I was looking for a place in Seal Beach and was referred to Baytown Realty from a friend of mine in the area and walked in one weekday. Shana, the manager, and Madeline, the property management assistant, were both so kind and welcoming. Very attentive to my needs in a new home. They had a one bedroom available I went to look at and it was really great, had a beach view and was at a good rate. The application process was all done online which doesn't happen around here much and made it really easy to complete. I decided to not move to Orange County after all but will come back to see Madeline and Shana in the future and would not go anywhere else in town. read more

I'm giving this review as I have seen enough of their properties now and they don't put any TLC into it. Went and looked at a unit today in seal Beach cute place the kitchen counters had food on it, the bathroom was absolutely disgusting dirty. Would not rent from this company. Baytown Realty maybe you should look at your rentals before you offer to show them before renting! Your company should be ashamed of yourself for letting someone go in and see the rental before a thorough clean! read more

I rented from Jim for over two years. Jim is a pleasure to deal with and understands realty. Sadly, he uses a female named Heidi to coordinate with the renters and she is a nightmare to deal with. She refuses to timely fix problems that the units had and often had excuses for why things were breaking. She uses a foreman that doesn't actually fix anything, he only patches things till they break again. Anytime we would have to tell her about something breaking she would give attitude and be very condescending. Jim needs to get rid of her. This company needs to update their systems and units. I think with some TLC this company would be fine, but with Heidi there it wont get better. I would never rent from this company again as long as Heidi is there. read more

Very poor service, no communication what so ever, very old systems, not efficient at all.

If there were 0 stars, this place would be deserving of that title. I would stay far away from this very shady realty company. I've talked to 3 of the 5 (approx) employees and ALL are contemptible, condescending individuals(and that's being nice). I tried to rent a couple different places and they kept telling me that someone "may" put a deposit and I was ready to do it right then! They did this to me on two separate occasions and after that I was done. Unfortunately they monopolize most of the rentals in the community, but I came to find that you can just drive around and find better offers that were cheaper and without the nasty experience. My fiancé and I felt that we were being discriminated against for our age. I just don't think those are any business practices I would ever consider. So in conclusion, I would like to thank Baytown Realty for their horrible experience and business practices because I found a better place right on the water without having to deal with them. I hope any of the owners who hire Baytown to take care of their leases understand how they treat potential clients. Here's to hoping one person reads this and doesn't waste their time going into this place. read more

My husband and I were having dinner on Main Street and needed to waste some time before our reservation and so decided to take a walk and we meandered into this darling storefront "Baytown". We were greeted warmly by Madeline (and later met Shana). We had an hour + to burn and so enjoyed seeing all of the old photos of seal beach and learning some of its history. Madeline's warmth and professionalism along with Shana's expertise inspired us to take a closer look at their rentals, as we'd been discussing renting a home in Seal Beach for a while. The following week we were shown several houses and it took a bit until we found the right one, but we are happily enjoying our weekend getaway in old town and I can't thank Madeline and Shana for their continued hospitality in welcoming us to Seal Beach and for always being so helpful in helping us find our way around town. They never make us feel like we're bugging them, although I'm sure we do! Anyway, I'm obviously surprised to read these old reviews that don't seem remotely like the experience that we've had. I see other names I don't recognize - old employees or maybe even a different owner or under different management perhaps?? But no matter, I can't speak highly enough of these two bright, kind and helpful ladies and of our wonderful experience with Baytown!! read more

Dealing with Heidi Guiol was really unfortunate. I work in the service industry myself and I can tell you that she was an absolute nightmare to deal with. She expressed high anxiety from the get go. Everything was about her, and what she had on her plate and she could not focused on the customer needs one bit. I won't ever deal with Baytown Realty again. read more

Went there 15 minutes prior to office closing, and some ill-mannered man yapping on the phone rudely tells me office is closed after ignoring me for the first few minutes. Never will go through this office for any listings in the future. Stay away if you are planning to list with them or simply renting through them. read more

Horrible, horrible realtor company. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. After multiple e-mails, non-returned phone calls, and misplaced applications, they rented a place to me that was not clean and horribly managed. After I visited the location and decided not to take the apartment, they kept the deposit because they "held the property" and didn't list it even though I had just called them earlier that morning and they still had the apartment listed and had not deposited the check. It's unfortunate that they are one of the main realtors in beautiful Seal Beach. My advice, drive around and look for "for rent" signs on privately owned properties to rent in Seal Beach. Shame on you Baytown. read more

We worked with Sharon for nearly a year before we closed on our new home. Sharon was immediately attentive to our needs and asked all the right questions to understand what kind of home our family needed. The real estate market is extremely tight in Seal Beach but she made sure we were the first to know about any listing hitting the market that would meet our criteria. About halfway through the year, we came close to making an offer on a different home but for personal reasons we had to step away. Sharon didn't miss a beat and stayed by our side while we waited for the next opportunity. When our new home came on the market she notified us the morning it was listed and by that evening we had toured the home twice. She and her team helped us craft an offer and which set us up for success, and, because of her astute knowledge of real estate and the market, we were awarded the house! Once we went under contract we were under a very tight due diligence and closing window. Sharon and her team turned what would have been a very stressful time into a smooth and easy process. They handled any and all bumps that came up in the process and were even able to push closing up a few days thanks to their diligent efforts. Once we closed on the home, some unexpected maintenance issues came up at our new home. Sharon and her team were on top of helping us resolve the issues (even taking late calls at 9:00pm)! Once again, she turned a stressful and tough situation into a positive experience for our family. I can't thank Sharon and her team enough for helping us find the home we have always wanted and for giving our family a home for us to grow in for many years to come. read more

On a rating scale, they actually get a zero, but unfortunately not an option on this website. I had one of their agents, Mike Thomas, represent me in a buy, and unfortunately by the time I found out how incompetent he really is, it was too late. He literally forced me into a buy that I was not ready for because I was going to be leaving my job. He said don't worry, you'll get the loan and no one has to know that you are leaving your job. But when the lender discovered I no longer was employed, obviously didn't give me a loan and I ended up paying over $14 grand to the seller. They are a bunch of slimy business men/women working at this company, with no regard for your hard earned money and they just simply DO NOT know how to protect their clients. They only care about their commission money and they will do anything to get it, even illegal activity. I guess the fact that the owner, Jim Klisanin had his license suspended for over two years for wrongdoing should have been a warning sign. I fell into their trap, don't do the same. Stay away! They don't deserve your business. read more
