the importance of that. To say they go above and beyond would be an understatement. I've read other reviews condemning the rates. Well, to me there isn't a price on your "kids" well being. Considering all that is done in a house call (mobile service) its well worth the costs. Convenience, compassion, treatment, education, humor, respect and that's just in the first 10 minutes of arrival. Our yellow lab is 14.5 yrs old. Two years ago we switched her to this practice because the one we had always gone to, just seemed to be getting too rushed and impersonal. Best move ever. Recently she had pancreatitis; Dr.Jen diagnosed it immediately and the exceptional care our dog received for the next several days was outstanding. When we brought her in, we really thought it might be goodbye forever. Within a week, she was back to her old self, eating heartily and taking her daily walks. Not sure we would have ever received such insight and care elsewhere. You want a first rate Vet and practice? Bayside is the real deal. EXCELLENT. read more

Extremely disappointed with bayside. We have been bringing our dogs there for years. My senior dog had a scare where we had to bring him to the ER , I followed up with his primary vet with whom I never got to speak to and left a message with the receptionist ( idek if she's a vet tech or just merely a receptionist ) but I pleaded to call me back with a plan of care to keep our senior dog home and not in the hospital due to wanting to keep him comfortable if he shall pass ( very heartbreaking) I was expecting Information , education on the illness , meds to have handy , maybe fluids to keep handy that I can administer subcutaneous ( I am also an RN ) but THEY NEVER CALLED. They never called and gave us that. So my dog ended up having another episode yet worse , and we were left hopeless and scared. When I called to speak to the doctor this receptionist said there are no doctors in the building just dr. Track man and she's out. I'm like okay ... so now what ....??? She had no answers no help and meanwhile my dog is in rough shape. SO my dog will no longer go there in the future. Terrible service , lacks giving you any education on how to treat your sick animal. I've brought my dog here twice now, once for a check up and once because something was wrong. Both times were great. It almost doesn't feel like going to the vet. They let me get right in a room because she is dog reactive and were really sweet and helpful about it. They get down on the ground with the dog for the exam and have lots of peanut butter. Kind, loving, extremely knowledgeable....My previous dog had two surgeries by Dr. Trachtman and the care and concern she had for him was amazing. Now we go here with our new dog (and continue there with our cat) and it's like seeing family..... really smart family! Her new partner, Dr. Taylor suits this office perfectly, too. While this practice states that they are "fear free" we ended up having a horrible experience here. Our puppy is a large breed who is anxious at the vet. Our puppy was displaying some undesirable behavior such as jumping, but is not vicious. He had one biting incident that seemed unintentional (spouse was trying to get something out of puppy's mouth when he was less than 3 months old), but has not bitten anyone since that early age. Ultimately the vet did not seem to want to deal with him, and sent us a truly horrible, impersonal e-mail (did not even address me by name), suggesting either intensive training with animal behaviorists (one of the behaviorists they recommended was over $400 for the first visit), sending him to a home with "acres of land" (we have 1/2 an acre of fenced in yard which is plenty for our breed), have him wear a muzzle 24/7 (???), or euthanize him. The vet had not spent extensive time with him at all, and had never done any blood work on him. The level of insensitivity, cruelty, and lack of ethics is truly something I never thought I would experience here. As a side note, no one seems to understand how the billing system works, so when you question the charges, they somehow figure out you were overcharged. I wonder how many clients are overpaying. If you love your pet as we do, I would highly recommend finding a different vet. We have since moved on, and are much happier with a vet who is kind, professional, and has knowledge of our breed of dog. read more

They spayed my dog just 2 days after her giving birth which went difficult for her . Reason why I brought her in . I believe she just had an infection but they stated she had a hole in her uterus. They preformed a serious surgery on an 8 pound dog . I lost her I should have never let them spay her or go in to check her out . I would have rather payed thousands of dollars then the 190$ that caused her life . read more

