You get what you pay for. I couldn't remember if I had gotten a really good French tip from here or another place in Baytown and after today I know it was the other place. The work is sloppy. Prep is very minimal. The rounded flat head used for cleaning up French tips looked like a witches broom so I knew it wasn't leaving with crisp or clean line work. I stated that I like my nails square and sharp multiple times and she still rounded the tips. Somehow they are at an angle, lifted, and rounded, bizarre. There's no apex to be seen. There was polish running over my edges that I had to file off when I got home. After almost 2 hours, I just decided to pay for the set, tip, and leave. On the plus side, Sally, beauty is 20 steps away and you can go buy whatever you need to fix it yourself at home. read more

*if you're new to the area like myself and just need to have your nails done save your time and money, go to Pasadena.* Literally the worst service I've ever received in a nail salon. The only question my tech asked me was if I wanted shellac and then told me it was too late to have my nails shortened after she put the acrylic powder on which is 100% false. Would have been happy to pay an upcharge even but she acted like that wasn't an option which is crazy because you can walk into any salon and they will file your acrylics down for you. I asked them if they would paint the pack of my nail or something to cover up the awful and that apparently isn't a service they offer in this one nail salon either. I got a fill and a broken nail fixed for $55 & the pictures speak for themselves. I work in the service industry and I have never not tipped someone who was doing me a service but I didn't this time and I don't feel bad about it and that is saying so so much. read more

They changed owners and the way the new manager treats customers, gives a unwelcoming vibe. You come in and they all look like you have bothered them with your prescience. I been going to VIP for years and I've given them 3 chances to see if they improved under the new ownership, and each time has been disappointing. They immediately want to up-sale you all their pedicure packages and then they don't even give you the full experience it claims to give on their package. Horrible nails service. My wife was the guinea pig/victim of a grown adult man! He was rough, cut her fingers, pulled on her hands, it was obviously clear he had a stressful day before she went in. She was scared to speak up and left with her hands looking like fat, crooked duck fingers! He used that dipped stuff in peach and the dipped stuff for the white tip!!! He took 3 minutes to go find the wax technician only to find out i was telling the truth. Afterward he tells me my price is 9$ and i hand him my card. He asks "no cash?" I said no "Covid". He elevated his voice and said "ITS A 15$ minimum on the card " and taps the small sign that's behind him on the wall and says "NEXT TIME I WONT LET YOU SLIDE". ... There won't be a next time. I stopped going to TC and CJ as they are owned by one individual who became quite comfortable with and began to expect my money...However, after approximately 5 visits, this place is doing the same. I'll continue to try to patronize this place because I enjoy the speedy service, plentiful workers, and overall set up. What I don't like is that there are absolutely no windows and the women are somewhat snappy and rude--all of them. I have been serviced by 2 women and experienced such for myself while noticing the frowns on the faces of other women as well. I'm especially pissed off with their loyal program for cash paying customers, that was never brought to my attention. For some reason, all but the last time I visited, I have paid with cash. However, as I waited for the receipt of my recent credit card transaction, I noticed a small printing of so many points being offered for so many cash dollars spent to eventually equal some sort of free service. My husband and I go here for our pedicures. Usually done well and have no issues. Today they were not busy and while our pedicures were being done, the staff spoke the whole time to each other in another language. Very rude. The man that did my pedicure was VERY rough and caused a sore on the side of my toe. He kept scouring my feet roughly even though I winched a couple times. I watched the woman doing my husband's feet to make sure she didn't do that to him because a foot sore could be very bad for him. She was a lot more gentle. When my person saw I had a sore, he put rubbing alcohol on it and said the skin on the side of the foot is thinner. I said "you were rough!" he apologized , but if he was paying attention to my feet instead of the conversation with co-workers this wouldn't happened. Pretty awful and uncomfortable experience here right from the start. As we walked to the door, 4-5 of the technicians were smoking right in the doorway. I had to walk through a cloud of smoke to get inside. That put a bad taste in my mouth... AND clothes! The male technician who was to do my nails forced me into an already crowded row when the other chairs and rows were open. I had to squeeze past two other women and ended up stepping on both of their purses. I was so close to the woman next to me that our elbows were touching. The technician was extremely rude, short tempered, quick and did an AWFUL job on my nails. He missed the sides of my nails and didn't do enough coats. I can see the clear nail underneath the shoddy paint job. I paid 35$ for a refill on a set of gel nails and these nails aren't worth 10$. He was in such a hurry to get back to his video poker and cigarettes that he didn't give a crap about the job he was doing. I came here strictly because of the close proximity to my home and I paid for it. This nail salon surprised me because it totally looks elegant and relaxing when you step in. The decor is cute. There is a HUGE selection on nail polishes and shelliac/gelish colors. The service is fast; they have 2-3 people (guys and girls) working on you at one time. Only reason why they don't receive 5 stars is because they filed off my previous shelliac off, which hurted and probably messed up my natural nails. Also, the job the guy did on my mani was okay.
