This is my parents favorite spot. The food is very good and they provide adequate portion sizes. I will advise if you are ordering to go to check your food before you leave. They have messed up my sides a few times. They was not apologetic either. It was more like do you want to order again or not. I've also been ignored standing at the counter waiting to be acknowledged while they talk amongst each other and sweep the floor. That frustrated me but my parents love the food. read more

The restaurant looked empty with only one other family dining in. Restaurant appeared to be clean, it was just scarce of customers. We started off with Boudin Balls and House Salads with Ranch. The Boudin Balls were fresh and delicious. Only downside was waiting for plates so that my husband and I could share the appetizers. My husband described the ranch as "drinkable".. it was a good Ranch dressing. The service was just odd.. with now being the only table in the entire restaurant, the server seemed off, perhaps she was new. When the food arrived, I was skeptical at first especially with the sauces coming in bottles, but that cocktail sauce had a great punch of horseradish. I had shrimp and stuff crab which was a good portion and tasty. My husband had the fish and shrimp which was also very good! The best thing at this location is the whole fried catfish with two sides for about $13.00. It's my choice. My only issue with the place is the lack of hygiene. It has window boxes with art deco which is grungy; rarely cleaned if ever. Likewise, the toilets which could use an upgrade. These proprietors take too much for granted because locals enjoy the plethora of fried seafood. They could enrich the menu with a few healthier choices! read more

I just don't even know where to start. We were greeted immediately with a beautiful smile (always good) told to sit anywhere and promptly waited on. No the place wasn't busy. We were traveling on the road last Thursday right in the middle of the really wild storms in Houston. When we decided it wasn't safe to continue we pulled off at the first exit we could. The employees working at Baytown Seafood unlocked their doors during the worst of the storm and let us shelter inside until it was over. They were incredibly kind to us - gave us water, food, restrooms and most importantly let us ride it out until it was safe to drive again. I hope the management knows that they have employed some very good humans! We ate the po' boy sandwiches they gave to us once we reached our destination and they were great! We really appreciate the kindness those 3 employees showed to us that day - I wish I had gotten their names! read more

Ate here as it's close to the hotel. That was the first mistake. The second mistake was ordering the fish because it was very greasy and cold. The service also wasn't anything to write home about. I usually don't leave bad reviews as it's not worth my time, however this visit and experience was just abysmal. If there is one positive it was that the waitress were nice My mother ordered the whole catfish with fries and a salad. My mother reported that the fish was soggy as well as the fries. When we arrived there was only 2 other people and it seemed like that made 2 of the waitress' overwhelmed as it took 15 minutes for drinks and another 5 for a refill. One of the waitress seemed to carry the others work as the other was just reading and taking the occasional rare call while the other took 5 tables order as time passed. My plate was the middle of the road, 2 fish 6 shrimp. The shrimp was good but that's all I can say. The dirty rice was pathetically small as it didn't even reach half the bowl in portion and the fries were soggy like my mother's. I'm assuming the food was left out as the waitresses were off doing something. My fathers plate was the most expensive (seafood combo) and had the least amount of food (a trend is the cheaper the more food?) and he said everything from the scallops to the fish were soggy and lacking in flavor. Needless to say we will not be returning. The AC was barely working and mildly hot, portions size bad, and WAY overpriced for what we got. read more

So where do I start. Let's start with positives. The fried okra was pretty good. I have ordered food from this place twice both times my order was incorrect. I ordered the red snapper and both times was given tilapia. I eat seafood all the time and it's easy to spot the difference. The first time I left it as a mistake and didn't make a fuss. The food was decent but not great. Decided to give them a second chance ordered the red snapper again today same deal TILAPIA. The salad was so sad, (half slice of tomato and iceberg lettuce). To make matters worse my coworker ate the seafood special and got sick sick sick. Food poising had to leave to go home from work. Went back to the restaurant for a refund no apologies from anyone. Just took my food and told kitchen staff "she brought her food back said it made her sick". Terrible customer service. I won't be back. read more

This restaurant have always been a favorite of mine since I was a teenager. However, I havnt been here in years . My step mom decided she wanted some good seafood so I was all in! Its never crowded here and the service is always quick. When we recieved our food it brought back good old memories! The bake potatoe was fresh and tasty and the seafood was delightful and fulfilling. The prices are fair for seafood also. The food was very bland. Ordered 4 different entrees and not one was worth eating. The waitress handed hot plates to customers across the table over other individuals water glasses. I had never had grilled oysters with so much oil in them and they were over cooked. Not a good way to end our evening, because now we are looking to go to another place to eat. I gotta give a bad review for this place. The "air conditioner" is this huge monster of a thing that is so loud it literally made me jump when it came on. I started to leave but my husband said lets stay since we already ordered. They brought me the wrong order. I ordered grilled catfish with shrimp, a $15.99 plate and they brought me fried talapia with shrimp, a $10.99 plate - I know because I asked her. The waitress apologized and I understand that happens sometimes so I didn't think much of it. However, when she did bring out my order it was undercooked and covered in grease. Since when do you need to cover fish in grease to grill it? I couldn't eat it, it was awful. The shrimp was chewy. The slaw was okay and the hushpuppies were okay - nothing special. The cooks back there fix it up so good! The parking is easy and plentiful here. I can't think of anytime I had a hard time finding parking. The menu has everything to satisfy all their guest's cravings. This place is family ran and a good family they are. They take pride in their recipes and by the way everything taste, it shows. This location is definitely not closed; I just called to confirm. I grew up in this neighborhood. (I remember going to this building when it was a Pizza Hut.) When I visit my parents, Baytown Seafood is a priority. My husband loves it now, too. You may wait awhile for your order, but it's worth the wait. We always call in our order and take it to go. Typically, three of us can eat for a little over $30. Coming from Seattle, that's hard to beat! I especially love the fried platters - shrimp, catfish, and crawfish. Why does this say closed? I drove by recently and it looked open. My family has frequented this location for years. Sometimes for the crawfish, and sometimes just for the fish platters. The food is cheap and tasty and plentiful. I don't think I've ever really finished the platter that I've ordered here, always needing to-go containers. The crawfish is good, but not great. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow, YMMV. It's a very laid back casual place. The building used to be a Pizza Hut and it shows ^___^ It's not the greatest place in the world in terms of service, as I mentioned, but once you get your food, it's all good.
