In researching home inspectors, Wagner Inspection rose to…read morethe top after reviewing the glowing online reviews on Yelp, Google, and the Better Business Bureau. He recently inspected a home I planned to purchase in western Mass. Throughout the entire process, from our initial phone conversation, the onsite inspection, to his follow-up outreach after receipt of the thorough home inspection report, Ed strived to ensure that I felt secure that he held my best interests as his highest priority. He truly works for the prospective homebuyer and not the agent. Ed is an educator at heart. He teaches homebuying workshops for first time homebuyers in the area, and this propensity to inform shines through during his inspections. He explained every aspect of the inspection to me in detail, regularly asking if I had questions or needed clarification. He not only explains the what, but the why and the how when examining the home. He takes pictures of all high-level inspection findings to include in the report and he categorizes findings by "note," "repair,' "upgrade," "maintenance," "aged." The points of concern he highlighted during the inspection significantly influenced the final home purchase decision. If the next home I purchase is within Ed's geographic range, he will be the first person I call when I need home inspection services again!

Wagner Inspection - I was told that they fixed all the leaks, but maybe this isn't the best approach to a roof issue.

They came in and only checked the three areas where I suspected mold. Three swab test were taken and that was it. Nothing else was inspected nor any air samples or surface test were performed. Even the allergy doctor who recommended this company was very disappointed to hear how the inspection went and agreed I was way over charged for what they did. Do your home work and don't go with the first recommendation. I found a company who came in and inspected the house from attic to basement for $400. Big difference

She is a microbiologist and incrediby knowledgable, as well as caring and responsive to client concerns. She went above and beyond to provide us withe information we needed to remediate our mold problem and personal belongings and help connect us to service providers that could do the work well. There are unfortunately a lot of businesss that are operating in mold remediation that do sub-par work, as we learned through this process, and so you want to be really careful who you hire to inspect and do testing, as well as who you hire to do mold remediation. While she can provide recommendations of good mold remediation companies who do good work, she is not tied to a specific remediation company, so she can provide independent unbiased results, as she does not personally gain anything based on her recommendations. If you think you have a mold problem and need someone to inspect, you won't go wrong if you hire Deb Gordon. She is first and foremost a scientist, but also a pleasure to work with. She will give you guidance so that you can proceed cautiously, while also taking real world concerns into account so that you have a realistic plan.

We highly recommend Eric's and Pilar to Post's services with no reservation. Eric is knowledgeable, focused, thorough, and comes with nearly 20 years of experience which left us reassured during the entire process. Throughout the inspection Eric was available and willing to explain concerns to us in detail and in terms that were simple and easy to follow. He was careful to speak on those things for which were in his scope of practice and directed us to other experts and resources when necessary (though to be fair he seemed to know a lot about a lot). What we appreciated most about his approach was his ability to identify issues in the house without being alarmist. He does a fantastic job of prioritizing concerns especially for folks like us--first time home buyers---while also differentiating the safety risks from general concerns that are important but less critical. This helped us to frame our next steps and be organized about maintaining our home. We found him to be friendly and personable with a sense of humor, which is actually kind of important because a home inspection can be tense stressful and overwhelming for many. Like we mentioned, he is thorough. There were so many places he could have cut corners because something was inaccessible. He did just the opposite. He worked with our realtor in one instance to help gain permission from the seller to get access to the attic. It was a cumbersome process that he didn't shy away from and that speaks to his effort and integrity. We think he just loves what he does. He mentioned enjoying teaching and training, so we suspect that anyone part of his team would offer the same high quality service. Finally, he was very timely. We received our report the same day which is valuable to us given the multiple deadlines involved in the home buying process. If we ever need a house inspected again, he'll be the first person we consider.
