    My forehead 6 days later
    Camilla M.

If Yelp had a NO star option, I would choose it. I normally take my daughter here to get her nails done at this Salon and they have done a really good job. However, on Saturday, October 7, 2017, I took my daughter to get her nails done, so I decided to have my eyebrows waxed. This ended up being a super huge mistake. BEWARE ! A nail technician name Kim escorted me to a back room & said, "lay on the table." So, I did. I asked her to not take too much off. She said, "Ok " then proceeded. The first amount if was she placed on my brows was extremely hot. I cringed and said, "owe, that's too hit." She said, "too hot, oh sorry " then she waited a few seconds before putting it on again, on the same brow. She then moved to the next brow. I cringed again and said, "owe that's hot too. " she didn't respond. It really hurt when she ripped the wax off. It seemed as she cleaned them up with something other than tweezers. Idk. I was still in pain. She rubbed something (she didn't tell me what she was doing at any time. No questions asked or offered) on my brows & forehead area. She handed me the mirror & all looked fine. I thanked her & went out to sit with my daughter. I immediately noticed red bumps & irritation. No big deal at this point because that's normal. However, as the days went by I noticed more redness, swelling & irritation. My eye lids were getting puffy & my forehead bumpy. I start putting hydro-cortisone ointment so it can get better, but it didn't. On Wednesday 10/11, I decided to make a doctor's appointment because this issue began to get more serious. I also decided to stop by the nail salon to show them my face. I asked to speak to someone. Oh boy, this is going to be a language barrier.. So, a young man named "Lou" Came over. I took my sunglasses off & began to explain what was going on. He immediately started telling me, "no one else complain, not our fault, must be you. " Ok. At this point, I'm appalled at the lack of concern. I told him, "look at me, I wasn't like this when I came here . He never apologized at all. He was adamant about claiming their innocence. He told me "nothing wrong with wax & we use Vaseline on forehead." I explained, "there must be something else you used on me." He said "no, must be you, not us " Ok, this is going nowhere. I then told him, " you're simply going to keep telling me it's not your fault when I didn't look this way when I came here & your not going to offer a refund or anything, no sorry either, huh?" He then said, " its only $7" wow, really? I told him I wanted him to put his name on their business card. I'm very upset with how he handled this situation. He then said, I'm sorry this happened to you, come tomorrow to talk to Kim." Then he gave me $7, not including my $3 tip I gave her on Saturday. Whatever, you guys are pathetic. I also explained that I felt as if my eye were closing on me." He simply looked pitiful at this point. I went to my doctor on Thursday, 10/12/17. He was shocked to see what I looked like. My eye was swollen shut. He said the salon did something & I had a bad allergic reaction. It may have been the wax or what they put on my face afterward. The doctor gave me an injection for the reaction as well as prednisone for the next 7 days. My hubby had to take off from work to drive me around & take or daughter to school. I couldn't see. So, I'm wearing shades & staying indoors for the next 7+ days. My life is sheer madness right now. Here is my warning to all who reads this. ASK QUESTIONS , check credentials, make sure the technician washes her hands before going in the room with you (Kim did not do that) , look around the room. Make sure they have clean items set out, make sure you see them throw the items in the trash, make sure they wear gloves, & bring your own ointment to put on you afterward. Also, research online. These places are known for this type thing. I'm praying no one else has to encounter this madness & be treated this badly. Better yet, don't go to this place.

Elegant Nails is THE place to go for exceptional sculptures, gels and powered nails. Not only do they provide the most up-to-date looks, they are professional, prompt, reasonably priced and give you simply gorgeous nails. I should know: they can make even MY nails look good. God Bless

Fast and friendly service! Knowledgeable staff!

Unfortunately, my most recent experience was the final straw. I'm not usually one to complain because I understand everyone is human and mistakes happen, but this was by far the worst service I've ever received here. I initially requested my usual tech Mimi but more recently she has been staying busy and have had a few different techs these last few time. My pedicure tech started off well, and the foot massage in the beginning was honestly the only positive part of the experience. After that, things quickly went downhill. She would reposition my foot herself, then somehow end up pushing it and blame me for "moving," even when I wasn't moving at all. At one point, she kept readjusting my foot and lightly slapping it while saying, "No move," which felt rude and uncomfortable. While clipping my nails, she repeatedly tried wiping the clippers on the towel under my feet, but in doing so, she poked/stabbed my feet several times. Thankfully, she didn't fully break the skin, but it was still painful and concerning. When it came time to paint my toes, I watched her smudge the polish herself, yet she again blamed me for moving. I asked if she could fix it, which she did, but then she dropped the polish brush onto my pants and leg, leaving polish on both unknowingly to me, ensuring me that it was not on my skin or pants. She also smudged the same toe again during dropping the brushed, proceeded to look right at it, tapped my foot, and smiled without properly correcting it. The final part that really upset me was the massage. I had paid for a 5-minute massage, but she did it dry without using any lotion. When I asked if she would be using lotion like in my previous appointments, she simply said, "No, no worry." It was extremely tense and uncomfortable -- honestly the least relaxing massage I've ever had. To make matters worse, she started the massage around XX:50, realized around XX:51 that she hadn't set the timer, and then changed it from 5 minutes down to only 1 minute and 30 seconds, ending around XX:53. At that point, I was so frustrated and uncomfortable that I just wanted to leave. I had somewhere to be afterward, which is why I got the pedicure in the first place, and once I left (changed clothing) my friend noticed there was still a very noticeable spot of dried polish on my leg from when the tech dropped the brush. I was honestly embarrassed and extremely disappointed. This is the first time I've ever felt the need to leave a complaint about any service. I've always enjoyed coming here, which makes this even more disappointing. I truly hope management addresses this, because the level of care and professionalism I experienced today was unacceptable. I wasn't even able to get the tech's name.

However, the tech that did my nails when I showed her a piece of rough skin under my feet smaller than a mustard seed wear my Birkenstocks rub and she frowned up then I showed her the back of the heel and she frowned up again. I'm like lady you're in the wrong business and I still tipped her just rude, she didn't refuse my tip. Then she put me in the nail dryer and never saw her again. I believe I had this name confused with Plush Nails, however where do you go in Baytown without having to drive into the city. The nerve of these ungrateful people liking they're doing me a favor. The atmosphere It's mediocre. Thanks for letting me know that you didn't appreciate my business.

It all started when I came in later in the evening, around 6:30 and they close at 7:30 however, they willingly let me have a mani/pedi. I'd hoped I wasn't going to keep them late, but they gave me THE MOST EXCELLENT service I've had. The gentleman was just that -gentle and paid extreme attention to detail, but he was still rather swift. -Perfect! Then they put me in the wonderful massage chair that spawned an instant relaxing rest of my evening... better than most. So now, I've got the pedicure happening while the manicurist finishes the last touches. They worked well in tandem as a team, taking care not to mess up the polish on my nails. Almost spontaneously, the gentleman finished with my gel polish and handed it off to the lady as soon as she was finished caring for each of my toes. Let me not skip how wonderfully she took care on this pedicure. This gracious lady did more to each toe than I've ever seen. On top of that, I got a tremendous warm stone massage. My experience was one of the best and albeit I live out of state, I'll be back to see them upon my return. Thank you!
