They refused to accept it, blamed the watch/company, and also managed to worsen it by completely dislodging a piece of the face. Summary: Stay away! ( January 2022) We were headed to the Tyler Galleria to purchase some sneakers. I remember my wife saying her watch bracelet needed some adjustment so we took the watch along. Owning a few watches between us, I could do this simple task. Unfortunately my smallest jeweler's screwdriver is still too large. There are 18 or 19 watch and/or jewelry shops in the mall so plenty of options to get quotes. The first stop quoted us $25. Our second stop was Bayside. There were two guys in the shop. A lighter skinned guy (LS) and a darker skinned guy (DS). I asked LS how much to adjust a stainless steel watch bracelet. I even pointed to similar watches behind me inside the display shelf. LS said $10 to $15. DS took the watch and went towards the back to adjust it. The job took 2 minutes, maybe 3 minutes tops...you get the point. DS hands the watch and says that it will be $50. Wow! Are you kidding me?! My wife and I had to briskly debate with these two regarding the pricing bait and switch. At some point in the middle of the debate, LS said $30 and I stood my ground. They said nobody could adjust a Cartier in this mall LOL. It's just a screw! Check my photo. LS said $20 which is still higher than the quoted $10 to $15. I handed him the $20 just to get away from this place. In hindsight, I should have just purchased the Burgeon 1.6mm jeweler's screwdriver from Amazon. Lesson learned. I have bought over 30 watches from this location and never a problem until now. The owner took a watch in to get fixed that had been in a couple times since new to get the battery fixed since the watch would only run for a week or less until dying. The watch was taken to another jewelry store and was said to have a bad movement.the owner was made aware and said no worry and to bring it to him to get it fixed. As of today he will not release the watch and says that there is money owed on a warranty item and wanted to scream and cuss at me over the phone when I told him I would be there to pick it up. I bought a Citizen Promaster Eco-Drive 200 Meter Dive Watch from Bayside and have had nothing but problems with it. 1st the crystal cracked by itself while on my desk just happen to see it happen and took it in for repair under warranty. This is when I knew it was a mistake to buy from this shop, I had to pay for the crystal which was installed improperly, not fitting the watch face and letting water in. I took it back and showed the Owner that the Crystel was installed improperly and he the said that it was installed correctly, only removing the back and drying it out. Have taken it back again now so full of water from just only diving to 25 feet that it has stopped working completely. Very unhappy with the way that this shop treats its customers and service rendered not standing behind work. My husband and I bought each other watches for our wedding. I wear mine religiously, and he almost never. After almost five years the battery started giving out, so I took it to the jewelry shop in the mall where we bought my wedding ring, only to be told that they couldn't change the battery in store but would have to ship it out. They referred me to Baywood, and I was out the door in a flash. (Kudos to the jewelry shop for being willing to refer to a store that better suited my needs!) Where the jewelry store had told me it would be 4 weeks(!) to change my battery, the guy at Baywood said ten minutes. By the time we walked to the food court and back, it was done. And just $10 -- awesome! All this was very good, but what I was less impressed with was the fact that the guy didn't give me any kind of claim check for my watch. It was a slow night at the mall and he simply said to me, "I'll remember you," which is fine except that he has my property, and I'd like some proof of it - a claim slip would be more for my benefit than his. Of course, when I returned he gave me my watch and there were no problems...but this peek at my paranoid mind is the one thing keeping me from giving him 5 stars.