We have not been with Bayside for long but they treat as if we have been with them for many years. Dr. Jennifer Trachtman gives highest level of veterinary care that is available. She is professional , loving and caring, as well as her staff .They are also understanding and very patient. I have a disability that does not always enable me to physically bring my pets to them. The mobile vetinary van is a blessing. One of the first visits we had with them, they came to the house sedated one of our cats and transported him to and from the ER for an echo cardiagram. Can't recommend highly enough. Just moved to providence and met Dr Jen at Pride. At first I thought their clinic was too far, but a 20 minute drive was well worth it for the level of care. The building is clean, shiny and obviously new. Ordinarily my pup stresses the minute she steps foot in the door. Somehow she knows. Here the welcome was warm and everyone went out of their way to put us both completely at ease. With my last vet (as with my own doctor), I always felt rushed. Here I felt that all concerns and questions were answered and the staff took time to get to know us. Dr Jen even gave Stella an acupuncture treatment to relax her (free of charge). She also took the pressure of her eyes in order to see if there were any issues there (as is common with her breed). The bill was comparable to what I paid in Boston but the service was far superior. Horrible/Dismissive Customer Service!! Last week I called upon the clinic to make an appt for my dog/puppy to continue with the "puppy package" I purchased back in October 2015. He was due for a few more shots and I believe a booster. I called and made the appt for this morning (December 8) at 8:15am which seemed to work for both the clinic and myself. I arrived this morning early and waited in the driveway for about 20 minutes. Took my dog out of the truck and let him walk around a little then proceeded to walk into the clinic at 7:50/7:55am. I was immediately approached kind of aggressively by a girl named Kim asking if she could help me. It seemed like I took her off guard for some reason. I told her Baxter was here for his appt this morning at 8am. She told me they had no appointments this morning. While she told me that she walked away to the back asking my last name to double check the schedule. She asked my last name two more times while checking into the computer. She then told me that I didn't have an appt also there wouldn't be a vet in the practice till around 9am. I told her again J.S. made my appt for this morning and I don't understand why now I didn't have it. She offered me an appt at 9:00am and if I wanted to leave and come back I could take that appt...Being frustrated beyond belief at the moment I declined quickly and said I wasn't driving to providence and back on their error. I asked the girl to have J.S. call me so we could figure this situation out and reschedule. I also asked if the clinic wasn't going to provide service according to the puppy package I purchased in October then I wanted a refund for it. The puppy package was approx $579 dollars which was PREPAID in full. I then turned around and started walking out expressing how this whole situation was ridiculous. About an hour later I received a very rude and disrespectful email from Emily explaining that I was abusive and aggressive this morning towards their employee. She attached all my dogs paperwork and told me to not call or step foot back in the clinic. I find Emily's email piss poor customer service skills as to not investigate the whole situation before just dismissing paying customers. Especially prepaid customers. I reached out later to Emily via phone call but she insisted only communicating via email as she didn't see the reason to talk to me over the phone. I just WARN all friends and family to stay clear of this Vet Clinic in Barrington. It's not friendly and if you look closely they remove all negative posts except 2 on yelp. I will be sure to continue posting this horrible experience anywhere I can. In most cases our pets are our children and I wouldn't recommend anyone bringing their child here at all! Just to prove this Vet is less then professional I have a fax cover sheet with a very very in appropriate message written on it to me. So this is one VET that is a complete JOKE from the start about Ethical standards! Anyone who wants a copy of it just e-mail me and I will be sure to forward it over as proof. read more

Dr. Trachtman and her assistant, Emily, spent 2 hours with our 2 dogs--very generous, but also a bit long. The Dr. is clearly a first-rate vet--methodical, empathetic, personable, knowledgable, very bright, and an excellent diagnostician. Since I have a permanent and incurable spinal disease and am basically bed bound, at-home vet care for my dogs is really the only way to go. But the price tag for this service seemed to me not just high, but staggeringly so: two rabies shots, exams, and some meds (no blood work, x-rays, or any of the usual high-priced services) cost $500. There was no warning or indication the cost would be so high, and no options offered for lowering the price. Sheesh, I'm on long-term Social Security Disability. I think she must have mistaken the Chagall prints on my walls for originals, and assumed my wife and I owned the house we were renting--otherwise I can't explain why she offered no options. The mark-up on the meds, like Heartguard, was quite high. A great vet and a great service if you're wealthy. read more
